1 The incredible irony is that while he played one of the most despicable, Machiavellian iconic characters ever, offscreen he'd spent the last few years caring for his Alzheimer's afflicted wife and, as recently as a week before his own passing, was focusing on how to make HER twilight as pleasant as possible despite her being unable to remember their past- despite his own mortal condition. Oh, and it's also quite a testament to his character that in addition to his family, the performers who played Bobby and Sue Ellen Ewing who his character had been rather nasty to, were at his bedside when he died in. ..yes, Dallas, Texas. RIP, Major Nelson [the iconic character I personally preferred him portraying]. -- Submitted By: (Pelirojo) on November 24, 2012, 3:00 pm - (2 votes) - Login to Vote
