Bone The Fish - Most Recent Comments!

Who said you can't coin your own term? What is "Boning the Fish"? It's a moment. A defining moment when you know that your favorite TV Show, Celebrity, Movie Series or Music Group has reached its peak. That instant you know from now on...it's all downhill. Some call it a climax of sorts. We call it "Boning the fish". From that moment on things will simply never be the same.

Murder, She Wrote - TV Shows
Haha I just don't get expecting a TV show to actually be realistic. It's TV! None of them are realistic. "The Wire" is far and away the closest thing there's ever been to a realistic crime drama on American TV and even that is clearly fiction. Just sit back and enjoy the fiction. Of course it's not realistic. If you want real crime stories, read the papers. -- Submitted By: (doctor_awesome) on July 30, 2010, 3:55 pm

Griefer (internet) - Random Topics
Griefers are the main reason why I'm not into online multiplayer games. The last thing I need if I was going for multiplayer achievements is some ill-mannered kid screaming insults and being a no-class douche. -- Submitted By: (BigAl) on July 30, 2010, 7:29 am

Jurassic Park - Movie Series
Third movie was certainly the boning moment. I mean, the T-rex losing to the Spinosaurus just wasn't right, the search for the missing kid was contrived at best - I doubt Crichton would have approved of that kind of story line if he had any say in the matter (I doubt he did). -- Submitted By: (BigAl) on July 30, 2010, 7:25 am

Simpsons, The - TV Shows
Simpsons boned a long time ago, and yet Fox keeps renewing it year after year. I remember when it was something to talk about with classmates at school, but it became unwatchable by the time I got my university degree. I didn't bother with the Simpsons Movie because I saw the trailer that included the Spider-Pig bit - that particular bit made me facepalm and mutter "Is THAT the best they can do now?" Seriously, Homer is a total idiot, Lisa is a preachy know-it-all, Bart's shenanigans are overlooked (I loved it when he prank-called Moe's Tavern), and Marge didn't seem to change much. -- Submitted By: (BigAl) on July 30, 2010, 7:09 am

Moderators (Internet Forum) - Random Topics
I have mixed opinions of moderators on Internet forums. I have nothing against them as long as they enforce the rules. Mel Gibson - Celebrities
Well, Mel is said to be a Conservative, so there's a slight chance some people might stop working with him. But as long as his films keep making money, don't count on it. As long as you've got they kind of money he does, you can say and do pretty much anything you want to. -- Submitted By: (Travoltron) on July 29, 2010, 10:03 am

Monty Python film series - Movie Series
Monty Python & the Holy Grail was what got me into Monty Python in the first place - my high-school French teacher always showed that movie on the last day of school. Man, the look on Graham Chapman's face as he delivers the line "What are you going to do, bleed on me" just kills me. Holy Grail's easily my favorite MP movie - Life of Brian and Meaning of Life aren't bad, either. -- Submitted By: (BigAl) on July 29, 2010, 7:30 am

Mel Gibson - Celebrities
And of course absolutely nothing's going to happen to him, because when a Hollywood liberal makes racist comments it's perfectly fine, even if he's white. Can you imagine how much any of OUR lives would've been ruined if WE had said those things? Oh yeah, his extortion story is *totally* believable--NOT!!! -- Submitted By: (DolFan316) on July 28, 2010, 10:11 pm

Homework - Random Topics
I remember having to do term papers and book reports when I was in elementary school, but that was only because I was in gifted class. Regular elementary school kids back then didn't have that kind of workload. Now they do. And yet the state of education gets worse the more homework is assigned and the longer they make the school year. What I loved were the teachers (and professors) who clearly thought you didn't have anything to do for the rest of the day and thus had all the free time in the world to do THEIR personal mountain of assigned homework. -- Submitted By: (DolFan316) on July 28, 2010, 10:09 pm

Seinfeld - TV Shows
For being the loser of the group George sure got a lot of tail though, about as much as Jerry who was "boning" a different chick every week! Kramer was always presented as the "swinger" of the group, but in retrospect he had the LEAST amount of sex. -- Submitted By: (DolFan316) on July 28, 2010, 10:05 pm

