Bone The Fish - Most Recent Comments!

Who said you can't coin your own term? What is "Boning the Fish"? It's a moment. A defining moment when you know that your favorite TV Show, Celebrity, Movie Series or Music Group has reached its peak. That instant you know from now on...it's all downhill. Some call it a climax of sorts. We call it "Boning the fish". From that moment on things will simply never be the same.

I see the old geezers r still posting. Too bad, this could have been an incredible resource and forum for contemporary TV. Dudes: 1960 was a LONG time ago, get current. -- Submitted By: (martymarty) on December 24, 2016, 11:37 am

Seriously people, does anyone under 137 years old even read this crap anymore? I tried for years to get some commentary going on TV shows made in the current century only to be attacked. You geezers love to dwell in the past and review shows you loved as kids but have not been on the air in forever! I love classic TV, i do! I also love current shows that will become the classics of the next generation. This site boned when it stopped allowing commentary from younger people and focused exclusively on a-holes over the age of 80. I love Leave it to Beaver but I love Speechless as well! -- Submitted By: (martymarty) on December 18, 2016, 11:41 am

Is there any way we can fix that Invalid Character error I seem to get periodically, or at least DEFINE what the invalid characters are so I do not use them? Nothing frustrates me more than working up a well thought out longish comment, only to have it rejected when I submit it because it contained an oh so mysterious so called invalid character. Then I cannot jump back to edit the comment. UUUGGGGHHHHHH!!!! -- Submitted By: (Friedrich_Feuerstein) on January 27, 2016, 9:32 am

TV Guide completely bastardized the heart/content/intent of everything that jumptheshark.com was meant to be. I've had the displeasure of not following a lot of good friends of mine. Because god forbid, they can't go a day without sharing like 10 - 15 images clogging the newsfeed. Images of cheesy observational and motivational messages. Images of more unfunny animals like cats. Images of obvious inspirational messages done in these stupid fonts and sound like greeting cards. I'm sick of seeing them. That's what Tumblr is for. People have grown so clingy to Facebook, they feel that it's the only source of communication. What happened to the idea of the e-mail and/or messaging client? I remember using that stuff regularly like MSN, Yahoo! and AIM. Now I'm just down to Skype and everybody is either stubborn to move out of their Facebook caves or just don't bother. I like the exclusivity of messengers and e-mail. Facebook just bloats the idea of socializing and with all of it's features shoved in like apps and games, it has completely overdone the simple method of reaching people - communication. -- Submitted By: () on May 21, 2015, 3:21 am

Well, my friend is experiencing the ugly side of Facebook firsthand. One of her friends full-blown stabbed her in the back, betrayed her, and posted what happened, roles reversed. Luckily, her TRUE friends know who really is the culprit, and only his friends believe his cock and bull story. That's not to say EVERY user will experience this kind of drama, but it's one reason why so many people are averse to joining the site. Myself included. -- Submitted By: (Robert) on May 4, 2015, 9:49 pm

The person who suggested a separate area for the old Jump the Shark comments has a great idea. The home page should have new comments, it's more fun for everyone that way. You could have a link right up there under the main navigation in the upper left. Not only would that settle this war going on, it would actually encourage the old guys to post their best material and get younger people interested in what they have to say. -- Submitted By: (spacer) on February 21, 2015, 12:11 pm

Calling it quits? Really? BTF had a lot of bumpy roads in its first years: the small handful of users with an obsession against Dawn Lyn, the vote stacking fiasco, the political arguments, etc., and most of us stuck around. The JTS comments don't bother me, though I think making an "Old JTS Comments!" page for them would be something all of us can agree on. That said, here's hoping you change your mind. -- Submitted By: (Robert) on February 13, 2015, 6:02 pm

Bone the Fish was until recently an outstanding site. The way it worked was a user would post one or two comments at a time, and when you logged on, you saw the most recent two dozen or so entries. You got a nice diversity of users, shows, and comments. Now, for the second time within a few months, some brain dead idiot has decided to flood the Fish with tired, outdated remarks from the old Jump the Shark site. The result is you have to wade through the back pages to find comments from other people. Life is too short, folks, in two words your site Sucks Balls. On top of that, your server is ridiculously slow. Goodbye forever, a former fan. BTW, any site that posts 200 consecutive comments from the same loser about the Bear in the Big Blue House should have their domain yanked. -- Submitted By: (martymarty) on February 7, 2015, 11:12 am

