Bone The Fish - Most Recent Comments!

Who said you can't coin your own term? What is "Boning the Fish"? It's a moment. A defining moment when you know that your favorite TV Show, Celebrity, Movie Series or Music Group has reached its peak. That instant you know from now on...it's all downhill. Some call it a climax of sorts. We call it "Boning the fish". From that moment on things will simply never be the same.

Groups bone either because they were wrong to begin with, or they start out good and wind up hijacked by extremists who bend the mission to suit their twisted ideals. If this is the case with the ACLU, they should give the extremists the boot and fix the problem. So far, they continue to keep the extremists in their ranks, and by refusing to kick them out, they are not much better than the extremists are. -- Submitted By: (Robert) on February 13, 2010, 11:49 am

So it's a success that things are not improving, but getting worse at a slower rate, this would sound like a good spin that failure is actually a success. Or something like the Emperor's New Clothes if you ask me. Also I cited several articles and surveys in my prior posts from the Small Business Owners of America, Gallup and Business week where the statistical pool feel that things are in fact getting worse, and a statistical sample of them are very down on the economy as a whole. Sounds like it jives with my "main street" and every observation I have been able to obtain from what I see out everyday. So everything I see, and all of the statistical evidence that backs this up must be a vast conspiracy of lies to cover up what a great job "Hope and Change" is doing for everyone. Of course, don't let the facts get in the way of your argument!! -- Submitted By: (Chubby Rain) on February 13, 2010, 11:40 am

I went out into the world to prove that bananas are purple. I traveled all over, took measurements and photographs, but only found yellow bananas. So to prove my point, which I know in my heart to be true and so want to believe I photo-shopped the bananas to prove their innate purpleness. Here is the proof! And no, you cannot see the original pictures because...ummm...I lost them in a....fire! yeah that's it! a fire! And ignore those yellow bananas over there, they are products of Big Yellow Fruits Inc. meant to deceive. -- Submitted By: (BrewMaster) on February 13, 2010, 9:57 am

Yuan, dont let the facts get in the way of a good argument. Unemployment has gotten worse in the last year, and lending is also worse than it was before (i.e. a year ago), you can access this via the national's financial newspaper- the wall street journal. As to my anecdotal experiment: 1- go try it yourself, go ask the owner of any small business what they think about the direction of the economy and Obama, chances are you will find they feel the same thing I am saying, things are worse, and Obama scares them with his policies and generated uncertainty so they dont want to hire or invest. 2- People like me doing anecdotal research which I would call a main street realities- ie the "truth"- is always a good way to cut through the partisan spin from the news (does what I see match with what I am being told). Of course when folks like me start saying- no small business owners I know feel good, nobody I know can get a job who isnt working, real estate isnt being sold in my area, and the banks I know arent lending- I must be marginalized for not repeating the liberal party proclimations. Anyway Yuans, this is why Obama is failing he says things are good, but in reality they are not good at all. Again, I issue my challenge to go talk to any small business owner about Obama, tell us the result....... http://blogs.wsj.com/economics/2010/02/09/small-business-owners-remain-pessimistic/?KEYWORDS=2010+job+creation -- Submitted By: (Chubby Rain) on February 13, 2010, 7:16 am

Public Libraries - Random Topics
I have to say ditto to the other comments. It's sad how the library seems to focus on internet access now. I wouldn't mind it if they were geared towards letting poor people browse Wikipedia, newspaper databases, etc. and use word processors and so on... but honestly, you barely ever see people doing that. Everyone is there to play games, listen to rap videos and watch porn. If the library tried to restrict it to educational sites, fine. But it's ridiculous that my tax dollars are going to basically letting people blow hours on fun websites with no redeeming values. At the branch I go to, 1/4 of the floor space, half the staff and the majority of the patrons are in the internet area. The last straw was when I was told I'd have to wait 2 hours to get computer time to access a newspaper archive that was only available inside the library... I had a legitimate research task but the library was catering to people watching pornographic videos. If they wonder why people always vote down library tax increases, there's why. -- Submitted By: (doctor_awesome) on February 12, 2010, 6:44 pm

While the movies shown are entertaining, it's disturbing how many of them are based on "actual events." Sorry Yuan- it can be Him, Fox News and every small business owner I've talked to in the last three months. Things have gotten much worse under President Obama. Go ask any business with less than 30 Employees and ask them if things are getting better or worse with Obama, see what the answer is. Why does this matter? Parenthood (1990) - TV Shows
Not a bad show, but I knew it wasn't going to last long considering that they'd manage to recreate a scene from the movie (sometimes word for word) in every single episode. Also, they dropped the character of the loser younger son with his biracial toddler child that the grandparents were having to raise which could have provided some interesting storylines. I wonder if the newer version will at least keep the biracial grandchild as a character? -- Submitted By: (Pelirojo) on February 12, 2010, 11:50 am