Jenny McCarthy - Celebrities
BigAl, seeing (or more accurately, hearing) her on Singled Out is when she BTF for me. Before then, she was this ultrahot Playboy chick. But when I saw her screeching and spazzing out like she had ADD all the magic was gone. And ALL of her acting roles are like that. No wonder she got so desperate for attention she posed for Playboy AGAIN. In real life, I don't see how anybody would be able to put up with her for 5 minutes. -- Submitted By: (DolFan316) on July 28, 2010, 10:01 pm

Closer, The - TV Shows
Sorry, gotta STRONGLY disagree with this. I've been subjected to enough torture--I mean, episodes, to know what I'm talking about here. Kyra Sedgewick flounces around acting like she's 25 (like most women over 40 do these days) with this ATROCIOUS breathy, southern accent that my 4-year old nephew wouldn't believe. She's so breathy it seems as if she's always just had sex in every scene. She treats her boyfriend like absolute garbage, even to the point where she sides with her bratty teen niece over him. And she comes off as SYMPATHETIC compared to the other people on the show! The ONLY good part about this dreck is the guy who played Captain Harris in the Police Academy movies is in it, and even he can't begin to make up for the rest of this garbage. -- Submitted By: (DolFan316) on July 28, 2010, 9:57 pm

Transformers - Movie Series
One of my friends has got to be the biggest Transformers fan ever. He dragged me to the first flick, which wasn't *too* bad. But even HE realized the second movie was just a Megan Fox showcase with occasional robots in the background, and never bothered seeing it. Why pay $10 to see Megan Fox "act" when you can just stare at pics of her on the net for free? I'm glad she's no longer involved, the next movie of the franchise is already better by default! -- Submitted By: (DolFan316) on July 28, 2010, 9:49 pm

FIFA World Cup - Random Topics
What I learned from the World Cup is that soccer officials make NBA refs look competent and unbiased, and teams that actually try to make scoring goals a part of the game never win in the end. I kinda agree with Stephanie, and I'm glad she said it :-) Tattoos on women=trying way to hard to be "edgy" and "empowered". I don't know why that is, but it is. National Basketball Association (NBA) - Random Topics
You want to talk about a superstar league? How about LeBron and Chris Bosh coming to join Dwyane Wade in Miami? Parity is nonexistent in this league. But that's just the way it is in the NBA. The rich get richer, the poor stay the same. I predict the Lakers, Celtics, and now the new superpower in the Heat will win at least 6 of the next 10 NBA championships. Oh well, at least the NFL is still competitive... -- Submitted By: (ScottyB) on July 28, 2010, 9:36 pm

Young and the Restless, The - TV Shows
I just don't get soap operas. Oh, don't get me wrong, I get why they appeal to chicks (lots of talking, then talking some more, followed by talking, etc.) but soap actors have their own strange little insular world where you never see or hear about them hanging out with anyone else and nearly all of them seem to have discovered this magic formula where they can stay looking the same for 30 years or more. Sometimes I think they're all secretly aliens. Seriously. But then I think to myself, why would aliens waste their time acting on soap operas? They're only brainwashing half the adult population that way. LOL -- Submitted By: (DolFan316) on July 28, 2010, 9:31 pm

Jump the Shark boned when TV Guide took it over and made it into a blog site. I love the forums! They don't tolerate idiots, the people there are intelligent apart from a few users that have been probated a lot, and there is a lot of good content. I also like the Leper's Colony, it's always fun to see what people get punished for due to the humorous reasons the mods/admins sometimes put for punishments. So You Think You Can Dance - TV Shows
We loved it the first season. Second one, not so much. Can't watch it now. The show was about dancing initially -- it still is, but too much attention on the judges (some of whom are now so glammed up it's hard to recognize them). -- Submitted By: (HistoryProf) on July 28, 2010, 4:37 pm

Coach - TV Shows
The Pro thing was only the icing on the cake for me. The decline started with winning seasons -- before long, the whole premise that made the show funny unraveled. Hayden was supposed to be an earnest, middle-of-the-road kind of coach. Next thing you know, he's Bear Bryant. It didn't make sense, and the show suffered. The comedy with Luther and Dauber was some of the best stuff the show offered -- even Christine was hilarious at times, but Nelson got worse and worse as the "success" model kicked in. The pro job was just stupid -- probably not as stupid as Christine having a baby, though!!! -- Submitted By: (HistoryProf) on July 28, 2010, 4:29 pm

