TV Shows - Parenthood (2010)

Parenthood is an updated version of the 1989 film of the same title. It is also the second TV series based on that film (the previous series aired during the 1990-1991 television season). The series premieres March 2, 2010. This series was originally scheduled to premiere on Wednesday, September 23, 2009 on NBC. However, on July 10, 2009, it was announced that Parenthood would be pushed back to midseason, due to actress Maura Tierney's breast cancer. Subsequently, on September 10, 2009, a spokesperson for Tierney announced that she was leaving the show due to conflicts with her treatment schedule. On October 9, 2009, it was announced that Lauren Graham would replace Tierney in the upcoming series.

Parenthood (2010) Comments (You must Login to Comment)

1 Been watching since day one and this show comes close to boning every single week but pulls away from the fish at the last minute because there are so many characters to follow. However, Hattie is a whiney brat like most of the kids and I can't wait until she leaves for school. -- Submitted By: () on January 28, 2012, 1:10 am - (2 votes) - Login to Vote
2 Agree that the actresses playing the teen cousins look older than the characters should but they do very good work- especially Mae Whitman who plays Amber. However; I'm glad they actually had the deal with the discovery of a biracial grandchild instead of totally ignoring it (and the existance of his father the family's younger son) like they did in the 1990 series. Also, I'm glad they fleshed out the characters more and it's interesting, too, that the older son's problem child got a definition of Asperger's here instead of just being considered high strung! Lastly, it's intriguing to me in the 'update' that the grandparents so are proto-Boomers who were counter-culture types who raised a family(as in Stephen and Elyse Keaton of "Family Ties") instead of having come of age in the 40's and 50's as in the original movie and series- yet somehow kept the dynamics intact! -- Submitted By: (Pelirojo) on March 31, 2011, 10:36 am - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
3 The two actresses playing the teen-aged granddaughters (Amber and Haddie) look like they are 35 years old! It's hard for me to "believe" the characters are in high school. -- Submitted By: (Stephanie) on September 13, 2010, 12:51 pm - (3 votes) - Login to Vote
