Born on November 8, 1967, in San Franscisco, California, Courtney Thorne0Smith (full name) is an extremely popular American television actress who started out in the 1970s in odds and ends of movies, TV ads, and series (including the mid-1980s adapation of "Fast Times at Ridgemont High" (1982) where she plays Stacey Hamilton, formerly played by Jennifer Jason Leigh(!!)), and the alter original series "Day by Day", among others, and the later 80s movies "Lucas", "Revenge of the Nerds 2", "Welcome to 17" and others that found an even bigger afterlife on videoa nd in numerous television reruns than in theatrical showings.
By 1992 her big break came, as she concentrated on television prime time for "Melrose Place" starting in 1992 on Fox, at 24 as Allison Parker, then left the show still then in progress in 1996-97 for "Ally McBeal", in a higher role, also on Fox, as Georgia Thomas", then left that show when it was still on but "Melrose" no longer was, then Courtney Thorne-Smith's one show where she'd have an full lasting tenure, "According to Jim", on ABC, as Cheryl in her highest billing, right next to Jim Belushi, a Donna Reed or Florence Henderson to Jim's Jackie Gleason or John Goodman type, for "According to Jim's" entire run!
Today she's on "Two and a Half Men", airing on NBC.
