And apparently, they are making a 5th. Granted, I like the entire series in general (though the first one was best), but there comes a time where one has to say enough! -- Submitted By: (PYLrulz) on January 21, 2013, 12:41 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
Part II. This should have been just one movie. The first one was the perfect length, perfect comedy, perfect drama, perfect romance, perfect adventures. It just worked on all levels. The second was too long, boring and confusing. The third tried way too hard to do things and force things. The fourth one seemed more like a buddy film than a pirate movie. -- Submitted By: (kingbk) on August 31, 2012, 7:45 pm - (1 votes) - Login to Vote
One was good, two was also good, (loved the three-way sword fight on the beach as the girl character lamented 'these are grown men doing this!') three was also good but devolved into a wild mishmash of an series ever-changing loyalties and alliances, plus the last thirty or so minutes was a wild bunch of scenes slammed togther. It was like half of another movie jammed into that one. The last one was also good, if forgettable, loved the scene where he was with the woman and they were talking about relationships and Jack says, "So you lied about telling the truth?" How true that can be-I almost fell out of my chair laughing! -- Submitted By: () on August 31, 2012, 8:58 am - (1 votes) - Login to Vote
At first, I thought, "First Country Bears, then Haunted Mansion, now this? Another movie based on a Disney Ride?" But, when I saw the commercials, I thought it might actually be good. So I watched. It was proof Disney could do a "serious" movie for older audiences. And it was violent, surprisingly for a Disney movie. The sequel was more violent, but it was also good: Davy Jones was evil, and the effects for his tentacled beard were amazing. As one movie critic in my paper put it, "It's hard to tell where the actor ends and the CGI begins". Never really watched the third movie (I got tired of it by then), and the fourth movie was too much. Can't wait for number five to be released. -- Submitted By: (Robert) on November 23, 2011, 2:34 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
Way too many sequels! The fact that a lot of the original cast had jumped ship by the fourth film should tell you something. -- Submitted By: (Jp) on November 22, 2011, 5:47 pm - (1 votes) - Login to Vote
Loved 1. 2 was terrible. Refuse to see 3. -- Submitted By: (Googalslosh) on April 4, 2011, 7:12 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
Could not tolerate watching Johnny Depp's mincing, eye-linered "performance" from first glance. WTF? -- Submitted By: (lojo) on January 23, 2011, 9:08 am - (1 votes) - Login to Vote
I would have loved the whole Elizabeth/Jack romance over the wimpy Will. -- Submitted By: (itscreams) on October 10, 2009, 11:01 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
The first movie was great, but when they changed half of the characters around for the second part (especially Norrigton) it was the beginning of the end. -- Submitted By: (Swanpride) on September 5, 2009, 3:26 am - (1 votes) - Login to Vote
I really don't care for this series. I only watched part one just so that I can say "been there, done that!" but that was all I could handle. I did like the two DVD bonus features, though: a clip from "Walt Disney Presents" and the blooper reel ("Is that a plane?") -- Submitted By: (SVN) on April 17, 2009, 8:58 pm - (1 votes) - Login to Vote
The first movies is great. part 2 is decent, part 3 they tried too hard. -- Submitted By: (MCS) on April 8, 2009, 12:28 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
The first movie is quite enjoyable, but part 2 drags on waaaaaayyy too long. I haven't even watched part 3. -- Submitted By: (rick283) on March 13, 2009, 11:30 am - (1 votes) - Login to Vote
