Paris Hilton - Celebrities
@JayD - I just read the pot charges have been dropped against her. Doesn't surprise me, actually - money talks, Paris walks. -- Submitted By: (BigAl) on July 3, 2010, 8:14 am

Michael Moore - Celebrities
That's a tough one, PYLrulz. After mulling it over for the past few days, I'd say both Moore and RATM are equally hypocritical - just the biggest hypocrite in their respective field. If it wasn't for Moore using his Oscar acceptance speech (he won for Bowling For Columbine long ago) as an opportunity to bash Bush, I probably would have said RATM, hands down. -- Submitted By: (BigAl) on July 3, 2010, 8:02 am

Golden Raspberry Awards/The Razzies - Random Topics
@Robert - Friedberg and Seltzer were nominated quite a few times in '09, but didn't win one. I recall they lost Worst Picture to Love Guru, and I'm certain they lost Worst Director to Uwe Boll that year. I don't remember which other ones they were nominated for or who won it instead of them. -- Submitted By: (BigAl) on July 2, 2010, 7:22 am

Christmas - Random Topics
It bugs me when there are people so thin-skinned and oversensitive to the point they insist everyone has to say "Happy Holidays" - but it bothers me even more when the Christmas music, decorations, and/or advertisements start around October. A place for everything, and everything in its place. -- Submitted By: (BigAl) on July 1, 2010, 4:30 pm

Golden Raspberry Awards/The Razzies - Random Topics
A great way to point out who did the worst in the past year. Last year, for example, although Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer (the no-talent hacks behind Date Movie, Epic Movie, Meet the Spartans, and Disaster Movie) were nominated for quite a few Razzies for the last two examples I listed - they didn't win. Still, though, I haven't heard a peep out of those two - guess they finally realized they can't write or direct their way out of a wet paper bag. -- Submitted By: (BigAl) on June 29, 2010, 10:31 am

Press Your Luck - TV Shows
The original Press Your Luck, although the board was recalibrated with new patterns after Michael Larson's big win (I saw it originally when I was a few weeks away from my 8th birthday), didn't seem to bone. It still had its moments post-Larson (e.g. the spin battle between Lori and Cathy, the contestant who swore like a sailor when he hit a fourth Whammy). Whammy, on the other hand...just didn't feel the same (different board, different host, different way of playing...although some of the Whammy animations made me laugh like the spelling bee one). -- Submitted By: (BigAl) on June 29, 2010, 10:25 am

Nobel Peace Prize - Random Topics
And now since Obama won the Nobel Peace Prize, I daresay the Nobel Prize in and of itself has become irrelevant and meaningless. It's obvious which way their voting committee leans and they don't examine the reason(s) why certain people should get it. -- Submitted By: (BigAl) on June 28, 2010, 5:29 pm

Guinness World Records - Random Topics
I recall when there was a TV show regarding this, and most of the stuff they showed were awful. Who gives a @#$% about how wide someone can open their eyes?! Snorting noodles out your nose...give me a break! It's not something you'd brag to anybody. It boned when they focused on disgusting instead of stuff that REALLY matters. -- Submitted By: (BigAl) on June 28, 2010, 5:22 pm

Major League Baseball - Random Topics
MLB went on a downward trend after the advent of free agency - that was when owners went hog-wild and started shelling out millions of dollars for players, regardless of their past performance. Now owners are crying poor, fewer people are coming to games because it's too expensive...guess what? Nobody held a gun to the owners' heads and told them "You must pay Joe Blow that much money or else". If owners ran their business(es) the way they run their teams, they'd be out of business so fast it would make their heads spin. -- Submitted By: (BigAl) on June 28, 2010, 9:50 am

Michael Moore - Celebrities
Michael Moore is a loudmouthed hypocrite. He whines and kvetches about capitalism being so "evil" - newsflash, lardball...capitalism was WHAT MADE YOU SO FILTHY RICH IN THE FIRST PLACE! -- Submitted By: (BigAl) on June 24, 2010, 9:14 pm

Hugo Chavez - Celebrities
Chavez is a windbag who loves the smell of his own farts and is blind to the reality in front of him. I was glad when his bid to be president-for-life was shot down by the will of the people - there may still be hope for Valenzuela after all. -- Submitted By: (BigAl) on June 24, 2010, 9:10 pm

Paul McCartney - Celebrities
Regarding Travoltron's latest post, I have to say...wow, Paul, way to compare apples and oranges there. Global warming has been proven as a myth - the Holocaust, on the other hand, was very real. That idiotic statement of Paul's lends more ammo to the argument that a vegan diet causes brain shrinkage. -- Submitted By: (BigAl) on June 24, 2010, 9:03 pm

GameFAQs - Websites
My only complaint about GameFAQs is the Character Battles. It ALWAYS ends up with the same four finalists - Mario, Link, Cloud, and Sephiroth. Retire those four and give other characters a chance to win...fuhgeddaboudit! -- Submitted By: (BigAl) on June 24, 2010, 12:37 pm

Critic, The - TV Shows
Still rocks today, and some of the jokes still hold up. I still get a laugh out of the Escape From the Big Apple video game from the first episode. -- Submitted By: (BigAl) on June 23, 2010, 4:32 pm

Ticketmaster - Random Topics
I'd rather go to the box office and get the tickets rather than deal with Ticketmaster's inflated prices. I spent $45 at the box office to see "Weird Al" Yankovic in July...I shudder to think how much that ticket would've cost me if I used Ticketmaster. -- Submitted By: (BigAl) on June 23, 2010, 4:28 pm

Monty Python's Flying Circus - TV Shows
Never boned, not by a long shot. Granted, the fourth season wasn't as great without John Cleese, but they managed to make do all the same. -- Submitted By: (BigAl) on June 23, 2010, 4:23 pm

Pup Named Sccoby-Doo, A - TV Shows
Sucked because Fred was an irrational bigmouth, Daphne was a vain snob, and Velma said "Jenkies" way too often. End of each episode...Fred accuses Red Herring even when there is NO EVIDENCE that he was involved. Yawn. -- Submitted By: (BigAl) on June 22, 2010, 11:26 pm

Whoopi Goldberg - Celebrities
I didn't think highly of her at first, but now that I know where she stands politically and the fact she defended that slimebag Polanski affirmed one thing - she's not worth watching. She demonstrated she wasn't the brightest crayon in the box after saying McCain would bring slavery back. Does she honestly think either party would up and repeal the 13th Amendment? Whatever "medications" she is using, she better reduce the dosage. -- Submitted By: (BigAl) on June 22, 2010, 11:16 pm

4Kids Entertainment - Random Topics
I didn't know what 4Kids was all about until I saw this: http://www.vgcats.com/comics/?strip_id=145 To do what they did to an anime is awful, but telling irate fans where to stick it is arrogance of the worst kind. -- Submitted By: (BigAl) on June 22, 2010, 11:11 pm
