Mamas & the Papas, The - Music Groups
Oooh....Travoltron and Stephanie....what you guys wrote...I forgot about that molestation...Michelle was pretty hot....I still love their music though..helped make Dunhill/ABC records a force, though. -- Submitted By: (PokeyJHorse) on May 24, 2015, 3:34 pm

American Dreams - TV Shows
One you can't deny: Meg aka Brittany Snow getting her career stardom on was one very exemplary thing about this show. She went to "Pacifer" (starring Vin Diesel), then back again to early 60s in "Hairspray" to sing her heart out as the evil Amber, then to the two "Pitch Perfect" movies (second one has been the #1 movie and a very huge success since open day) as singer Chloe (singing...you can see several patterns, that and the early 60s concerning "American Dreams" and "Pitch perfect"..oh, and also "John Tucker' which was a non musical and others.) So Brittany is something that us millions of fans can thank this show for.. -- Submitted By: (PokeyJHorse) on May 19, 2015, 11:37 pm

Fansites - Random Topics
If the fansites are dedicated to the "Shining Time Station" verison's lead (most known today as Frenchy in the classic "Grease"), DiDi Conn aka Stacey Jones, then it's understandable.. -- Submitted By: (PokeyJHorse) on May 19, 2015, 10:56 pm

Three Stooges, The - Celebrities
The Three Stooges's three Bone the Fish categories, this Celeb one, the TV one, and the Movie one...Hey, don't be quite so hard on Joe Besser..sure as a stooge he left quite a lot to be desired but he was still funny..just out-of-place amongst Moe & Larry. He had his earlier Columbia shorts (SMALL WORLD, huh...) in 1946 and did comic radio network sitcom guest spots but yeah, his truly funny sissy persona really didn't fit in with those other guys, and then he had a rather hit and miss 1970s Sat AM cartoon voice career, though in early 1960s, like on the Alvin show as an imaginary dragon he played a dragon. Curly Joe DeRita could also be a shark jumper/fish boner as well,...each third stooge and Larry and Moe brought something unqiue...Shemp would have been the second best next to Curly asd third (the Emil that PrinceJ mentions is Emil Sitka, who had been costarring on the Columbia theatricals with the stooges.) But back to Joe Besser, I personally like him, but he's neither first (Curly, soitenly!!) or second best third StoogeTM(Shemp) but FAR from the worst (Curly Joe), but the point was ALL the third stooges were pretty funny. It's just that, being a sissy who would not even let anyone TOUCH him, Joe Besser tended to be out of his element in Curly's place. JOe, and Shemp, as well. Just that only Joe went, pun, untouched. -- Submitted By: (PokeyJHorse) on May 14, 2015, 8:36 pm

Whitney Houston - Music Groups
All that I can say is that too bad that she wasted a lot of her life on drugs and relatively bad singing, but all I can say is condolences to her far more entertaining relatives like Dionne Warwicke (NOW THERE's MY childhood! :)) -- Submitted By: (PokeyJHorse) on May 8, 2015, 9:44 pm

Smurfs, The - TV Shows
As with Scooby Doo, when they first appeared. Sad to see theatrical and very early television animators, background artists, layout people, voice actors, film cutters, musical directors and musicians, writers, et. al. and a once great (before reaching the USA) possibly excellent idea be turned into Care Bears/Pinky, The Brain and Elmyra/greeting card cutesiness.... sad. THIS from first hand, or, shall we say, first hoof, from a supporting player to Gumby who saw HIMSELF and Gumby and the gang retooled and ruined in 1987 for a new series of episodes..(and this after THREE...yep, count 'em, THREE Gumby series (plural) since the first batch (including 1955-56's "It's Howdy Doody Time" episodes). Granted, there IS Jokey, voiced by June Foray (who, like her boss, Jay Ward on Bullwinkle KNOWS something about true "'toon" comedy), but I'll stick with jay Ward. Hanna-Barbera? (They did this). Stick with the 1957-1964 stuff.. The Smurfs? Seek the Belgian Comics...(Though the movies seem to be much funnier and I love Katy Perry, as Smurfette..but I'll take the 1960s Hanna-Barbera, even some 70s cartoons. ) And as for the original Smnurfette Lucille Bliss, I'll stick with anything she did in the 60s or before (the original Anastasia in Cinderella by Disney.) -- Submitted By: (PokeyJHorse) on May 7, 2015, 10:25 pm

