If you think Jeff Foxworthy is a compentent game show host, you might be a red- no, let me rephrase that: if you think Jeff Foxworthy is a competent game show host, you might be a toothless, inbred, backwoods cretin cracker. If you actually believe some of these questions were ever part of ANY grade school lesson plan, you will NEVER be smarter than ANY fifth grader. -- Submitted By: (GregEichelberger) on June 18, 2011, 3:33 am - (4 votes) - Login to Vote
when i was in elementary school, I was in the "advanced" program, which was a much harder curriculum than most students got. I SUPPOSE thats what these kids are taught in too, but a general 5th grader doesnt learn anything like that. -- Submitted By: (VeritechRyan) on October 19, 2010, 11:01 pm - (1 votes) - Login to Vote
The show should b called "Are you more knowledgable than a 5th grader" as it does not test intelligence, it tests knowledge. -- Submitted By: (PrinceJ) on August 1, 2010, 6:35 pm - (2 votes) - Login to Vote
Same here, as I look back, I'm glad that I didn't have a TV in my bedroom. I spent many nights reading and it has been a blessing for me, I am more literate than I would have been relying totally on the Detroit public school system. -- Submitted By: (fletch000) on February 11, 2010, 8:14 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
That's true. Hence, one of the reasons it's important for kids to read, so they can teach themselves stuff that school isn't. There were subjects my school didn't really cover, so I had to learn it on my own. I'm glad I did. -- Submitted By: (Robert) on February 11, 2010, 9:39 am - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
Robert, That depends on the School or School district that you are in, not to mention Private schools. The Education system in the U.S. is not Equal. The more money you or your parents have the better education it affords you in most cases. In other words there are some elite and advanced schools in America, the questions that they use on this show come from samplings of their curriculum. -- Submitted By: (fletch000) on February 10, 2010, 11:48 am - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
As a Howard Stern fan, it was instant bone when they ripped this off from him (and the people behind the show didn't even acknowledge it) -- Submitted By: (PYLrulz) on December 4, 2009, 1:16 pm - (1 votes) - Login to Vote
The show is called "are you smarter than a 5th grader", yet a lot of the tougher questions are taught in either middle or high school. How ironic. But still fun to watch! -- Submitted By: (Robert) on April 28, 2009, 1:09 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