Oliver Stone - Celebrities
This doesn't surprise me. Most of the hardcore Anti-Semites I've come across are hardcore lefties like Stone; they were a dime-a-dozen in my college. Of course, they will cloak their anti-Semitism as "Concern for the Palestianian cause". And sometimes it's the ones with Jewish blood like Stone that whine the loudest, probably because they hated daddy or themselves. By the way Oliver, if this mythical cabal of Jews control the media, how do you and Mel Gibson keep getting work? Why does Jesse Jackson keep getting all that airtime? -- Submitted By: (Travoltron) on July 27, 2010, 10:37 pm

Mike Myers - Celebrities
Travoltron, I think you've hit the nail square on the head. Comedians tend to be very dark people by nature and it is that darkness from whence their humor arises. When the lose that darkness, they tend to lose the humor along with it. -- Submitted By: (Friedrich_Feuerstein) on July 27, 2010, 2:51 pm

Boned when my wife started boring us with it daily. I swear it's the longest hour of every day. Characters are wooden and predictable and the plots are so recycled it should be labeled "green" TV. -- Submitted By: (MtDoMe) on July 27, 2010, 1:43 pm

Quincy M.E. - TV Shows
Too true, Pelirojo! I could never figure out this show's appeal...Klugman is just Oscar Madison. If you see him on earlier episdes of the Twilight Zone, for example, he's always playing EXACTLY the same part -- always the same accent, same delivery, same "urgency", too serious to take seriously. Never, NEVER understood this show lasting like it did. Boned from the start. -- Submitted By: (HistoryProf) on July 27, 2010, 1:17 pm

Why is Hitler seen as one of the most evil people ever to live? Is it because he killed millions of people in the name of promoting eugenics and eradicating the Jews, slavs and other "inferior" races? No, guess again. Is it because of the way he's portrayed by the Jews? Yep! ...well, according to Oliver Stone, that's the reason. http://newsbusters.org/blogs/alana-goodman/2010/07/25/oliver-stone-jewish-dominated-media-prevents-hitler-being-portrayed-c ...and... http://blogs.telegraph.co.uk/news/edwest/100048530/oliver-stone-talks-poisonous-rubbish-about-hitler-and-jewish-domination-of-the-media/ -- Submitted By: (Robert) on July 27, 2010, 11:01 am

I can agree with that 100%. There is hardly a lousy Far Side comic out there. Robert- I'm just blown away by the ineptness of wiki as a site- this Sheffield Steel files a "report" that asks you to click a link, and then you click on it, and you go to literally a mish mosh of tens of thousands of complaints, you cannot even find yours. So as a reward for being a whiny tattle tale -my boy SheffeldSteel I've already been at two libraries today going into his pages, readng, making a few changes, talking to his friends on the site, building up relationships to sabotage him hurt him on the site and ruin his credibility etc. Of course all under new names on the site. I stopped caring about it around Gen II - but there were other factors that got annoying after a while. Ash gets a good Pokemon and it starts to serve him well...he lets it go. But above all, it was Jessy & James (Team Rocket) showing up just about every episode - I couldn't stand their stupid "motto" after some time, not to mention there was a lot of times they could have gotten the drop on Ash and company. Argh, it jumped the shark when Generation IV introduced a whole region full of Pokemon that were either evolutions from previous Generations or Pokemon that had no inspiration what so ever. There were also too many legendaries by then, they just weren't special anymore. People always say that Gen III had the most unoriginal ones, but how can that be when only two Pokemon had evolutionary relatives from older generations? It is true that the Pokemon Wurmple was a shameless ripoff of Caterpie, along with it's evolutions, but at least it served a purpose as to further explore nature (Wurmple evolved into a certain Pokemon depending on it's nature). Compare that to the Pokemon from Gen IV that were just evolutions of Pokemon that were fine on their own! Not even of Pokemon that would actually benifit from gaining an evolution, like a great number of Pokemon in the Hoenn dex!! GAWD! Plus, Ruby & Sapphire were rushed games. They likely would have had time to put more freakin' Pokemon in if you impatient idiots had just waited. They might have had time to put in Johto and Kanto too! Derp. And yeah I know about the competition from Yu-Gi-Oh and stuff, but still guys. -- Submitted By: (blurbdragon) on July 26, 2010, 1:54 am

