Telemarketing/Telesales - Random Topics
How many telemarketers does it take to screw in a light bulb? One, but they have to do it while you're having dinner. -- Submitted By: (BigAl) on November 8, 2010, 12:15 pm

HeadOn - Random Topics
Annoying commercials take my vote. With TV shows being mostly stupid reality shows and commercials being major ear-worms, it's no wonder I almost never watch TV now. -- Submitted By: (BigAl) on November 8, 2010, 12:09 pm

Home Depot - Random Topics
With all those reasons listed, chances are my folks were turned off by those changes with Home Depot and went to Lowe's instead for their hardware needs. -- Submitted By: (BigAl) on November 8, 2010, 11:54 am

National Football League (NFL) - Random Topics
I don't particularly care about the NFL (except maybe when the Jaguars are doing wonderful - which is once in a blue moon these days). The no-hit rule or whatever it is that wuss Goodell and his cronies recently put in led me to this conclusion - those wimps should wrap kerosene-soaked rags around their ankles so the ants don't climb up their legs and eat their candy asses. -- Submitted By: (BigAl) on November 8, 2010, 11:43 am

Ernest movies - Movie Series
I really enjoyed Ernest Goes To Camp (fighting back against the miners was so epic!), Ernest Goes to Jail was pretty good, I enjoy Ernest Saves Christmas and Ernest Scared Stupid. Ernest Rides Again was meh at best. Haven't seen Ernest Goes To School, but those that came after that (Slam Dunk Ernest, Ernest Goes To Africa, and Ernest In the Army)...it's no wonder why they were direct-to-DVD. All the same, Jim Varney will be sorely missed. -- Submitted By: (BigAl) on November 7, 2010, 8:29 am

Honey, I Shrunk the Kids - Movie Series
Honey, I Shrunk the Kids was pretty good. Honey, I Blew Up the Kid...not quite as good. The direct-to-DVD sequel, Honey We Shrunk Ourselves...almost nothing great about it. It was nowhere near as good as the first two. -- Submitted By: (BigAl) on November 7, 2010, 8:27 am

Home Alone - Movie Series
First one was hilarious (I loved how he used that gangster movie with the pizza guy), second one was so-so (but gets to be not so great upon repeated viewings). Third and fourth ones...PASS. -- Submitted By: (BigAl) on November 7, 2010, 8:25 am

Nutty Professor, The (1996 film) - Movie Series
I saw the first Nutty Professor (1996) in theaters and probably would have enjoyed it more if the audience didn't scream like some nutcase opened fire on them whenever something funny was said or done. Second one...what the hell were they thinking? -- Submitted By: (BigAl) on November 7, 2010, 8:21 am

Shrek - Movie Series
First Shrek movie was brilliant, second one not quite as great but pretty good. Shrek the Third...at best, meh. Haven't seen the fourth one, but the smart money says it was one last attempt at whoring the franchise for another few bucks. -- Submitted By: (BigAl) on November 7, 2010, 8:20 am

James Bond - Movie Series
Boned - Connery left and replaced by Lazenby. Boned back - Connery did another movie (Diamonds Are Forever). Boned - Timothy Dalton takes the role, then the series goes on hiatus after Licence To Kill. Boned back - Pierce Brosnan is Bond in GoldenEye. I'd have to see Quantum of Solace to see if the series boned again or not. Casino Royale with Daniel Craig wasn't bad, but not quite memorable. -- Submitted By: (BigAl) on November 7, 2010, 8:18 am

Short Circuit - Movie Series
The first Short Circuit movie...lots of memorable/quotable moments, and it was funny as all get-out. Short Circuit 2...not as many funny moments, but still fairly good. A third movie would be a waste of time, but you know how those Hollywood types are - they don't have any good ideas, so they rehash something that was good long ago. -- Submitted By: (BigAl) on November 7, 2010, 8:16 am

Every Which Way But Loose - Movie Series
Although I'm sure the execs were leery at giving something like Every Which Way But Loose a shot, those that did were glad they did. Every Which Way But Loose and Any Which Way You Can are two of my favorite Clint Eastwood films because of how funny they are. -- Submitted By: (BigAl) on November 7, 2010, 8:13 am

Beethoven - Movie Series
First one wasn't bad, second one was meh, after that...I'm not going there. -- Submitted By: (BigAl) on November 6, 2010, 10:41 am

Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory - Movie Series
The original movie with Gene Wilder was one that did NOT require a remake, plain and simple. But, as always, the top brass in Hollywood demonstrate they have sewage for brains. I wouldn't touch the remake with Depp with a 10-foot pole (or a 7-foot Lithuanian). -- Submitted By: (BigAl) on November 6, 2010, 10:38 am

Parents Television Council (PTC) - Random Topics
The PTC sounds like a bunch of whiny crybabies who never heard of the off switch or monitoring what their kids watch. -- Submitted By: (BigAl) on November 6, 2010, 10:19 am

View, The - TV Shows
I agree with your friend's assessment, Robert. "The Spew" is the first thing that comes to mind when I think about these yapping harpies. -- Submitted By: (BigAl) on November 4, 2010, 9:15 am

California - Random Topics
I lived in California a long time ago - I'm glad I got out of there when I did. If I was living there now, the first thing I'd do is look for a home somewhere else - they can take their debt and choke on it. Anytime I think I have it bad here in Florida, I think about how much worse it is in California and feel better as a result. -- Submitted By: (BigAl) on November 4, 2010, 9:06 am

Chris "Boomer" Berman - Celebrities
I agree about his home-run call - I prefer the late Harry Caray's "It might be, it could be...IT IS!" by a lot. -- Submitted By: (BigAl) on November 3, 2010, 10:07 am

Affirmative action - Random Topics
Affirmative action is an attempt to "rectify" for "past wrongs" - no amount of money or easy jobs will change what happened in the past. What's done is done, MOVE FORWARD. It's one thing to know about past mistakes so they won't be repeated, it's another to show favor towards one group over another because of what happened in the past. -- Submitted By: (BigAl) on November 3, 2010, 10:05 am
