Greatest group ever. Never jumped. -- Submitted By: (JMoose) on November 30, 2012, 6:30 am - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
How can anyone say "Revolver" wasn't good after hearing "Tomorrow Never Knows"? That song was alternative rock before there was alternative rock. IMO though, Rubber Soul was their best album as it appealed to both original Beatle fans who preferred their backbeat roots, and their "hippie" fans as that was when their sound, not to mention their album art, began to evolve more in that direction. -- Submitted By: (ParkerTillman) on July 19, 2012, 4:07 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
The Beatles were and still are the standard that all rock N roll is held too. They were foremost terrific songwriters as well as singers and musicians. Every band or performer since then wishes they had the talent that John Lennon had. -- Submitted By: (Slash56) on June 3, 2012, 7:51 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
I think the Beatles peaked as a group with Sgt Pepper, that was their last truly "group" effort. There were a lot of things that happened to them in the last half of 1967 that one could vote for (Magical Mystery Tour, Epstein's death, the Maharishi, forming Apple Co.). They did some great stuff after, so I'm not sure if they really boned or not, but after mid 67 they were never really a group again. -- Submitted By: (John63btf) on January 16, 2012, 10:21 am - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
I agree with John63btf about the Beatles only getting better. They started out as the early 60s version of a boy band and it was only when they did Revolver and afterwards that they got away from being strictly teen idols and became REAL musicians. Then again the Beatles weren't together long enough to BTF anyway, it was only about 6 years from the time America became aware of them to their breakup. They packed more into those 6 years than most bands do in 26. -- Submitted By: (DolFan316) on January 16, 2012, 1:39 am - (2 votes) - Login to Vote
You mean there will be no "Blink 182 Anthology"??? Life just isn't fair! -- Submitted By: (John63btf) on January 13, 2012, 9:52 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
JayD, I didn't know anyone still listened to Blink182 NOW. LOL -- Submitted By: (DolFan316) on January 12, 2012, 6:07 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
Wow, just wow at the previous claim that "Revolver onwards was not very good". Revolver is considered by many to be the best one they ever did, not to mention it was followed by Sgt Pepper, the White Album, and Abbey Road, plus all the singles that came out during their later time period. Everyone's got their own taste... -- Submitted By: (John63btf) on January 12, 2012, 8:06 am - (1 votes) - Login to Vote
50 years later, people are still listening to the Beatles. And they'll still be listening to them 50 years from now. Now that's staying power. I pretty much doubt that people will be listening to Blink 182, Lil Wayne or Ke$ha 5 years from now let alone 50. You need good music to have staying power. -- Submitted By: (JayD) on January 11, 2012, 10:59 pm - (3 votes) - Login to Vote
After they stopped touring. Revolver onwards was not very good, IMO. -- Submitted By: () on January 11, 2012, 9:31 pm - (-3 votes) - Login to Vote
All you guys here claiming these guys ever boned are nuts. They set the precedant for just about everything to come in rock. The Beatles music continues to reverberate through every generation and will for as long as rock is alive and then some. Wise up. -- Submitted By: (MyWordIsGospel) on May 18, 2011, 5:16 pm - (2 votes) - Login to Vote
The most innovative band ever. At their zenith, the Beatles were a genre of music in of themselves. The only negative is when they let Ringo sing godawful songs -- Submitted By: (rixter) on April 19, 2011, 2:42 pm - (-1 votes) - Login to Vote
Completely boneproof. They broke up at the height of their brilliance. All other opinions are nonsense. -- Submitted By: (Soggy9000) on April 6, 2011, 1:50 am - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
Kingbk, I have the complete opposite opinion. It's when they stopped being just another teenybopper band, only from Britain, that they started being great. -- Submitted By: (DolFan316) on February 6, 2011, 2:48 am - (1 votes) - Login to Vote
When they went from charming, good looking, fun young guys to hippie looking, egotistical, preachy adults. -- Submitted By: (kingbk) on February 2, 2011, 2:28 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
Drwhorox: You just don't like them. There's probably no way to ever explain why other people do. I love them. That's music for you! It's a matter of taste. Enjoy what you like, and let others enjoy what they do. What you find annoying about the Beatles, others love. I don't think most Beatles fans are as intolerant as the vocal minority who get so much attention, by the way. Most of us just love music. To each his own. -- Submitted By: (HistoryProf) on September 3, 2010, 1:17 pm - (1 votes) - Login to Vote
I was listening to some Beatles songs the other day, and I just don't get it. Now, I'm a great lover of music, from all over the world, in all pockets of time. But I just don't understand this worldwide obsession with this group. Am I missing something? Is my brain not functioning properly from preferring Elvis to this group? To my ears, their songs are boring, nonsensical, they jump from style to style with no explanation. Or maybe it was the marijuana talking. This is my opinion, if people like their then I respect that. I know if someone said this about ABBA I wouldn't go so far as to make them a pariah. Sadly, that's what many Beatles fans do as they expect every living human being to love and respect them even if they broke wind into a microphone. They are not gods. They are just a rock band, like all the other rock bands. People don't need to feel guilty or hurt because of public majority. Unfortunately, as long as there will be music, there will be crazed Beatles fanatics. -- Submitted By: (doctorwhorox) on June 19, 2010, 2:43 pm - (-2 votes) - Login to Vote
Their music is legendary, however, thank Yoko for breaking up a good thing. -- Submitted By: (PYLrulz) on April 15, 2010, 11:07 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
Charles Kim, Sorry for not spelling 'cacophony' correctly. I've heard that tag quite a few times on manual records and CD's before and after I was 12 and I think I do 'get it'(and am thankful to those radio stations that actually cut that part out when playing 'Day in the Life' .If you think that tag was brilliant, that's your deal. Speaking strictly for myself, I think it was a pretentious and pompous act towards their fans in which the Beatles believed the fans would buy any and ALL sounds out of their mouths/instruments and consider them genius. -- Submitted By: (Pelirojo) on April 15, 2010, 11:44 am - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
@Pelirojo--What are you, like 12? Presumably you mean "cacophony." Play the record (ever hear of those?) on a manual turntable and you will get it. Or maybe not, being the dope that you are. -- Submitted By: (CharlesKim) on April 14, 2010, 8:29 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
