TV Shows - Looney Tunes Show, The

The Looney Tunes show is a cartoon based on the classic Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies cartoons created by Warner Bros. In this show, Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck are roommates whose neighbors are the other classic characters. Most have changed from their classic forms: for example, the Tasmanian Devil is now Bugs' pet, Gossamer (the large, orange, hairy monster) is now a middle school kid, Witch Hazel has been renamed Witch Lezah (Hazel backwards), and Marvin the Martian is a nerdy foreign exchange student from Mars.

Looney Tunes Show, The Comments (You must Login to Comment)

1 I'm kinda hot and cold about this one. The sitcom format is very restrictive, and some of the retooling, such as making Gossamer a suburban child and Lola Bunny a Valley girl, was annoying. I loved the new version of Taz as sometimes demonic/sometimes adorable pet. And occasionally, there would be an episode that worked. Unfortunately, in the same episode, there would be a hideous dud. Just try to watch any random one of the music video segments. It just can't be done! -- Submitted By: (Hateaol) on December 22, 2013, 9:20 am - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
2 In their slight defense, the creators stated that, like Loonatics Unleashed, they're not trying to be like the original Looney Tunes, and trying to be something different. I don't really understand why they called it "The Looney Tunes Show," though. -- Submitted By: (cartooner) on October 4, 2011, 7:12 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
3 In the mid-2000s, a cartoon named Loonatics Unleashed was in the works. Many people, myself included, were not happy with their retooling of the classics. "Leave the classics alone!" we shouted. They tried to assuage our fears by saying these new characters were descendants, rather than remakes of Bugs and his friends. To an extent, it worked, but still, it was hard to shake the cloud of knowing one day our beloved characters would have these guys in their family tree. Then came the Looney Tunes Show. Everything we worried that Loonatics would do to our classic characters? It happened here instead. It's like WB was giving a big F-you to everyone who stood up for the classics. -- Submitted By: (Robert) on September 15, 2011, 8:14 pm - (1 votes) - Login to Vote
