Movie Series - Monsters, Inc.

Monsters, Inc. was is a 2001 CGI film released by Pixar. Monsteropolis, a city of monsters, which uses the screams of children as an energy source, is facing an energy crisis. A large hairy blue monster named James P. Sullivan (voiced by John Goodman) and his round green friend Mike Wazowski work at Monsters, Inc., where workers enter through doorways into kid's bedrooms to frighten children, thus attaining the screams needed to supply energy. A prequel, Monsters U., is set for release in 2013, and follows when Mike and Sully first meet in college.

1 That's good news, Randall's not a nerd for long. It's just, I don't buy that. Nothing about him says, "I used to be a nerd once": he's evil, Machiavellian, and murderous (he tried to kill Sully near the end). Mike or Sully, on the other hand...wouldn't it have been funny that big tough Sully was once a quiet, shy nerd? I'll watch M.U. when it hits video, and when I do, I can give an accurate opinion. -- Submitted By: (Robert) on July 18, 2013, 12:47 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
2 I've seen Monster's University, and I do want to mention that the part about Randall being a nerd/nice guy is actually disposed of early on. -- Submitted By: (cartooner) on July 6, 2013, 9:26 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
3 There is no reason for Monsters, Inc. to have a sequel, much less a prequel. Why would you need a college education to enter kids' bedrooms and make them scream in fright? Is this a Monsters Inc version of Animal House? Just when I was thinking this movie had a tiny glimmer of hope instead of being yet another sequel or prequel...I see Randall as a nerd. Way to stamp out that glimmer, Disney. I haven't seen it yet, so I'll hold back on saying whether it boned or not until I do. -- Submitted By: (Robert) on July 6, 2013, 4:11 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
