I could only think of one movie (and maybe there might be one or two others that I cant think of at the moment) that was actually successful as a television show, that being M*A*S*H. Why so many people think a movie could equal a good television series more times than not, I dont know. Sure, pollution is bad, and im all for a clean enviroment, but the entire history of earth, as has been said, it has heated up, and it has cooled down. Agreed on having to jump through a ton of hoops to "Catch 'em all". Probably. I live in Pennsylvania, and the Flyers and Penguins are huge around here. Even living in Lancaster, there is a hugely popular minor league team up the road (Hershey Bears).
