Alien Movies - Movie Series
I regret to say that Prometheus was disappointing. Didn't tie into Alien well at all and didn't really make any sense. It was visually stunning, but the story often reminded me of Kingdom of the Crystal Skull and Star Trek V. The writer of LOST wrote it, and it shows. Stuff just happens and it is never explained. It ends on a cliffhanger for a sequel that may or may not happen. Meh. I'd recommend waiting to rent it unless you really need to see it in 3D. -- Submitted By: (Travoltron) on June 10, 2012, 5:50 pm

Game Of Thrones - TV Shows
I've heard some people compare it to Lord of the Rings, but I couldn't disagree more. This is the complete opposite of Lord of the Rings. I feel that this show is more akin to "I, Claudius". -- Submitted By: (Travoltron) on June 10, 2012, 5:36 pm

Finding Bigfoot - TV Shows
If these guys actually found Bigfoot it would be make international headlines months before the episode aired. So you KNOW they aren't going to find Bigfoot, so why watch this? -- Submitted By: (Travoltron) on June 5, 2012, 6:58 pm

Metallica - Music Groups
I remember when Load came out, all my friends turned their backs on Metallica. Except for this one kid. He kept telling us that Load was just a "prank" and that the REAL album was going to come out in another month or two. Metallica was going to reveal the prank, laugh at anyone that liked it, and return to their former glory. Still waiting on that one. -- Submitted By: (Travoltron) on June 3, 2012, 8:58 pm

Bicentennial Man (film) - Movie Series
This came out when I was living in Japan. Its title over there was "Andrew NDR114". Robin Williams was on TV promoting the movie, but because of the language barrier he was reduced to just making silly faces and sound effects to make the audience laugh-- like he was entertaining a baby. It was really embarrassing and I wish I would have recorded it. At the advice of friends, I never saw the flick. -- Submitted By: (Travoltron) on May 31, 2012, 10:37 pm

Animal Planet - Random Topics
I used to love this channel in its early years, but when I check it out now there's usually no animals, just reality shows. -- Submitted By: (Travoltron) on May 30, 2012, 11:50 pm

College - Random Topics
These colleges should be helping guide these kids though. They don't know what skills they'll need; at least I sure as hell didn't. I thought the things I was studying (Japanese and video production) were marketable and it turns out they weren't. I've got friends that have it even worse-- useless majors like communications and religion. Another guy I know did nothing but read sci-fi books and make electronic music and now he's unemployed and on welfare. -- Submitted By: (Travoltron) on May 30, 2012, 4:07 pm

Earth Day - Random Topics
Most of the hippies I knew in college came from wealthy families. They spent 4 years doing nothing but smoking dope and protesting for ridiculous causes (Mumia Abu-Jamal was the cause du jour when I was in college; nowadays it is anti-Israel activism) and went home, shaved off their dreadlocks and had went to work for Daddy's company. -- Submitted By: (Travoltron) on May 23, 2012, 5:35 pm

Governator, The - TV Shows
The preview for this show looked atrocious; like a Saturday TV Funhouse skit except not funny. I was not sad to see this show canceled due to Arnold's personal life. Now it's going to become one of those shelved projects of legend like Turn-On episode 2 and The Day the Clown Cried. -- Submitted By: (Travoltron) on May 21, 2012, 11:24 pm

Dinosaurs - TV Shows
I watched the first few episodes when it debuted and wasn't all that impressed. It just seemed like rehashed Flintstones to me. Years later when I was overseas and desperate for English-language programming, I noticed Dinosaurs of all things was airing, so I started watching it. At some point, the show broke off and found its own voice and got pretty good! One prescient episode that I remember had Earl working as the head of a TV network. He created all kinds of shows aimed at the lowest common denominator and they were huge hits, but was making the population dumber as a result. This was years before reality TV! The only show of his I remember was "Puppies in a Box" which is pretty similar to the current show, "Too Cute" on Animal Planet. -- Submitted By: (Travoltron) on May 17, 2012, 7:58 pm

Super Mario Bros. (film) - Movie Series
There was an anime movie made in Japan in 1986. It wasn't anything special, but was Shakespeare compared to the live-action movie. And of course, the crappy one is easily available everywhere on DVD and the good one was only released briefly on VHS in Japan. -- Submitted By: (Travoltron) on May 17, 2012, 12:54 am

Facebook - Websites
New type of Facebook poster? What do you call people that constantly post crap like this? http://tinyurl.com/wonkagod It's like an unfunny spinoff of LOLcats where passive-aggressives can dish out political jabs under the guise of "humor". -- Submitted By: (Travoltron) on May 9, 2012, 1:09 pm

Robotech - TV Shows
I was so confused as a kid when it suddenly switched from Macross to Southern Cross. I was so turned off by the new characters and setting that I stopped watching the show. Robotech has aged terribly and I'd advise people to just watch the uncut DVDs of Macross, Southern Cross, and Mospeada that are now available. -- Submitted By: (Travoltron) on May 9, 2012, 12:37 pm

Highlander: The Raven - TV Shows
What a disaster this show was. It was pathetic how Elizabeth Gracen "coincidentally" confessed to her affair with Bill Clinton at the same time her show premiered. I don't think she succeeded in drawing any new viewers with her scandal because the show was axed. -- Submitted By: (Travoltron) on May 3, 2012, 4:59 pm

Mel Gibson - Celebrities
Another insane rant taped, another excuse from Mel. It's always someone else's fault. Mel, you shouldn't be treating any human being like this, let alone in front of their children. -- Submitted By: (Travoltron) on April 30, 2012, 1:02 am

Spider-Man - Movie Series
So many reasons to hate 3. Venom was miscast. But I hated the retcon of Sandman being Uncle Ben's killer. That was stupid by itself, but then Spider-Man just letting him get away with it at the end was just unbearable. I know, it's supposed to be some "deep" message about forgiveness or something. If I wanted to watch killers getting away with murder, I'd watch the 10:00 News, not a superhero flick. -- Submitted By: (Travoltron) on April 28, 2012, 4:38 pm

Cops - TV Shows
Word on the street is that FOX has canned COPS. -- Submitted By: (Travoltron) on April 26, 2012, 12:47 am

BraveStarr - TV Shows
Actually Galaxy Rangers and Bravestarr came out around the same time. But I agree, none of the Filmation shows hold up well at all. -- Submitted By: (Travoltron) on April 20, 2012, 3:04 pm

Adventures of Teddy Ruxpin, The - TV Shows
The serialized nature of the show was certainly unique for the time. I don't remember a whole lot of details about it. Teddy Ruxpin had to called all 6 or 7 of these magic crystals, each holding a different power, before the villain got them. I remember the show ended with Teddy getting all the crystals and finding his long-lost father. All looked well and good, until at the very last moment, the main villain took back one of the crystals (the amnesia-causing one)! I guess that was supposed to be a cliffhanger for the second season that never happened. I hate it when shows do that. -- Submitted By: (Travoltron) on April 19, 2012, 1:46 am

Batman - Movie Series
I'm kind of worried that when the Nolan series ends, WB might be tempted to go campy again to be "different". -- Submitted By: (Travoltron) on April 16, 2012, 8:08 pm