Not a bad show but it went on for WAY too long- and the idea that ordinary folks didn't know who Alan Funt was or expect him to come 'round the corner became rather ludicrous by the end.Believe it or not, the show started out on radio as "Candid Microphone"- anyone else find that oddly more intrusive than being filmed? -- Submitted By: (Pelirojo) on February 12, 2010, 11:38 am

Other things, too, but I think I was subconsciously commenting on the Tebow ad. One ad had Betty White being tackled TO THE GROUND by a football player. But when Tebow PLAYFULLY tackles his mother, guess which one they criticize for promoting violence against women? They're really clutching at straws to villify Tebow's commercial. And they insist we call them "pro-choice", not pro abortion. But, they get up in arms when the other choice (reconsider getting an abortion) is being encouraged to pregnant women. How is that pro-choice? Well, I guess it is...in this case, "choice" is a euphemism for "abortion". -- Submitted By: (Robert) on February 12, 2010, 10:50 am

The rumor was during her "marriage to" Michael Jackson that he was also involved with the $centologists, and the marriage was designed to make him look straight to keep the heat off the child rape reputation, this would keep his money flowing to the $cientology coffers. This explanation makes perfect sense for this seemingly bizarre set of events. Let's just say these guys are great at pointing out problems--half of which they're partially responsible for to begin with--but really lousy at the actual "solving" part. Oh, and they're hypocrites of the highest (or is that lowest) order. Everything's fine when *they* do or say it, but bad when you do. Batman (1966) - TV Shows
AS a kid I was watching one of the reruns, and in this episode (I swear I'm not making this up) Batman and Robin somehow got transformed into cardboard cutouts of themselves but got out of it thanks to...the THREE DIMENSIONAL BAT RESTORER!!! You know, the one they had just in case they were ever turned into cardboard cutouts. I voted "Never Boned" because I would honestly rather watch an episode of this for the 10th time than most of the current dreck on TV. I know it's trite and formulaic and banal, and it's STILL better. Fletch, you've gotta understand that 30 years ago, chicks had lower standards. You didn't have to have six pack abs, blindingly white teeth, etc. just to get a date. By late 70s/early 80s standards, Jack Tripper *was* a chick magnet. As for the Chrissy character, she was okay the first few episodes but then was made dumber and dumber until finally all suspension of disbelief was shattered since by the end of the second season Chrissy would've literally been too stupid to live. Then Cindy was a one-note klutz (she accidentally injures Jack yet again with her clumsiness, I get it already). I laughed every time I saw that preview on TV. Clearly this flick was done specifically to erase Tobey's nerdy pretty boy image and it just as clearly failed. -- Submitted By: (DolFan316) on February 12, 2010, 12:15 am

Lisa Marie Presley - Celebrities
Fletch, you could honestly ask that about 90% of female celebs these days. Not that you weren't spot on about Lisa Marie :-) -- Submitted By: (DolFan316) on February 12, 2010, 12:12 am

Flo (Progressive Insurance) - TV Shows
I still don't get why most guys think she's hot. For one thing, that lipstick is just *way* too distracting. And Flo's Stepford wife-level perkiness just scares me. -- Submitted By: (DolFan316) on February 12, 2010, 12:09 am

BoneTheFish.com - Websites
Robert, your last comment rocked so much that I as inspired to make a new vote category! Hope you like it :-) -- Submitted By: (DolFan316) on February 12, 2010, 12:07 am

George W. Bush - Celebrities
All I know is, everyone kept yammering on about how Bush ruined America, but Obama's actually DOING it. -- Submitted By: (DolFan316) on February 12, 2010, 12:04 am

Pearl Jam - Music Groups
Severed Hand is cool but, I can rarely understand what the hell Eddie Vedder is saying. Mostly noise to me. BD-1 -- Submitted By: (fletch000) on February 11, 2010, 11:02 pm

America's Best Dance Crew - TV Shows
Nice show but it seems like all the crews do the same old rehashed tired dance moves over and over again every season. If I see one more person do the upside down one hand hop while kicking their legs....that hasn't been hot since You Got Served came out. -- Submitted By: (bellefemelle) on February 11, 2010, 11:02 pm

Chris Isaak - Music Groups
I just don't care for this style of music, listened to Blue Hotel, wicked game and blue Spanish sky. I liked non of it so, boned from day 1 in my opinion. -- Submitted By: (fletch000) on February 11, 2010, 10:53 pm

