Dr. Phil is a MONSTROUS douche rivalled only by Dog the Bounty Hunter or his patron, Oprah! His stuff is basically tough love, straight talk, but he gets emotionally abusive! Again, a monstrous douche! But, then again, how could anybody derived from Oprah not be? -- Submitted By: (Arkady) on April 11, 2013, 4:32 pm - (0 votes)

LauDor08,
Well, it sure takes ALL kinds. You're the first person here who's actually LIKED Dr. Phil- and I say this as someone who started out liking him but has long since gotten burned out by him and am grateful I usually have to work when his show's on. -- Submitted By: (Pelirojo) on November 19, 2009, 9:30 am - (0 votes)

He has some good topics and some interesting stories, plus he's funny. Dr. Phil seems like a pretty cool guy. -- Submitted By: (LauDor08) on November 19, 2009, 3:30 am - (0 votes)

I had the misfortune of being subjected to this show while I was undergoing physiotherapy, as they had it on the TVs while I was getting worked over. I can assure you I'd never voluntarily watch this.
What amazes me most about this program is that people are willing to appear on it. I can only assume that the concept of privacy in ones personal life is obsolete, as it would appear that people are perfectly willing to destroy their reputations and that of their entire family if it means that they'll get on TV. I was stunned, not so much that some of these people existed, but that they were willing to discuss these issues on national television, and presumably using their real names. I'm sure that must make for some awkward conversations with the neighbors over the fence!
Someone described this show to me as "Jerry Springer for the middle class", and I think it's a perfect summary. -- Submitted By: (Eugene) on July 23, 2009, 12:00 pm - (1 votes)

Sometimes I feel sorry for the people on the show, it's obvious that their personal and emotional problems are being exploited by a hack that calls himself a doctor, then I remember that they're there on their own free will and the pity dissipates, that said Dr. Phil is still jackass for doing it, unless he pays them... -- Submitted By: (gpshaw) on April 7, 2009, 11:28 pm - (1 votes)
