TV Shows - Mr. Robot

Insecure internet systems routinely used by mega-corporations is at the heart of this fast moving drama. Elliot (Rami Malek) is a drug using, paranoid, anti-social vigilante hacker whose day job as a cyber security tech gives him access to world-class computer systems. His skills draw the attention of Mr. Robot (Christian Slater) perhaps the best hacker that ever lived. He draws Elliot into his plot to destroy the global financial network, thus erasing everyone's debt and forcing a world-wide re-distribution of wealth. Elliot is mentally very unstable and Mr. Robot may be a figment of his imagination.

1 Ok, ok, this is one of those shows where you never know if the action is inside the main character's head or actually happening. Too much to figure out, plus Elliot is a creep, I have zero sympathy for the guy and kinda hope he gets whacked, which isn't likely considering he's the star of the show. Mr. Robot played by Christian Slater is demented and delusional. Does he think seriously the world economy will collapse due to a banking hack? Does he think all the rich people will gleefully give up their hordes of cash, precious metals and jewels and redistribute everything equally? Marxism is cute but it doesn't work. Humans are and always will be greedy bastards! -- Submitted By: (spacer) on July 15, 2015, 4:22 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
2 Good show! I admit I was skeptical but the trailers drew me in and Rami Malek and Christian Slater can do weird seriously well. You want to root for the main character, Elliot (Malek) but we slowly find out he's really messed up mentally, snorts morphine for kicks, and stalks women he is attracted to, threatening any other males who come close. By comparison, Mr. Robot (Slater) seems harmless. All he wants to do is destroy the world financial system, Elliot wants to destroy people, the ones he doesn't like, which includes almost everyone. Creepy show but very well written and acted. Give it a shot, it's on basic cable so you don't hafta be a premium cable millionaire, lol. -- Submitted By: (martymarty) on June 30, 2015, 2:36 pm - (1 votes) - Login to Vote
