TV Shows - Eastbound & Down
Eastbound & Down is a comedy than originally ran on HBO from 2009-2011 for three seasons (as of September 2012, a fourth season has been ordered). It follows a retired professional baseball player named Kenny Powers (played by Danny McBride) has he tries to regain his fame via a comeback while simultaneously being a middle school teacher.

This is one show that I never got the appeal of to begin with and I still don't. I found it impossible to like the main character or find him funny, a guy who is a vile, rude and obnoxious fellow - a one-dimensional character that got old quick. All of his actions just seemed to come along okay with the other characters and that bothered me. It is not necessarily complex humour either and the timing is lacking a lot of the time - this comedy comes across as "edgy", twelve-year old appeal.