Where do I begin? I can think of many boning moments: the haircut, working with Usher, collaborating with Ludacris, his sucky songs especially "Baby," using autotune, being on the cover of nearly every magazine, causing tweens to riot, appearing on that awful "We Are The World" remake and other charity songs, appearing on CSI which is also a boning moment for the show, the comic book, and the fact that he's everywhere and that everything he does is considered news. LOOOVVVEED the fact DS9 had a complete new setting with new rules, new politics, new characters. Mike Myers is another SNL comedian who had a lot longer and more prominent career than he probably should have (Rob Schneider, Adam Sandler, David Spade, etc.) Travelton, I agree with your statements on the Eastern religion thing. That's a big pet peeve of mine, not because I'm against Eastern religion per say, but it seems to be one of those religious things people do to be different for the sake of being different. That bugs me. -- Submitted By: (kingbk) on July 24, 2010, 4:47 pm

But keep in mind that in US Football, you have to wear a whole bunch of protective gear, while in the other football, you don't wear any of that protective gear, not to mention that you actually use your feet. -- Submitted By: (cartooner) on July 24, 2010, 4:28 pm

Futurama - TV Shows
I can't say this show ever BTF, I can say the first three seasons were the best. They must haved changed writers, directors or something for the fourth season because the story plots and writing was that same. Even the direct-to-DVD movie's and the new episodes don't have that wit and freshness that the first three season's had. -- Submitted By: (workstoomuch) on July 24, 2010, 1:44 pm

FIFA World Cup - Random Topics
It's Soccer around here. Football is a game that men play, as opposed to the sissy-boy, euro-trash kickball game played on the other side of the pond. -- Submitted By: (BrewMaster) on July 23, 2010, 7:29 pm

Yu-Gi-Oh! - TV Shows
Screw the rules, I have- eh, let's not. A 4(No)Kids(InThisDayAndAge) is an automatic bone... but at least LittleKuriboo's Abridged Series is tolerable.... -- Submitted By: (NotABot55) on July 23, 2010, 12:46 am

FIFA World Cup - Random Topics
It's football; soccer was some made-up word the Brits forced on us way back when, and we were dumb enough to believe them! Calling it 'soccer' around a Man U or Arsenal game is a sure way to get your arse beat! FIFA can never bone, even with the hooligans and the vuvuzelas... something the No Fun League can never claim! -- Submitted By: (NotABot55) on July 22, 2010, 9:41 pm

During the "Year of Hell" episodes Janeway cuts off her hair than when the timeline is Restored, the ship is perfect, the crew are resurrected ,but oops Janeway's hair doesn't COME BAAAAAACK! Transformers - Movie Series
I can't wait for the inevitable reboot so we can get a real Transformers movie. Not a bunch of soldiers running around shooting at indistinguishable robotic monsters whilst college kids make sexual innuendos. -- Submitted By: (Travoltron) on July 22, 2010, 2:14 pm

Mike Myers - Celebrities
I read an interview with him right before Love Guru came out. He was so in love with himself and with Deepak Chopra. He basically said he doesn't even try to be funny anymore because he already knows he is. He is at one with funny, or something. And that he cared more about "educating" people in Indian spirituality than entertaining them. Is it just me, or does pursuit of Indian spirituality=automatic fishboning? (The Beatles come to mind.) -- Submitted By: (Travoltron) on July 22, 2010, 2:09 pm

Austin Powers - Movie Series
Mike Meyers is by all accounts a very arrogant and self-obsessed guy. I think that might have been the sequels' downfall-- Mike wanted to play all the roles. Austin Powers and Dr. Evil were good characters, but Fat Bastard and Goldmember were just stupid. Mike Meyers in a fat suit with a Scottish accent? That's not funny, it's just stupid. Same goes for Goldmember, what a stupid character. Also, this is the one time a prequel would have been a better idea than a sequel. Instead we got nonsense with time travel and Austin's wife being a robot. -- Submitted By: (Travoltron) on July 22, 2010, 1:58 pm

Isaac Hayes - Celebrities
Becoming a $cientologist is an instant-boning in my book. Hayes quitting South Park because of the episode that poked fun at $cientology was his final boning. -- Submitted By: (BigAl) on July 22, 2010, 8:15 am

