1 I just remembered one strip (and a collection named after it) with Jason and Marcus as "Encyclopedias Brown and White." I'm amazed Bill Amend never got any flack over that, even though I don't find it offensive at all. -- Submitted By: () on June 21, 2012, 12:03 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
2 I, too, liked FoxTrot back in its heyday - then the old gags were being recycled and reused to the point it got predictable. -- Submitted By: (BigAl) on June 17, 2012, 10:12 am - (1 votes) - Login to Vote
3 I enjoyed this strip up until the early 2000s. When all the characters had an equal role, this strip was at its strongest. However, around the early 2000s, the focus went mostly to Jason, with the rest of the Fox family only playing a side role, and the stories got really geek focused with talk of movies, video games, and computer stuff that appeals to geeks but probably no one else. Also, the jokes began to get recycled. You just saw the quality take a decline, which is why I'm not surprised at all that Bill Amend semi-retired and made it a Sunday only strip. -- Submitted By: (kingbk) on June 16, 2012, 6:33 pm - (3 votes) - Login to Vote
4 One of my favorite comic strips back in its heyday. I bought the Camp Foxtrot collection just on a whim one day, and had been reduced to fits of tears from laughter at least 3 different times by the time I was done reading it. For a longtime, it was one of the best and most underrated comics in the funny pages. Then several years ago, Bill Amend got on a big World of Warcraft kick and incorporated it into the strip. Before long, almost all of the strips either related around WoW or required advanced knowledge of Physics in order for it to be funny. It wasn't as relate-able or spontaneous as it had been before. It's since gone to the Sunday-only format but it's still a shell of its former self. Still, I at least have the older strip collections to keep me entertained. Long live Iguanoman! -- Submitted By: (BBulaga75) on June 13, 2012, 9:35 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
