The General Electric Company, or GE (NYSE: GE), is a multinational American technology and services conglomerate incorporated in the State of New York. In terms of market capitalization as of September 30, 2008, GE is the world's tenth largest company. In the 1960s, aspects of U.S. tax laws and accounting practices led to a rise in the assembly of conglomerates. GE, which was a conglomerate long before the term was coined, is arguably the most successful organization of this type.

I like GE because they do pretty much everything! I like their light bulbs and microwave ovens the best! The dishwashers are pretty good, mostly for their iconic motor noise (pretty much hasn't changed since the 70s/80s!), but I didn't like their detergent container SNAP until the mid-to-late 90s models. But I totally despise their garbage disposals; they sound a lot like a Blendtec blender or something. And it doesn't stop there! Hospitals, factories, the railroad, etc. I have seen GE products there as well, and they haven't skipped a beat! GE is truly a grand old American company!