Sonic the Hedgehog - Random Topics
I didn't care one way or another about Sonic - around the time he was Sega's mascot was when Sega was badmouthing Nintendo. Said badmouthing turned me away from Sega and turned me into a Nintendo fanboy. Now that the Nintendo/Sega feud is for the most part finished...Sonic means nothing to me. -- Submitted By: (BigAl) on July 22, 2010, 8:04 am

Onions - Random Topics
Onions, really? Is there anyway that they can change that can cause them to be but shadows of their former selves hence they jump the shark, bone the fish or nuke the fridge and thus never be liked as much again? This is a ridiculous topic, never boned will be those who like onions, day 1 will be ones allergic to onions or who do not like them and the crying thing is nitpicking. Onions never boned to me, the taste great. -- Submitted By: (johnnydough) on July 22, 2010, 1:11 am

NickelBack - Music Groups
He does look like a hound dog with SARS. Seriously, he has quite the mug. And his grating singing voice is like fingernails on a chalkboard. And yes, their songs all suck. -- Submitted By: (JayD) on July 21, 2010, 11:04 pm

Weird Al Yankovic - Music Groups
A Weird Al show is very entertaining. He has several costume changes, including the fat suit he wears during "Fat." He even comes into the audience during one song. I can't wait for his next album and he's suppose to make fun of Lady Gaga, so expect "Polka Face" to be on it, or maybe a parody of Queen's "Radio Gaga." -- Submitted By: (JayD) on July 21, 2010, 10:45 pm

1990's - Random Topics
The 1990s was a decade of change. Granted, one could say the same for almost any decade. The 1990s saw major changes in communication and computers with the Internet becoming public and mainstream. That was of course only one way in which the 90s changed everything. In some ways, the 1990s was a 60s wanabe. That does make sense however, given that the 90s was the decade in which at least some of the Baby Boomers kids' were teenagers. The 1990s saw entertainment want to be darker and edgier. In some ways, this paved the way for far higher quality entertainment. In other ways, it also gave some characters (and I know how strange that might sound) a sense of entitlement that it was okay and perhaps mandatory to be edgy simply because it was the 90s. The 1990s also saw a sharp increase in one annoying trend, that being parenting issues. That however, is a whole different post. The 1990s did have another annoying issue. That being the obsession with being politically correct. This is an issue I've been hesitant to point out of because of the concern that it's wrong for me to say this. However, it was something I noticed. One effect of wanting to be more politically correct was the idea that being anything but a white male somehow made you cool. Ending racism and sexism (or at least trying to) is good. However, giving preference to someone because of their race or gender is still discrimination. The difference being that it's just taking a different form. I understand that this was an effect of a society that gave preference to white males and that people were trying to even the playing field. However, I think it ended up punishing people for discrimination in which they never participated. That's not fair either. Having said that, I do feel that the 90s was an important decade. It was a decade of change that changed things in ways that we still feel today and generally for the better. The main issue of the 90s was that it was a decade that perhaps took the various trends and themes of the decade a little too seriously. It was as though it had the attitude that it was the 90s and the 90s are cool and edgy and people felt a need to be that way simply because it was the 90s. It was however, an important decade in my life given I was a teenager. It was awesome in ways yet obnoxious in others. Perhaps both at the same time. -- Submitted By: (ExplodingConsole) on July 21, 2010, 5:24 pm

Jenny McCarthy - Celebrities
I first heard of Jenny McCarthy when she was working on Singled Out - she seemed full of energy and pep, and was probably one of the reasons I tuned in time and time again. After she left Singled Out, she faded into the background - I almost never hear anything about her. -- Submitted By: (BigAl) on July 21, 2010, 12:21 pm

In Living Color - TV Shows
I didn't get into In Living Color till its last season - I was doubled over laughing at the Dirty Dozens game show (got me into "yo mama" insults). I watched it in reruns and eventually developed a liking for Homey the Clown, Fire Marshal Bill, and other recurring skits. I daresay it didn't feel the same after Damon Wayans left, but after Keenan left, the humor seemed forced at times. -- Submitted By: (BigAl) on July 21, 2010, 12:13 pm

Weird Al Yankovic - Music Groups
Saw him in concert July 20th...he's as good as ever, if not better! I'm thinking of a certain four-letter word right now, and anybody who says Weird Al sucked from the start is full of said four-letter word. -- Submitted By: (BigAl) on July 21, 2010, 12:09 pm
