Music Groups - Marilyn Manson

Marilyn Manson is an American rock band founded in the city of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Advocates of nonconformity and iconoclasm, often utilizing controversial imagery and lyrical content, it is difficult to categorize the band, however, as each album thus far has had a distinct and individual sound, and the band and frontman endeavor to devise and use a unique image and aesthetic for each album's era. The band was formed in 1989 as "Marilyn Manson & the Spooky Kids". The band's uniquely theatrical performances gathered a local cult following that subsequently developed into a worldwide fanbase. The band's lineup almost always changes between album releases. The current members of the band are the eponymous lead singer Marilyn Manson, bassist Jeordie White, drummer Ginger Fish and keyboardist Chris Vrenna.

I think his music dropped when he reached the "Eat Me, Drink Me" album. First thought that came to my mind on the first track was "Since when did he start caring about writing anything about Vampires?" Then he was tossed into the Emo music category from then on after that album came and went. Since then, it's an image hard to shake off. He just became irrelevant afterwards. -- Submitted By: () on September 29, 2013, 4:14 am - (1 votes) - Login to Vote
Ok as an artist, probably helped his popularity (or at least notability) and place in the spotlight with all the false stuff people said about him that he would or could do. -- Submitted By: (PYLrulz) on April 28, 2013, 1:12 am - (1 votes) - Login to Vote
The New Album "Born Villain" is amazing, and the prior effort "High End of Low" was also a stellar album, great stuff actually, he just isnt "trendy" like he was in 97-2002. Try checking them out. -- Submitted By: (Chubby Rain) on October 18, 2012, 4:15 am - (1 votes) - Login to Vote
Shock rock that isn't so shocking anymore. And no, the lead singer wasn't Paul on The Wonder Years. -- Submitted By: (kingbk) on October 17, 2012, 5:13 pm - (3 votes) - Login to Vote
Holywood was Manson's last great album, and it's been downhill ever since. -- Submitted By: (beancrock) on October 17, 2012, 7:56 am - (1 votes) - Login to Vote

The worst thing I can say about an artist is that he or she is unoriginal. Marilyn Manson is deeply unoriginal. He is not and never has been cutting-edge; he has never truly pushed the envelope. Yet he poses as some sort of artistic pioneer. -- Submitted By: (Soggy9000) on May 14, 2011, 9:40 am - (4 votes) - Login to Vote

Wow, yeah, like the metal scene really needs more sick freaks with leather fetishes and Satan crushes. If we could only get the Westboro Baptists to protest them it'd be an endless sea of fail all in one place. -- Submitted By: (Replicant10k) on September 26, 2009, 8:16 am - (4 votes) - Login to Vote
Antichrist Superstar, Mechanical Animals and Holywood were great albums, but after that they boned -- Submitted By: (Vincent441) on June 3, 2009, 5:58 am - (-1 votes) - Login to Vote
