Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman - TV Shows
One of the cable channels has been re-running this program, and of course my wife is DVR-ing the episodes and watching them anytime she has a free moment. I sat down and watched a few of these and it finally came to me why I HATE this show with such a passion. With the obvious exception of Fantasyman Sully (Joe Lando) and later that other guy (played by John Schneider as Joe Lando's potential replacement) just about every other male on that show is portrayed as an insufferable a-hole or borderline retarded. My wife and I had this discussion last night and when she thought about it, she actually agreed with my assessment. She still likes the show regardless. -- Submitted By: (Friedrich_Feuerstein) on September 19, 2011, 11:41 am

Celebrity Ghost Stories - TV Shows
"... but I have to call bullshit on this, basically because they're actors." Thank you Jp! My thoughts exactly. I'm sure they were WELL compensated for their 'stories'. Like a previous comment, I don't believe in ghosts either so I already have a real hard time taking this show seriously in the one or two times I've attempted to watch it. The celebrity gets about one third through their story and I'm like "Oh bullcrap!" and then I switch over to see what's on Adult Swim. -- Submitted By: (Friedrich_Feuerstein) on September 7, 2011, 9:17 am

Star Wars - Movie Series
As I said, it didn't bother me one way or the other, but I do concur it was fine as it was. -- Submitted By: (Friedrich_Feuerstein) on September 7, 2011, 9:10 am

Star Wars - Movie Series
I saw the clip- Honestly, it didn't bother me much one way or the other. Seriously, when I saw it the first time back in the early 80's, I wondered why there wasn't any dialogue (or some kind of monologue) there to begin with. -- Submitted By: (Friedrich_Feuerstein) on September 2, 2011, 9:11 am

Bachelor Pad - TV Shows
As if The Bachelor and The Bachelorette aren't stinking the airwaves up enough, along comes ABC to drop another log into the veritable toilet bowl that is their Primetime Reality Show line up. Just wish someone at the American Broadcasting Corporation would get a clue and flush. -- Submitted By: (Friedrich_Feuerstein) on September 1, 2011, 2:54 pm

Michael Richards - Celebrities
Now granted, the hecklers were being d1(k5- but I think any professional comic would tell you that's the chance you take when you're up there, and how you respond to it is very important. But I'm sure Mr. Richards had enough celebrity pull that he could have induced security to throw the bums out. However, MR made his 'World Apology Tour' immediately after the event and all I can say is from one human being to another, good luck. -- Submitted By: (Friedrich_Feuerstein) on August 31, 2011, 10:01 am

Michael Richards - Celebrities
Michael Richards was at his funny best when he was on the early 80's sketch comedy show Fridays (on ABC). 'Spazzy' freakish weirdo characters were his specialty. He was also pretty funny on the Weird Al Yankovich vehicle 'UHF'. On Seinfeld, his Kramer character was- okay (at best). Now, maybe he was having a really bad day on that fateful night and maybe he had had just a little too much to drink before the show at the comedy club, but I lost pretty much any respect I had for him as a performer when I saw the video on that. -- Submitted By: (Friedrich_Feuerstein) on August 31, 2011, 9:53 am

Alien Nation - TV Shows
Started out strong but the premise became a bit weakened and tired after awhile. -- Submitted By: (Friedrich_Feuerstein) on August 31, 2011, 9:44 am

Betty White - Celebrities
I hear what you're saying Dolfan, but you must understand I have a rather dark and almost inconsistently off-the-wall sense of humor (and it even sometimes borders on the juvenile, :)) -Honestly, I can't really comment on 'Hot In Cleveland' because I just don't watch it. Basically, because I think the whole premise of the show seems to be built around 'Betty White being raunchy' and for me, that would get old really fast. Amending what I said earlier, the whole bit was "funny and refreshing" WHEN it was sudden and new particularly when she did it on SNL (and I don't want to hear about how much "SNL sucks now..." I know, I know that's another subject altogether) because it was so - in a word- unexpected (I mean, that's what makes the punchline of a joke so funny, it's typically unexpected). However, I would say that at this point the 'joke' has gotten a bit stale now, and now that Betty white has gone in that unexpected direction, had her fun and infused her career with new life- perhaps she should cool it a little with the Jr. High humor and use her talents (and new found fame) to focus on more worthy efforts. -- Submitted By: (Friedrich_Feuerstein) on August 26, 2011, 10:57 am

Betty White - Celebrities
I think the appeal of Betty White at this point in her career is the fact that she's sort of this living contradiction. She has all the outward appearances and mannerisms of a sweet grandmotherly type lady and then- BOOM- we get blindsided by her when she busts out a raunchy joke. It does seem to be reaching the boning point. For awhile, I had to admit that it was refreshing and amusing to see a lady her age cutting loose and having some no-holds-barred fun with the third act of her career. But this whole Betty White mania is beginning to get a wee bit old now. -- Submitted By: (Friedrich_Feuerstein) on August 25, 2011, 10:07 am

Kiss - Music Groups
You know, I have enjoyed rock music for as long as I can remember, and throughout the 1970's I would hear guys at school just rave over how utterly awesome KISS was (even though, oddly enough, I NEVER heard any of their music on the radio). Finally, I befriended someone who had about every KISS album released (up to that point). He let me borrow a few when I demonstrated little knowledge of their catalog. I was very underwhelmed by whatI heard (with an isolated exception or two). -- Submitted By: (Friedrich_Feuerstein) on August 14, 2011, 10:45 pm

National Lampoon's Family Vacation - Movie Series
And dare we even consider raising the spectre of that made for TV travesty known as 'National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation 2: Cousin Eddie's Island Adventure'? WTH?!? -- Submitted By: (Friedrich_Feuerstein) on August 11, 2011, 10:30 am

National Lampoon's Family Vacation - Movie Series
Here's my take: National Lampoon's Vacation- CLASSIC! Loved it then. Love it now. National Lampoon's European Vacation. Meh. It was, in a word, okay. National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. Was a little confused about the continuity regarding the kids, but otherwise hilarious. A holiday classic, IMO. National Lampoon's Vegas Vacation- Boooooooo. Now you're just milking it. -- Submitted By: (Friedrich_Feuerstein) on August 10, 2011, 10:44 am
