Websites - BoneTheFish.com

Long story, short. TVGuide crushed a site that was near and dear to many viewers, and had us laughing daily. The powers that be at TV Guide decided: let's take a great community, a very interesting concept and a ton of valuable input and make it a redirect to a subdirectory of garbage that looks like a tabloid. That was the great demise of one of the greatest websites of all time, which unfortunately fell victim to its own namesake (which will not be named here, but we are sure you can figure it out)! We vowed to keep the spirit of "the site that shall never be named" alive in theme and spirit. That spirit was given a name in March of 2009- "Bone the Fish". This early time frame is when things can fall apart without the help of the fans - be it a movie series, tv show, celebrity or movie group. We value the opinions of our new fans and community, and we realize that people indeed want to vote on their favorite BTF moment. So take a minute, sign up for the new BTF revolution and comment and vote until your fingers are worn to the bone!

I use Safari, and the voting up/down works. -- Submitted By: (MacFan95) on February 14, 2011, 9:18 am - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
Thanks DolFan. I think I know what the problem is then. At times the server is a bit overloaded, since that function calls another .php script and database ping our shared hosting environment probably isn't responding very well. We should probably put this site on a new host, when we get a little bigger we will upgrade it. -- Submitted By: (Hikariu) on February 14, 2011, 6:55 am - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
I use Firefox and haven't had any problems. Hmm... -- Submitted By: (BigAl) on February 13, 2011, 7:02 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
I use Firefox. Whenever I enter a thumbs up vote, all I see is a spinning circle "it's loading, trust us" graphic that just stays that way until finally I exit the page. -- Submitted By: (DolFan316) on February 11, 2011, 9:12 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
I mainly use Firefox, and the thumbs system doesn't seem to work for me either. However, I just tried it on Internet Explorer, and it works on that browser (at least for me). -- Submitted By: (cartooner) on February 11, 2011, 9:02 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote

It works for me. Maybe it's the browser or internet settings. -- Submitted By: (Robert) on February 6, 2011, 5:17 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
Now that lrbloom mentions it, it doesn't work for me either. Hmmm... -- Submitted By: (DolFan316) on February 6, 2011, 2:52 am - (0 votes) - Login to Vote

One thing that does annoy me about this site has to do with the comments. The issue in question is the lack of ability to put your comments in paragraphs. It's annoying how I might make a long comment and use paragraphs only for it to appear it one large block of text when it appears on the site. otherwise though, it's great being able to comment, especially on more then just tv shows. -- Submitted By: (ExplodingConsole) on January 28, 2011, 2:14 pm - (1 votes) - Login to Vote

I don't know about the thumbs up/thumbs down thing. Is there some consequence to getting thumbed-down? Because I'm thinking about writing a negative review of a certain show that seems to be beloved by 90's kids. -- Submitted By: (Travoltron) on January 24, 2011, 12:38 am - (6 votes) - Login to Vote

Yes we do have our official second stalker- congratulations to our angry faux Lesbian!! http://redheadmetalhead.blogspot.com/2010/07/just-one-more-response-to-certain-bone.html -- Submitted By: (Chubby Rain) on August 22, 2010, 7:31 am - (1 votes) - Login to Vote
To note- in particular we had one user that once taken off the site, all of the uber political topics and liberal ballot stuffing disappeared. Also the user I'm refering to-(YuanMoons- an angry if not stupid poster) had nothing to say but angry liberal comments and was trying (unsuccessfully) to hijack the site. The site was changed so you had to register to vote, so we knew who voted how many times- thus we can know if something odd is happening, or if bots are involved (which hasn't since it was changed) We think that YuanMoons was using bots to jack up random topics like Laura Bush getting 1000 votes for killing someone in a car accident, and the ACLU getting 2000 votes for never boned... all in less than 24 hours- The statistics on the site's traffic showed us this was fraudulant along with dozens of other obscure political topics getting swamped with 100's and 1000's of votes over night in some cases- now the site is mostly entertainment with a dash of political criticisms- mostly on the shows that have gone sideways politically to drive us (the viewers) away. On that note- at the time we removed YuanMoon from the site, he was busy writing crazed emails into the site demanding changes and alterations to the site taht he wanted made and YuanMoon was also making conspiratorial claims his posts were being changed by other users since he "had been monitoring the site every hour and taking web snapshots of all of his posts" to prove his claims... probably the delusions of someone that doesn't get outside very much and may need mental help. The truth of it was this was someone that had nothing to contribute except some off the wall liberal agenda; and was paranoid about how bad they looked on the site he/she was trying to manipulate- sad. So not only was this our vote stacker and manipulator, it was our first stalker- the second one being the faux lesbian blogger "Red Head Metal Head". Yuan and Redhead should make their own site, they can hijack it together- hope that helps! -- Submitted By: (Chubby Rain) on August 22, 2010, 7:27 am - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
@Robert: Oh,OK. I only found out about this site about 2 or 3 months ago, so I came here after the liberal vote stuffers left. -- Submitted By: (cartooner) on August 21, 2010, 8:38 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
