Muppet Movies, The Comments (You must Login to Comment)

1 When the celebrity guest stars got to be too much. Granted, they had them in the earlier classics as well as the Muppet Show, but lately, they've gotten to be the main draw of the movies, instead of the muppets themselves. Am I really supposed to believe that Kermit and the gang rub elbows with the likes of Whoopi Goldberg, David Arquette, and Kathy Griffin? Which brings me to my next point. Ever since Jim Henson died, Kermit the Frog's ego has gotten completely out of control. It started off with his face being the Muppet logo, to pointless appearances in Muppet projects (i.e. the "narrator" of Emmett Otter's Jugband Christmas, and he doesn't appear for the rest of the film!), now he's gone total Hollywood on us. He's partying with celebrities, appearing on game shows, and barely has time for his friends anymore. Why can't he bring Fozzie or Gonzo with him? Or if he does, they're the 3rd wheel. He is no longer the humble, hardworking frog that we used to know. One might argue that he's gone Howard Stern on us. Kermit will be appearing on Celebrity Rehab before long because his behavior and lifestyle choices are completely out of control.
