Music Groups - Sex Pistols

The Sex Pistols are an English punk rock band that formed in London in 1975. They are responsible for initiating the punk movement in the United Kingdom and inspiring many later punk and alternative rock musicians. Although their initial career lasted just two-and-a-half years and produced only four singles and one studio album, Never Mind the Bollocks, Here's the Sex Pistols, they are regarded as one of the most influential acts in the history of popular music

1 Go to your local zoo, find the gorilla pit, and hand out instruments. No doubt the gorillas will make better sounding music than these clowns! -- Submitted By: (jimdcarter) on December 23, 2012, 5:16 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
2 Their ONE album was good, but what made them bone for me (hyped in the press) was finding out that Syd Vicious was little more than a drug-addled prop. Even on "Never Mind The Bollocks" his predecessor, Glenn Matlock, played most of the bass tracks. Not sure to what extent, if at all, Syd managed to slip into the mix. Meanwhile, he's credited on the album as a full member of the band with no mention of Matlock at all. From a fan's point of view, that's fraud! As for the reunion, why NOT get Glenn Matlock? That's more of a true reunion that having Syd up there would be (obviously Syd can't perform, but even if he could). He actually played on their album and was available, so why get a stand in? You got the original Pistols live, and you're complaining? -- Submitted By: (ParkerTillman) on July 24, 2012, 4:54 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
3 Hugely important. HUGELY. A large percentage of the contents of both my iPods, and my CD collection, and what little post-1980 vinyl I own, would not exist if it weren't for these guys. And John Lydon has earned the right to be the Most Abrasively Uncompromising Man on Planet Earth. -- Submitted By: (Soggy9000) on May 6, 2011, 5:34 am - (-3 votes) - Login to Vote
4 Their "last" show was perfect. Pissing the audience out of a real concert that they paid for. Doing a crappy version of "no fun" with John Rotten announcing, "you'll get one number and one number only." Followed by, "you ever get the feeling you've been cheated?" That's pure Sex Pistols attitude, they should have never reunited after that "last" concert... especially as old, fat men. Even though I feel Sid sucked and was no more than a bass stand, when he died, they should have never pulled Glen back in the fold and continued on at a later date. The post-pistols bands were great: PiL, The Professionals, and The Rich Kids. -- Submitted By: (bandeapart) on August 18, 2010, 3:45 pm - (-3 votes) - Login to Vote
5 Real Rock and roll, and in the era of such pre packaged tripe as American Idol I love these guys more and more- GOD SAVE THE QUEEN!! Just watching the FILTH AND THE FURY Documentary, I had no idea how controversial these guys really were. And even better- they attacked the mindless Rock and Roll Hall of Fame- http://www.rollingstone.com/news/story/9385165/sex_pistols_flip_off_hall_of_fame -- Submitted By: (Chubby Rain) on February 27, 2010, 1:54 pm - (-1 votes) - Login to Vote
