Flo - TV Shows
I will add though, this should not be construed as a knock against the talent of Polly Holliday. I've seen other work that she has done and she has very broad range as an actress. -- Submitted By: (Friedrich_Feuerstein) on March 3, 2010, 8:32 pm

Flo - TV Shows
Yes, so the show started out strong in the ratings, and one could argue that it was the time slot change that killed it, but I NEVER thought of the character of Flo, as funny as she was on Alice, as anything more than a supporting character. And I certainly never thought the character was strong enough to carry an entire show. Frankly, I'd think that if the show had really been that good, it certainly would've survived a time change. -- Submitted By: (Friedrich_Feuerstein) on March 3, 2010, 8:29 pm

Flo (Progressive Insurance) - TV Shows
For the record: I am a guy, and I DO NOT think Flo is hot. Not trying to be mean. Just being honest. Good night and have a pleasant tomorrow. -- Submitted By: (Friedrich_Feuerstein) on March 3, 2010, 3:19 pm

Carol Burnett and Friends - TV Shows
My favorite moments from Carol Burnett & Friends were the unscripted moments where Harvey Korman would get so cracked up at Tim Conway that he couldn't continue his lines and so Tim Conway would just obviously fill the void with improv- meanwhile everybody is now on the verge of completely losing it- the audience knows it and they're laughing right along as TC just keeps plugging away.... Classic stuff. -- Submitted By: (Friedrich_Feuerstein) on March 3, 2010, 2:52 pm

Brady Bunch Hour, The - TV Shows
According to Barry Williams book 'Growing Up Brady: I was a Teenaged Greg', this was the ONLY iteration of 'The Brady Bunch' that Robert Reed was actually jazzed about doing. -- Submitted By: (Friedrich_Feuerstein) on March 3, 2010, 2:45 pm

My Hero - TV Shows
As for the question as to why O'Hanlon was replaced- an article on the subject I read a couple of years ago mentioned that it was O'Hanlon's decision to leave the show. Not sure why. I don't recall the article going into all that. -- Submitted By: (Friedrich_Feuerstein) on March 3, 2010, 2:05 pm

My Hero - TV Shows
Not to knock the talent of James Dreyfus, but this show was great until Ardal O'Hanlon left. The 'canon' explanation for the different appearance was acceptable but the chemistry between between the characters just wasn't quite there. Switching gears, has anyone ever noticed how similar in some respects this show was to 'Mork & Mindy'? > Wacky male alien comes to Earth > Alien falls for Earth woman and begins 'shacking up' with her > Alien has a contentious relationship with Earth woman's Parent(s) > Local Crazy Guy who knows Alien's identity but no one believes him because he's crazy > Wacky older lady > Earth woman and Alien have offspring (who are just as strange as their Alien father) I'm sure there are more similarities, but I suppose there were enough differences to make 'My Hero' a unique slant on the story. Regardless, I enjoyed My Hero during it's O'Hanlon years. After that, it 'boned.' -- Submitted By: (Friedrich_Feuerstein) on March 3, 2010, 2:02 pm

Bradys, The - TV Shows
This was doomed from the beginning. for several reasons: Take a beloved sit-com family from the 1970's and try to reinvent the show as a grown-up early '90s family drama. It just didn't (and couldn't) work. People just won't buy it. Come on, Marcia as an alcoholic? Bobby as a paraplegic? Sure, I realize that bad things happen to people in real life, but in many ways (for me at least) the Brady Bunch was not about real life. It was goofy fun with maybe a glimmer of realism. Also, the cast on this thing was too freaking huge. Too many characters to keep up with. BONE! -- Submitted By: (Friedrich_Feuerstein) on March 3, 2010, 12:55 pm

Freaks and Geeks - TV Shows
This show didn't get a chance to 'bone.' I never understood why this show didn't perform better in the ratings. Also, the fact that Linda Cardellini looked almost exactly like a girl I was just 'head-over-heels' for in high school helped. It was a funny show, but it was so real and pretty true to the era (circa 1979). -- Submitted By: (Friedrich_Feuerstein) on March 2, 2010, 5:04 pm

NASA - Random Topics
Oh I voted 'never boned.' Make no mistake, I'm a big fan of the program. With all the innovation it's given us, I certainly believe that NASA should pee farther more often. ;) -- Submitted By: (Friedrich_Feuerstein) on March 2, 2010, 4:14 pm

Office, The - TV Shows
Okay, I've seen promos touting "A very special episode of The Office" and I think it involves a baby. Do I need to fire up the deep fat fryer and set out the malt vinegar? -- Submitted By: (Friedrich_Feuerstein) on March 1, 2010, 4:54 pm

Brady Bunch Movies, The - Movie Series
The first movie was pure genius! It was a wonderfully executed parody of the actual series and I thought the actors did a fantastic job mimicking the original Brady Bunch characters. Basically, it seems that Sherwood Schwartz (who produced the movie), decided to play 'what if' with his creation and put them into a 'Fish out of water' scenario. Almost as if the Brady family went into some sort of suspended animation in 1975 and were awakened in the 1990's. The whole juxtaposition element in this story was truly inspired and I laughed all the way through this movie. For me, it 'Boned' when they decided to milk it further and make the sequels. -- Submitted By: (Friedrich_Feuerstein) on February 26, 2010, 9:44 am

Hometime - TV Shows
When I was in college, my friend Jeff and I would tune into this show on Saturday afternoons (when we had nothing else better to do). We thought JoAnne Liebler was pretty cute. Jeff, once said "MAN! She's CUTE- and she can build a f----ing HOUSE!" Yes, Jeff had been drinking. -- Submitted By: (Friedrich_Feuerstein) on February 25, 2010, 5:03 pm

Charmings, The - TV Shows
I could not stand this insipid show. That laugh track- that hair trigger laugh track that popped off every 3 seconds. One time (I was in college when this show was on) two friends and I sat down to watch this show with a 12 pack (4 beers each) and we agreed to take a drink of beer every time the laugh track sounded. We went through the entire 12-pack before the show was over. -- Submitted By: (Friedrich_Feuerstein) on February 25, 2010, 4:56 pm

Teletubbies - TV Shows
My daughter used to LOVE this show. She began to love it even more when, as she got a little older, I would watch it with her and MST3K it all the way through. She would just about split her sides laughing when I did that. -- Submitted By: (Friedrich_Feuerstein) on February 25, 2010, 4:46 pm

Family Ties - TV Shows
I could never get into this show. The ONly reason I watched it for awhile was that strangers on the street kept telling me "You look like Skippy from Family Ties." Guess I had to see what it was all about. -- Submitted By: (Friedrich_Feuerstein) on February 15, 2010, 1:36 pm
