Random Topics - MSN

Microsoft used the MSN brand name to launch and promote numerous popular web-based services in the late 1990s, most notably Hotmail and Messenger, before reorganizing many of them in 2006 under a new brand name, Windows Live. MSN's Internet portal, MSN.com, still offers a wealth of content and is currently the 6th most visited domain name on the Internet.[2]

1 They took away MSN Chat and MSN Groups. Two notable communities of what gave people a reason to even bother with MSN. All for the expense of their stupid Windows Live takeover while they were trying to turn their messengers into all-in-one centers. They did the dumb move of taking away MSN Chats after they thought they could try making it a subscription service. When it began and was initially for free. It was $20 yearly. That didn't particularly fly very well and they closed their doors for that very reason. Idiots. I think they were also going to do the same for MSN Groups but they closed that down just for, again, Windows Live. I haven't bothered with them since those times. -- Submitted By: (Infyrin) on October 5, 2013, 7:14 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