Care Bears, The - TV Shows
Absolutely surprised that Peggy Charren and ACT criticized this for commercialism instead of praising the Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids like moralizing (but then, similar things have happened:i.e.,Katy Perry's parents banning her from watching Smurfs on grounds of being evil rather than grounds of the opposite LOL). Yech. Gave Nelvana Ltd. & Canada and BEARS a bad name (again LOL)). -- Submitted By: (PokeyJHorse) on April 26, 2015, 10:58 pm

Raccoons, The - TV Shows
A cartoon raccoon should, by the identify of his mask, be a bandit, or a Bugs Bunny or Phil Silvers conman. -- Submitted By: (PokeyJHorse) on April 24, 2015, 12:40 am

Josie and the Pussycats - TV Shows
I sometimes wonder if this adaptation (whose crime solving and group elements didn't exist in the earlier comics in the 1960s) wasn't some typical TV merger on purpose, of Phil Spector's girl trios and "Nancy Drew"....a lot of tv shows (Columbia/HB's space age "Partridges" came from an attempted Judy Jetson and Partridge Family in the present (1970s) pair of shows but NO ONE at CBS could make up their mind, so the space age Partridges in 1974, and Josie itself was to be the (what I would think a more interesting concept) "Scooby-Doo"'s original concept with some characters that predates Scooby and that franchise and gang evolved from that with the songs eliminated tioll their relgaiton second season (1970-71, same as Josie) to background songs.BTW Josie had background songs played by the group WHEN THE GANG WAS RUNNING...and you'd see them running AND at the SAME DAMN time playing music...... -- Submitted By: (PokeyJHorse) on April 22, 2015, 11:34 pm

King Leonardo And His Short Subjects - TV Shows
Agreed with Marcus! BTW Mr.Wizard the Lizard's voice was SANDY BECKER (wrongly identified earlier as FRANK MILANO) and is NOT to be confused with DON HERBERT's earlier TV Mr.Wizard's world, which in 1971 DID get a own revival. The very first Leonardo-TTV show. -- Submitted By: (PokeyJHorse) on April 22, 2015, 2:35 am

Diana Ross - Music Groups
Diana Ross may have boned, but never as much as, say, Whitney Houston..but anyway Gaye and Terrell's original 1966 version of "Ain't No Mountain High Enough", NUMBER ONE in 1970 by DIANA ROSS, is the one now playing on radio here (SoCal), rather than DIANA's, maybe her image. Bah. Huh! Diana Ross OWNS THE song with all due respect to EVERYONE! -- Submitted By: (PokeyJHorse) on April 22, 2015, 2:33 am

ACT (Action for Children's Television) - Random Topics
Oh yeah. In their fearless cunt-I mean, leader, Peggy Charren's PMS driven 1954 - I mean - 1062 - I mean again 1982 book "Changing Channells" objected to racist black stereotypes yet what about blacks callin' each other the word, and forgive me please, with all due respect to the race, nigger? -- Submitted By: (PokeyJHorse) on April 22, 2015, 2:24 am

Flintstones, The - TV Shows
REALLY needs to be getting away from Seth McFarlane's film, an entire post-original franchise thing and everything about the original and when it boned. The examples quoted from a Jump the Shark poster from the Scottish Site's classic days were some. I think of the show losing its edge as time went on (though final season opener "No Biz like Showbiz" with Pebbles and Bamm Bamm singing to me is a classic; you can have the Betwitched crossovers and most others.) Cheers to everyone, you too shanequia! -- Submitted By: (PokeyJHorse) on April 18, 2015, 3:04 pm

Ally McBeal - TV Shows
BTW I'm the one who voted Courtney Thonre-Smith leaving the show. She could give star Calista Flockhart (as ally to CTS's Georgia) a run for her money with her miniskirt (ESPECIALLY with CTS's blonde hair and very 70s Carol Brady look!) -- Submitted By: (PokeyJHorse) on April 16, 2015, 1:45 am