There are ways to get around the ads before the videos. I'm really starting to get aggravated with Google's failing attempts to make things "easier". Things don't feel "easier" they feel more like obstructions. Google still pesters me on the trivial question on what name I want to be under on YouTube. Clicking my YT screen name for the millionth time. Things should be separate for a reason, Google. Not enforced or prompted. And the continuation of Google + invading YT's site structure is getting beyond annoying. Google, nobody gives a shit about plus. People have only signed up on plus because you've pestered the fuck out of them enough to even bother. Least MSN took the hint when their attempt at social networking, Multiply, was an abysmal failure before finally shut down this year. Just like I've ranted about Google in the Google thing. YouTube feels they need to make changes that nobody asks for. It was fine the way it was before Google decided that "VIDEOS NEED ADS!" and "HOMEPAGE NEEDS TO BE EASIER TO ACCESS!" and it just became a trainwreck from there. The site is a garbled fuck up, plain and simple. The comments are always messed up, you don't see thumbs down anymore, you cannot remove annotations now except manually, and everything else listed. Agreed with the others. Someone else has stepped up to archive sites the best way they can. So they're, surprisingly, doing a better job than even the original site that claims to save old sites. Most of the stuff archived are boring and I think the guys at Wayback Machine knows this. What we want, is to surf like it was the times of then. If you can't do that, then go away. DeviantArt - Websites
My gripes with this site is nearly limitless. Coming from someone who's been a user for 7 years. It took them 10 years to finally get a way so people can "leave" the site. Deactivating account, even though they give you 28 days to reconsider, which is kinda nice. It took them 5 1/2 years to finally get around to fixing a bug which made it so you wouldn't delete your own chat rooms. This is quite a lazy bundle of a technical staff I've seen. Gives the people over at Facebook a run for their money considering their Facebook Chat feature regularly is broken. Oh and when you want help? Again, it'll take them forever to respond to your ticket and they have a chat room called #Help. Almost all the time. NO ONE is in there. What good is having a help chat room if not one mod can't be assigned there to assist? I can imagine they have a high set of demands to meet every single hour when it comes to running a site like DeviantArt. But what is stopping them from hiring a few more people as staff so they could manage things just a little better? Also, since when did pretentious photographers start flooding in? Especially the ones who fabricate the "Artistic Nudity" claim. There is nothing much artistic about some skank model, even if she's gorgeous, posing nude for the photographer. And most of these photographers are old farts or some hot shot. I've actually tried reporting someone who simply had a picture of his penis, you know, shot with a webcam or something and tried to play that off as "Artistic Nudity". The staff came back to me and said my claim was invalid. So, goes to show where DeviantArt stands on those kinds of photos. Can't pull them away or someone in that staff won't be able to sleep at night without jerking off to something. I just don't see anything with someone posing nude and in scenery and the people gobble it up. It's like they try to hide the real reason why they're seeing it. "Oh...wonderful shot! the windows and atmosphere looks nice." when it kinda looks crappy. Get real! You're there to see some tits and ass. What, porn not good enough for you? Got to have sophisticated porn? Their chat servers like to crash, you can't really have much customization with your profile. I know DA is not meant to be Facebook or MySpace. But, having things restricted to just "Zones" kindof defeats the purpose of customizing. Especially when you throw them some money for premium membership and you get just a little more things to add but doesn't help much. Christ almighty, I could go on forever but I think I've said enough. -- Submitted By: (Infyrin) on October 9, 2013, 4:29 am

Google - Websites
But it's by GOOGLE, though. Google knows what we want and how to implement it so nothing absolutely goes wrong. I...no. I can't even imagine how horrible those glasses are going to go. Okay, google. I think you're really trying way too hard to do things you shouldn't be doing. Searching? Fine. E-Mail? Fine. Android? Fine. But, I really think they should take a step back and stick to what they're good at doing. Or, maybe they should have stayed as a search engine. I mean, so far, they're really annoying people now with how they're handling YouTube. They can't go a day without wanting to change something around with the home site and how or what features stay or go. I cannot remove annotations anymore on YouTube for some reason. So now when you watch a video, you have to click through someone's video as they've plastered it with annotations all over to subscribe, comment, whatever. And I'm really getting tired of Google+ desperately wanting me to change my name on YouTube to my real name. When the point of registering to YouTube is to have your own screen name! Every once in a while, I get a dialogue box asking me "Which name do you want to be under?" Or "Which name do you want to sign in as?" Are you fucking kidding me, Google? This should not be trivial. Google+ is a shitty mess of a social networking site, quit trying to push it onto YouTube. Google only got so popular because people have gotten so lazy to go browse other search engines. Well, until another familiar company like Microsoft stepped in with Bing because people can only recognize so many search engines to choose from. And speaking of searching. Ever get frustrated when Google doesn't always get what you're looking for anymore. Try say, look for Skillet. The pan. Simply type in "Skillet" and guess what results will come up? Skillet, the band. Nothing wrong with the band but it's an example of how mish-mashed things have become to the point where even Google can't even get it right. So, Google is not everything it's trying to be. -- Submitted By: (Infyrin) on October 9, 2013, 4:04 am

Kickstarter - Websites
I think if you have anyone just using this for their e-begging needs. It diminishes the intent this site was originally for. Because now any e-beggar can run a kickstarter and people would donate and donate. And the goals they come up with are stupid. Yes, I'm referring to YouTube E-Beggars. -- Submitted By: () on October 8, 2013, 4:53 pm

