His fanciful stories about growing up with baseball hall of famer Sandy Koufax. He put these in several of his books, even after it became public knowledge that he invented this childhood friendship. -- Submitted By: (John63btf) on March 25, 2015, 5:22 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
Larry had some good interviews but they were "few and far between" to keep me as a viewer. I think that what did it for me was the "continuous interviews with Darva". The only interview that I watched after that was the one with Doc and Ed after Johnny Carson's death. I thought that there would be some good stories during that interview. And there would have been if Larry just kept his mouth shut and let the guests finish their stories. But no; he had to cut them off with another question. That was the final straw for me. -- Submitted By: (Pete) on August 18, 2013, 10:50 am - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
I've been told that the guy did know what he was doing once upon a time and he's been coasting on that reputation for decades ever since. He kept working way past his expiration date because he had all those wives and kids to support. -- Submitted By: (Travoltron) on July 18, 2012, 9:19 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
I wonder if he ever did any research on the guests before he interviewed them. I rarely watched this guy but whenever I did, he would ask some very idiotic questions. -- Submitted By: (JayD) on July 16, 2012, 11:32 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
Haha, that goes for me too! And to think, people act (or at least used to act) like being interviewed by him was some huge honor. Oh well, he at least went through the pretense of marriage instead of being yet another one of those people who just sleep around. -- Submitted By: (DolFan316) on July 16, 2012, 9:19 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
I never understood why this show, and this man, were so popular. Larry always appeared to be sleep walking through interviews with his softball questions and the chain smoking was noticeable in his gravely voice. Add to that the fact this man was the male equivalent of Liz Taylor when it came to failed marriages and I just never saw the greatness of this program. -- Submitted By: (kingbk) on July 16, 2012, 6:27 pm - (3 votes) - Login to Vote
Here is where he boned for me, and you all can decide for yourselves whether this is important to you. He had Sharon Tate's (Manson family victim) sister ("Debra" I believe) on for an interview regarding whether Roman Polanski should be allowed back into the US after his statutory rape conviction in absentia decades ago. She mentions to Larry that she speaks to Roman (her former brother in law - the widower of Sharon Tate) on the phone quite often. Larry's "follow up question" to this, is to ask her how she can maintain a relationship with the man who "so brutally murdered her sister". With a horrified look on her face, she proceeded to explain to Larry that it was the Manson family, and not Roman Polanski, who murdered her sister, Sharon Tate. Some things are simply too well known in popular culture to screw up, much less someone like Larry King. Major league boning, and a major league sign he'd been doing this for too long. I'm sure many of the brain dead now believe Roman Polanski is a murderer. Great job Larry! -- Submitted By: (ParkerTillman) on July 16, 2012, 4:53 pm - (1 votes) - Login to Vote
Fortunately we never got this show in Australia but when we saw clips, or when he appeared on 'tonight' shows - he was SO creepy! Looked like a lizard in braces. -- Submitted By: () on October 20, 2011, 9:12 am - (0 votes) - Login to Vote

It would take too much space to even start listing all the goofs and inanities he put forth on his show over the years and I long since quit bothering with this. However; I'll just say that it's telling re his tastes to find out on his last show he had Tony Bennett on. Tony Bennett stood out because he was the ONLY guest on that particular whom I find even vaguely likable. Don't get me started on the other guests! -- Submitted By: (Pelirojo) on December 18, 2010, 2:52 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
Yes, the only one in the world to introduce the band REM as rem. Instead of spelling the letters, he actually pronounced the word. -- Submitted By: (JustLooking) on September 25, 2010, 8:41 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
