Oprah Winfrey Show, The Comments (You must Login to Comment)

If I do have to give Oprah one bit of respect for anything, it's for not going along with the trash talk show explosion in the mid-late 90's like Springer, Maury, and such went along with. -- Submitted By: (PYLrulz) on December 11, 2014, 2:20 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
I picture her last show with her being carried out of the studio on a litter hoisted on the shoulders of four eunuchs, lead by BFF Gail dancing and playing a harp, while the audience of middle-aged white women toss rose petals in her path. What do you think? -- Submitted By: (rixter) on May 17, 2011, 12:45 pm - (6 votes) - Login to Vote
I stopped watching when the premise of her show went from discussing current issues to shoving self-improvement down our throats. She would have some "expert" on to tell us how to live/spend/eat/pray/love, and she would look into the audience and add her two cents. All the while these glassy-eyed Stepford wives would nod in agreement as if it were gospel. Sickening. That and the overbearing adulation of celebrities was finally too much for me. And don't give me that,"Well she's given away so much money to those in need" mantra. It's all self gratification. I glad her show is going off the air. I hope my local station puts on something better. Oprah, please go away! -- Submitted By: (rixter) on April 19, 2011, 2:23 pm - (5 votes) - Login to Vote
A one time weather reporter who, for whatever arcane reason, was given a talk show and becomes one of the world's richest women while dispensing her pusillanimous persiflage on any topic that strikes her fancy. Said drivel being avidly consumed by thousands of stepford wife devotees who dwell on her every word as if it were the new scripture. And she strokes her ego by yearly announcements that she will retire at the end of the season, just so everyone will fawn all over her again. -- Submitted By: (jgf) on October 9, 2010, 12:11 am - (7 votes) - Login to Vote
I don't understand people's fascination with this show. America is in deep trouble. -- Submitted By: (JustLooking) on October 8, 2010, 9:02 pm - (6 votes) - Login to Vote
Good theory Dean of NY about the $cientology/Oprah connection. -- Submitted By: (Chubby Rain) on September 4, 2010, 8:19 am - (2 votes) - Login to Vote
All I really want to know is what the Scientology connection is with Oprah. She has repeatedly called John Travolta "her best friend," and always has him on to plug his latest film. She has had Tom Cruise on with that couch jumping display, and then a follow up two part episode to "explain" that. And Kirstie Alley came on to show off her weight loss. All three of them are noted Scientologists. So, is there a connection to Oprah with this? It seems fishy, if you catch my drift. -- Submitted By: (TheDeanofNYC) on September 4, 2010, 1:40 am - (3 votes) - Login to Vote

Oprah Winfrey is amazing! She's a true inspiration and she had humble beginnings so she always gives back. She's the most charitable out of most celebs. (Hello, my favorite things? And that school in Africa?)Alotta the topics on her show are interesting and hard hitting, some more than others, but yeah. Plus, whoever goes on her show, gets their on show! She's just that powerful. If you don't like Oprah, you're just a hater. And whether she's fat or skinny, she's still pretty. -- Submitted By: (LauDor08) on November 18, 2009, 2:53 am - (-7 votes) - Login to Vote
I have to agree she promote all kind of bad books like the Secret which is for greedy people. that book just evil. -- Submitted By: (shanequia) on August 4, 2009, 1:51 pm - (3 votes) - Login to Vote
I love the fact that there's not a single vote for "never boned". That says it all. -- Submitted By: (DolFan316) on July 12, 2009, 8:31 pm - (1 votes) - Login to Vote
Enough with the celebrity worship already! Geez. Discussion of societal issues can be valuable, but please spare us the bling factor of Celeb du Jour. They bore me to tears. WHO CARES about their latest movie, CD, haircut or whatever. And I can find my own books to read too. -- Submitted By: (Lori9) on June 18, 2009, 8:35 am - (5 votes) - Login to Vote
If I wrote a book, I'd want it on her show. Those retards will buy ANYTHING she talks about. -- Submitted By: (rick283) on May 14, 2009, 9:38 pm - (6 votes) - Login to Vote
If you have the misfortune of catching this show, it seems more like a born again christian tent revival, or some kind of cult rally. The preachy obnoxious tone from Oprah, and then the fawning audience of idiotic yentas staring and cheering on cue. Slice up some Salmon, it's time to Bone the Fish when this is on! -- Submitted By: (Chubby Rain) on April 22, 2009, 4:54 am - (4 votes) - Login to Vote