Pirate Bay, The - Websites
Anything they do to piss off the MPAA/RIAA and other anti-piracy suits is always a happy day. Because they think that taking down The Pirate Bay, they'd think they'd win the "Piracy War". And that all torrent sites will fold and cease to exist. Problem, even if you somehow manage to take the Pirate Bay down. Many more will rise up. It's the Hydra effect and that's what the old farts fighting so their baby cries are heard fail to realize. SET SAIL, PIRATE BAY! -- Submitted By: () on October 8, 2013, 4:48 pm

Yahoo! - Websites
Jesus, Yahoo! Stop buying out things you later take away! No wonder you suck so much now. It's because they've deformed their site over the years from being reliable to being "why would we care?" Their site is Captcha-friendly, you'll find that stupid thing where you least expect it. Especially to play their games. I used to be a frequent Yahoo! Pool player, but with the frustration of having to tell Java over and over again that it's OKAY to run and the Captcha prompting afterwards. It wasn't like it prevented spambots or bots at all from coming in. Because guess what? People STILL manage to get bots in there. And that game is so out-dated that they don't bother revising it so people still cheat at the game too to this day. So I stopped playing. Commenting on some articles is a pain because lord behold, you'll find some bigot who wants to argue with you as well as his/her legion thumbing down your comment to death. Everyone wants to feel like they're right on there and can't accept it when they're wrong so they'll turn asshole on you. Psh. Then Yahoo! boldly removed their web messenger, which okay. But what gets me is, why try and turn Yahoo! Mail into this all-in-one service? It's a mess, they still have their messengers releasing last I knew. I don't care what's trending or what's happening right now. I switched to GMail for a reason and it's because when I just want mail. I will get mail. Not just unnecessary features I can find anywheres else on the site. -- Submitted By: () on October 8, 2013, 4:45 pm

Twitter - Websites
Twitter is just that status box you see in Facebook and any other social site. Hell, if you want to be technical. It's just a comment box for all to see! Nothing very spectacular about it. And it's limit is about as limited as YouTube's comment box. Why is this site even popular when you can do the same thing everywhere else? -- Submitted By: () on October 8, 2013, 4:35 pm

Ebay is clearly is one of the things very wrong with making deals online. I prefer Craigslist to a degree, and never will touch EBay buy or sell. -- Submitted By: (Infyrin) on September 29, 2013, 4:46 am

The problem with Dailymotion is that they seems to have tons of ads, some of which are in the MIDDLE of clips! -- Submitted By: (John63btf) on September 18, 2013, 8:24 pm

I don't know about anyone else, but from my experience, I've only encountered the "Autoplay" when watching videos from a playlist, and I at least have the option of turning it off. -- Submitted By: (cartooner) on September 14, 2013, 10:18 pm

Youtube - Websites
YouTube just gets worse and worse. Behold, the newest "feature": ALL videos have autoplay on them. As soon as your video ends--unless it's part of the uploader's playlist--a time limit will begin for a random video to play. You have ten seconds to click cancel, or it will start. If you fail to click cancel, even clicking Replay won't stop the countdown: as soon as the ten second countdown ends, the random video will override your command to replay. It's now unwatchable. It's as though they hired someone to sabotage their site. Well, Mr. Saboteur, Mission accomplished. If someone knows a better video sharing website, for the love of God, speak up! -- Submitted By: (Robert) on September 13, 2013, 5:59 pm

Golden Raspberry Awards (Razzies) - Websites
I can agree. Usually, I like the Razzies, but in that case, 05 was a bomb. Someone obviously forgot that Razzies are for Critical or Box Office bombs, not to vent your political feelings (and I would go the same way if it was a slam on the left, see me rip on Fox News) -- Submitted By: (PYLrulz) on September 1, 2013, 1:45 am

The Golden Raspberry boned in 2005 for it foray into politics by allowing the nomination of George Bush for a role he had noting to do about. Fahrenheit 9/11 was a move purposely made to make Bush look bad. -- Submitted By: (scatcatpdx) on August 26, 2013, 11:49 pm

Homophobic assholes. Calling someone who says or does bigoted things "a bigot" isn't censorious, its descriptively accurate, like calling a bad movie a "bad movie", even if the bigot didn't intend to come off as bigoted and the movie didn't intend to come off as bad. -- Submitted By: (ryantee82) on August 26, 2013, 7:40 pm

DropMurphy, about your comment in which smoking is discouraged by telling people what they can buy with the money spent on smoke: someone stole your idea. I was at some gas stations and saw the ads. That's more like it! An anti-smoking ad that actually makes you want to quit or cut back. Their worst ad is much better at its job than even the best Truth ad. -- Submitted By: (Robert) on August 16, 2013, 1:21 pm

One of the dumbest commercials I ever saw about truth. Is that they had a commercial of waving bop-it looking wives with actual people singing this obnoxious song. Part of the lyrics and the message they were trying to send was that "Smoking will beat your wife." and at the end one of the kids asks "Smoking will beat your wife?" Kindof like my reaction, only except, that Alcohol is more prone to do more damage than cigarettes, bar none. -- Submitted By: (Infyrin) on August 10, 2013, 11:03 pm

Harry had a short-lived talk show on YouTube. It flopped and his sponsors cancelled it. Now he's running a Kickstarter for a minimum of $100,000 to continue it.