Stephen King - Celebrities
I think that this guy is unquestionably the greatest horror/Science fictional writers of this generation. never boned. -- Submitted By: (fletch000) on February 11, 2010, 10:44 pm

Rihanna - Music Groups
This girl can sing y'all, and She's gorgeous to boot. She should be giving Miss Beyonce all she can handle in the near future. Never boned. -- Submitted By: (fletch000) on February 11, 2010, 10:30 pm

Stevie Nicks - Music Groups
Stevie Nicks is not bad to look at but, I can't stand to listen to her. Her voice is totally annoying to me. So I must bone this fish from day 1. -- Submitted By: (fletch000) on February 11, 2010, 10:25 pm

Boston - Music Groups
shanequia, have you ever heard this band before. They have many classic hit songs. They are a 70s rock band, if you don't care for that style of music so be it, but before making a judgment, why not check them out on you tube. Listen to More than a feeling or Amanda, then state your case for saying that the band sucks. Will you do that please? I think they never boned. -- Submitted By: (fletch000) on February 11, 2010, 10:20 pm

Starsky and Hutch - TV Shows
Don't tell me I'm the only one that ever enjoyed this show. I would never miss Starsky and Hutch or Baretta on Wednesday nights on ABC. I think it was Wednesdays. Never boned. -- Submitted By: (fletch000) on February 11, 2010, 10:09 pm

Michael Richards - Celebrities
The fool screwed himself. Nobody wants to touch his ass now. should have kept his racist comments to himself. Nobody cares how he feels in private, but you don't behave like an idiot in public and expect to get too much public support, of course those that feel the way that he does will love him even more for showing his tail like that. I can't even stand to watch him on Seinfeld anymore, knowing how he feels about people like me. He was boned the moment he went on that little rant. -- Submitted By: (fletch000) on February 11, 2010, 10:05 pm

Steve Vai - Music Groups
If you like real music, you'll like this guy's stuff. He is a musician extraordinaire. check him out on you tube sometime. I'm sure you'll agree with me on this one. never boned. -- Submitted By: (fletch000) on February 11, 2010, 9:59 pm

Foreigner - Music Groups
Foreigner, I want to know what love is was a great song. I also agree with Stephanie, I've been waiting, was a powerful ballad, can't say if they ever boned so I'll vote never. -- Submitted By: (fletch000) on February 11, 2010, 9:51 pm

Incubus (band) - Music Groups
Mike Einziger is a helluva good guitarist, and seems to be a nice person as well. As for the group, I like their music. Brandon Boyd has a great voice, my favorite is Dig. They have not boned yet in my opinion. -- Submitted By: (fletch000) on February 11, 2010, 9:47 pm

Bay City Rollers, The - Music Groups
I did not like this group, and they seemed to be on the Midnight Special every other week. That sucked. -- Submitted By: (fletch000) on February 11, 2010, 9:37 pm

Farrah Fawcett - Celebrities
What young man or boy, as I was at the time, didn't have a thing for Farrah. She was indeed beautiful. She was not however a great actress, even in The burning bed, she was unconvincing as a leading lady. I'm not going to get into her personal life, as I'm trying to evaluate her from a talent standpoint. She was a lovely model. R.I.P. Farrah. -- Submitted By: (fletch000) on February 11, 2010, 9:35 pm

Lionel Richie - Music Groups
Lionel was boned in 1986 when his wife caught him cheating and kicked his butt. His credibility was shot to me, as he supposedly has written all of these love songs for her, and claimed to be so religious. You lie, Lionel! -- Submitted By: (fletch000) on February 11, 2010, 9:17 pm

Kim Fields - Celebrities
Gorgeousness young lady and good actress. She will soon have a break out role I bet. Hope she doesn't have to get naked to be recognized. -- Submitted By: (fletch000) on February 11, 2010, 9:07 pm

Ricky Hatton - Celebrities
No fight fans in the house? Who's voting? -- Submitted By: (fletch000) on February 11, 2010, 9:05 pm

Ashley Judd - Celebrities
I've know she's cute, but have never seen any of her movies, that I know of. I won't vote on her at this time. Can someone suggest the best movie to see her in so that I can make an informed vote? Thank you. -- Submitted By: (fletch000) on February 11, 2010, 9:04 pm

Wings - TV Shows
This show was never great, but it wasn't awful either. A pretty good way to kill a half hour if nothing better is available. -- Submitted By: (fletch000) on February 11, 2010, 9:00 pm
