Tootsie Rolls - Random Topics
Shanequia, wax is EXACTLY the texture of Tootsies.. Mr.Zimpy, your uncle isn't off base at all about what Tootsies looked like. I'm sure when that 1920s song Toot Toot Tootsie Goodbye was written, it was about Tootsie rolls! (To be honest though, the other-flavored varieties that the early 1970s brought were pretty good...) Robert, Neccos were pretty chalk like and at one brand of chewable vitamin (looking like a large white wafer) tasted similarly...Necco, btw, doesn;t have its own entry, but the name for them meant New England Confectionery Company. PrinceJ, your description of the flavor as artificial artificial chocolate also summed my youthful feelings about Tootsies. Didn't completely dislike them, but never really sank my teeth into them (and Pelirojo, good luck with the crown in the last four years that you it-I;'ve had a number of crowns and they work pretty well..) -- Submitted By: (PokeyJHorse) on October 26, 2014, 10:59 pm

When they dropped some defintions like drive selector (as in an automatic transmission's one.) or the opposite, a gearshift for a manual. The definitions once existed, now no more.Likewise the comments (remember THOSE?) for definitions, too. -- Submitted By: (PokeyJHorse) on October 7, 2014, 11:16 pm

Justin Bieber - Celebrities
So Eric Dickerson and Keyshawn Johnson also are outraged...I saw that. Good...I think young girls, given the choice would rather watch horse flicks than Justin Bieber's bombs..Justin Bomber---speaking of which, what did he have to say about 9/11/2001 attacks? :) Oh, by the WAY...I went to see NEITHER of his flicks! HA HA HA! -- Submitted By: (PokeyJHorse) on February 3, 2014, 9:34 am

Glad to see some sports stars attacking him (Keyshawn Johnson, particularly, having had a car collision with Justin). -- Submitted By: (PokeyJHorse) on February 1, 2014, 2:33 pm

Popeye and Son - TV Shows
Boned all of the fish that swam under Popeye's trusty old schooner faster than Bluto could catch them. The reason was the same as an earlier 1970s one also by Hanna-Barbera Productions-though Broadcast Standards and Practices are to REALLY blame--no violence, no tough-guy-talkin' sailor, no nothin'. -- Submitted By: (PokeyJHorse) on January 16, 2014, 9:17 am

Westboro Baptist Church - Random Topics
The Democrat judges support the soldier-funeral protest of the WBC as part of their political leaning as said, but re: Elizabeth Edwards, John's widow, She was a anti-war person (though not anti-America, I guess) so's it's a bit odd for the Westboro Baptist Church to protest her. -- Submitted By: (PokeyJHorse) on January 14, 2014, 5:29 pm

On the child thing, I believe this was Elizabeth Edwards who got shot, yeah, way to go Church, protest a NINE YEAR OLD CHILD....(as a user using the name of Gumby';s pal Pokey I'll point their creator Art Clokey was the OPPOSITE of THIS kind of "church". Adios. -- Submitted By: (PokeyJHorse) on January 14, 2014, 4:57 pm

Westboro Baptist Church - Random Topics
OH! DolFan---I just saw your comment about the Westboro Baptist Church main thing protesting military funery and the court supports it being Democrats, and it MATCHES EVERYTHING I, andf the others I've said, (PYL, Travolron) have said, and which I've noted on YouTube! DolFan, you rock regsarding the big contracvtion if these assholes call themselves ANYTHING Bible thumping, given the homophobic stance!!! -- Submitted By: (PokeyJHorse) on January 14, 2014, 4:55 pm

Westboro Baptist Church - Random Topics
I especially ask Robert and DolFan to remain with us! My take on it is: a) on the one hand the Westboro Baptist Church is "extreme fundamentalist, right wing" just like all other such "Think thanks" but THEN b) on the OTHER hand they PROTEST America with the "God Hates Fags" crap!!!!! Just like as PYLRulz and travoltron have said, for a few contributors, that Fred Phelps is a Demcorat. Sounds right to me with the anti-American sentiment (their being anti-gay aside). and, "like Saturday School, NO CLASS" is truly right (of course they have church school every day, I;'ll bet) -- Submitted By: (PokeyJHorse) on January 14, 2014, 4:51 pm

Dr. Seuss movies (live-action) - Movie Series
I feel your pain, Robert, regarding the Grinchmas thing.....I keep reading online off and on of Audrey Giesel [Mrs.Doctor Seuss :)] on whether or not she STILL wants to keep licensing these Dr.Suess movies, well, I guess, she must guess, if it makes money.... -- Submitted By: (PokeyJHorse) on December 21, 2013, 10:27 pm

Flintstones, The - TV Shows
Pelirojo, of course (I'm the "()") I admire Mr.Blanc efforts----pre-1970s,anyway when everything about cartoons went downhill, and not counting the disastrous things at WB at the time, like that inexplicable Daffy/Speedy G. team up. BTW regarding one of my comments, the singing babies episode which wound up a nightmare that we didn't Fred have at first (Season 6, Episode 1, "No Biz Like Show Biz"), was flawed,m definitely, but it's somewhat better than others make it out to be. I have to confess that I am also a closet Gazoo fan... The 'Stones had their various mixed results in those last several seasons (Season 5 had a number of clunkers though also had some experimental and interesting adventure episodes including gangsters stealing a very expensive car (this episode had the ring leader using one of his goons as target practice!), the famous (and SCARY!) encounter with the FUGLY Doctor Sinister (in that 1964-65 title episode, with Madame "I'm MUCH too IMPORTANT to be CAPTGURED" yes, one of the several J.Bond spoofs during the early films's era), "A Haunted House is not a Home" which followed it (the one with Uncle Giggles, to use "Friends's" dialect) and the one that I think is either Season 5 or 4 (it's from 1964) where Fred is not only clocked on the head making him talk like a kid (a rehash of a classic Season 1 episode, "The Split Personality") but the doctor hired is a Ben Casey like evil doctor (complete with "Dr.Zorba" like short size superior) who transers Fred and Dino...okay, you know that plot device (this being "Monster Fred"). -- Submitted By: (PokeyJHorse) on September 19, 2013, 1:57 am

American Pickers - TV Shows
What? no comment on Danielle Colby Cushman (or Lauren what's her name?)? No Gravy?:) I just started really getting in to the show. Of course, Danni may be for us guys the reason, but it never boned (outside of perverted male watcher thoughts..) Great show. -- Submitted By: (PokeyJHorse) on May 3, 2013, 10:50 pm

Justin Bieber - Celebrities
Enjoying the Soggy9000/DolFan face-off and mutual understanding of them. Soggo9000, regarding your first point, Cassidy and Sherman, besides DolFan's replies regarding them, had more richer, solid voices (though I agree they sounded a bit too mature, but hey, they were older than Jusitn is now, Sherman especially!), and sang, and weren't jerks. Regarding the thugs, New Kids' and Backstreet Boys's lead singers and Micheal Jackson's post-1980 heydey would be the seeds of this thug obsession. When I was 8, in 1968, there was a famous case of the Monkees opening for Jimi Hendrix and there was a big deal about that, where in the last 20 years we have boy-bands in the post-Osmond days growing up to be "minitature man with their homeys" bands.:) -- Submitted By: (PokeyJHorse) on March 28, 2013, 11:12 pm
