Websites - BoneTheFish.com

Long story, short. TVGuide crushed a site that was near and dear to many viewers, and had us laughing daily. The powers that be at TV Guide decided: let's take a great community, a very interesting concept and a ton of valuable input and make it a redirect to a subdirectory of garbage that looks like a tabloid. That was the great demise of one of the greatest websites of all time, which unfortunately fell victim to its own namesake (which will not be named here, but we are sure you can figure it out)! We vowed to keep the spirit of "the site that shall never be named" alive in theme and spirit. That spirit was given a name in March of 2009- "Bone the Fish". This early time frame is when things can fall apart without the help of the fans - be it a movie series, tv show, celebrity or movie group. We value the opinions of our new fans and community, and we realize that people indeed want to vote on their favorite BTF moment. So take a minute, sign up for the new BTF revolution and comment and vote until your fingers are worn to the bone!

@Robert: Oh,OK. I only found out about this site about 2 or 3 months ago, so I came here after the liberal vote stuffers left. -- Submitted By: (cartooner) on August 21, 2010, 8:38 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
Just as a celebrity can bone if they get too liberal, a celebrity can bone if they get too conservative, too. For example, some people feel South Park boned when it became too political (many argue it became too conservative). Nobody likes a uber-political crusader, whether they're left or right. If you think Dawn Lyn is an annoying reason, you should have seen how many Dawn Lyn votes other shows got during the raid of the ballot stuffers over half a year ago. Other topics were affected, too. Most of the Never Boned votes went to liberal topics such as the ACLU (and were also the top reasons), while most of the Conservative topics had Day one as the top reason they boned. In fact, Jimmy Carter had over 200 votes for never boned just because he was a democrat! Some Conservative topics managed to get Never Boned as their top reason, though. It got so political that the Best of the Best page was littered with Liberal=Never Boned, Conservative=Day One as the highest votes (and of course, Dawn Lyn votes). The BTF staff had to delete reasons with suspected ballot stuffing until normal topics were once again in the Best of the Best page. -- Submitted By: (Robert) on August 20, 2010, 9:16 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
I like this site because you can comment on things other than TV shows. I really like the celebrity section and ripping on all the celebs I can't stand or boned the fish. -- Submitted By: (JayD) on August 20, 2010, 9:06 pm - (1 votes) - Login to Vote
Cartooner, yes if you join $cientology- you automatically bone--- forever. I see the Scottish site hasn't even been updated since February... sad indeed. -- Submitted By: (Chubby Rain) on August 20, 2010, 6:58 pm - (2 votes) - Login to Vote
Although there are some stuff that some users say that annoy me (such as how every TV show or movie series apparently bones if it has Dawn Lyn, or how any celebrity apparently bones if they either have liberal views or are a member of Scientology), I still think that this site is good and a lot better than the current status of the Scottish Site. -- Submitted By: (cartooner) on August 20, 2010, 5:05 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
Advocating rape and bashing gays? Gotta love the utterly ridiculous strawmen RHMH's pinching out. -- Submitted By: (Robert) on July 2, 2010, 9:09 am - (0 votes) - Login to Vote

When indivudal users of this site get singled out on various websites and blogs (Dolfan and Shanequia) you know that the site itself is going strong. Of course the users are what makes the site great, and there are always some great bits of biting satire and commentary on here every day. As for "Red Head Metal Head", she joins patron saint Dawn Lyn as one of the top haters to this site. -- Submitted By: (Chubby Rain) on July 2, 2010, 3:25 am - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
Thanks Chubbyrain! I had absolutely no idea this blog even existed until yesterday, and no idea what was said about me until just now. This person must have the strongest legs on the planet from the ginormous leaps to conclusions he or she makes. (S)He's got me bashing gays and even advocating rape! Instead of hurting my feelings I find it absolutely hilarious! Especially since this blogger actually came back here just to read the posts AGAIN after having already declared massive hatred and rage at us conservatives. So if I'm the main one mentioned by name, does that make me the leader of the gang? Then again Evil Overlord sounds much cooler :-) So Redhead Metal, or whatever your name is, since I know you'll be reading this soon I have just one thing to say to you. Keep making my day, and my friends' days too! Oh, and please don't burst an artery or blood vessel in one of your obvious fits of rage at my--I mean our utterings. You libbies are supposed to be the tolerant ones, remember? :-) -- Submitted By: (DolFan316) on July 2, 2010, 2:05 am - (0 votes) - Login to Vote

Chubby rain is amused that his IMDB story was touted as a reason that Dolfan is an idiot for believing him. Red Head Metal Head, you boned the fish right there, pour some slaw and vinegar on yourself!! -- Submitted By: (Chubby Rain) on July 1, 2010, 5:36 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote

Bone the Fish is both too liberal and too conservative? What a paradox! IMHO, if you're accused of being too liberal by one group and too conservative by another, then it proves you're neither. Could these paradoxal accusations prove that BTF is...BALANCED? -- Submitted By: (Robert) on June 30, 2010, 7:10 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote

Well, I would prefer my comment to be checked instead of having to type in a code all-the-time. Bone The Fish is still not strayed into horrible territory, only the damned members who turn it into a political debate have. -- Submitted By: (johnnydough) on June 13, 2010, 4:57 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
Yea, good point. I remember back on the old JTS site, there was so many popular votes that were BS. Like, "day one" was #1 vote for Seinfeld -- Submitted By: (Rape_Factory) on April 26, 2010, 12:01 am - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
IIRC, the early JTS had it where your post needed approval in order to be accepted. When TV Guide took over, they got rid of having to approve before the post was accepted, and what happened was it became easier to submit spam, flame, and troll posts. On BTF, the reason you now must login to vote is because, in the past, there was at least one person out there who had nothing better to do than spam votes all day for the reasons they liked best. The votes topped 1,000 in many cases, pushing legit topics off the Best of the Best listings! There were even troll/spam reasons cast. The BTF team worked hard to clean up that mess. -- Submitted By: (Robert) on April 25, 2010, 11:01 am - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
I like the site but I find it annoying that the comments need "approval" before posted. I dont get whats the point of that. It kinda takes the fun away from posting comments. JTS never had that, in fact, you didnt have to be a member to post a comment. I miss the old JTS site but dont get me wrong, this site is still good. But if they get rid of those minor inconveniences, then this site will be more enjoyable for everyone. -- Submitted By: (Rape_Factory) on April 25, 2010, 1:11 am - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
