Movie Series - Kung Fu Panda

Kung Fu Panda is a 2008 cgi movie released by Dreamworks. Po (Jack Black) is a panda who lives with his goose father, Mr. Ping (James Hong), in a noodle shop. Po loves kung fu, and is a big fan of the Furious Five, a team comprised of Master Monkey (Jackie Chan), Master Tigress (Angelina Jolie), Master Mantis (Seth Rogen), Master Viper (Lucy Liu), and Master Crane (David Cross). Master Oogway (Randall Duk Kim), the elderly master of the Jade Palace, tells his student, Master Shifu (Dustin Hoffman), that Tai Lung (Ian McShane) will escape from prison and seek revenge. A tournament takes place to determine which of the Furious Five will become the "Dragon Warrior". Po, desperate to see the action, ties fireworks to himself and flies into the Jade Palace, where Oogway chooses him. The sequel was released in 2011. This time, an evil peacock named Lord Shen (Gary Oldman) is bent on destroying kung fu and taking over China. Thirty years ago, he was a prince who mastered the destructive use of fireworks. A soothsayer tells him he will one day be defeated by "a warrior of black and white". Taking this to mean a panda, he destroys a city of pandas to prevent the prophecy from being fulfilled. His parents, horrified by their son's actions, banish him. Meanwhile, Po and the Furious Five set out to stop Shen. During a fight with Shen's wolf forces, Po has a flashback when he sees a symbol on the wolf's armor. He later asks his father where he came from and Mr. Ping explains that he was adopted. In addition to stopping Shen, Po wants to find out where he came from.

Kung Fu Panda Comments (You must Login to Comment)

1 The first Kung Fu Panda was funny. It really was. The second had more of a dark undertone. For this reason, I didn't enjoy it as much. Plus, it suffered from sequel syndrome. Just not as good as the first. -- Submitted By: (Jp) on July 2, 2013, 8:27 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
2 As of 2012, with the first two films in the series, I can say that the Kung Fu Panda series hasn't boned yet. -- Submitted By: (cartooner) on July 26, 2012, 11:11 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
