Websites - BoneTheFish.com
Long story, short.
TVGuide crushed a site that was near and dear to many viewers, and had us laughing daily. The powers that be at TV Guide decided: let's take a great community, a very interesting concept and a ton of valuable input and make it a redirect to a subdirectory of garbage that looks like a tabloid. That was the great demise of one of the greatest websites of all time, which unfortunately fell victim to its own namesake (which will not be named here, but we are sure you can figure it out)!
We vowed to keep the spirit of "the site that shall never be named" alive in theme and spirit. That spirit was given a name in March of 2009- "Bone the Fish". This early time frame is when things can fall apart without the help of the fans - be it a movie series, tv show, celebrity or movie group. We value the opinions of our new fans and community, and we realize that people indeed want to vote on their favorite BTF moment.
So take a minute, sign up for the new BTF revolution and comment and vote until your fingers are worn to the bone!

Oh, come on Robert, you know you're just eating it all up. I mean the stories about her, not her. You'd end up getting 20 types of STD's and 10 unknown STD's. -- Submitted By: (Jp) on October 20, 2011, 3:46 pm - (0 votes)

Well Robert, perhaps she was trying to make that coffee Irish. That's important news, you know. Along with what toothpaste she uses, the color of her toothbrush, what kind of toilet paper she gets, and of course the size, shape, color, density and freqency of her bowel movements. Important! -- Submitted By: (Jp) on October 7, 2011, 4:40 pm - (0 votes)

Comparing Obama to Hitler crosses a line. As for people using celebs as scapegoats, some people do. Most of the time, it's people venting because they're tired of hearing reports on the same person ad nauseum. "Tonight, at 8! Lindsey Lohan buys coffee at Starbuck's! Followed by a lengthy report on which coffee she purchased! After that, a ten-minute interview with the people who took her order and created her cup of Joe! And, at 8:30, a half-hour long interview with Lindsey Lohan over her coffee break!" -- Submitted By: (Robert) on October 6, 2011, 9:06 pm - (1 votes)

There has to be some element of common sense here. Thank God we lived through the Lindsay Lohan/Britney Spears period. Many people make celebrities scapegoats for some personal reasons and there has to be some standard of taste. The "conservative" is necessary to draw a line between expressing a point of view and yelling "fire" in a crowded theater. I think, for example, comparing President Obama to Hitler is stepping over that line. The point being that there aren't certain pressure groups that I know of on this site enforcing "thisism" or "thatism" but somebody has to mediate these things. Some people are not expressing a point of view but are rather just trying to draw attention or something to themselves and that is something that shouldn't be allowed. I'm sure there are those that try to find fault with things (like BTF or Obama) just for that reason. The point is that ignoring or deleting irrational points is simply that result of someone yelling "fire" once too often. -- Submitted By: (lrbloom) on October 6, 2011, 12:06 am - (0 votes)

Site seems to be doing great. It's always fun to have some of the loons whining like "wilddrawfour" as well that they are being suppressed! It seems like alot more TV and movie discussion and alot less whining, with the obligatory fake voting. -- Submitted By: (Chubby Rain) on October 2, 2011, 6:03 am - (4 votes)

And yet wilddrawfour, your post appears. Yes, a few posters lean conservative, but I have yet to see some abuse of power -- Submitted By: (PYLrulz) on October 1, 2011, 2:56 pm - (4 votes)

I've always liked the political discussion on bonethefish but I do feel the comment approval system is biased in favor of conservatives. What happened to letting anything through? Now comment approval seems to be decided by one or two people who only want one viewpoint heard. -- Submitted By: (wilddrawfour) on September 30, 2011, 6:13 pm - (-6 votes)

MCS. Nice to have one of the regulars back! :) Nowadays, we try to keep politics to a minimum, lord knows I try to. Unfortunately, after the vote-stacking saga, the damage was done: many members left for good, and one year later, BTF only has a handful of regulars. Most here are respectful of other people's political beliefs, even if they don't agree with them. -- Submitted By: (Robert) on August 11, 2011, 2:44 pm - (4 votes)

I will admit that there is some political debate on here (usually leaning more right then left), but I can say that I've seen other sites that are much more right-winged (most notably Sodahead). -- Submitted By: (cartooner) on August 1, 2011, 9:59 pm - (3 votes)

IMO the political stuff has calmed down a lot over the past 6 months or so. Certain people were trying to stir the pot for their own ends and now they're gone and things are actually reasonable, go figure. (And no, I wasn't talking about Soggy, I liked his brand of pot stirring.) -- Submitted By: (DolFan316) on August 1, 2011, 7:00 pm - (3 votes)

Soggy, the political crap is the reason why I have not been on this site nearly as much as I was in the past. Everything is political here and it is irritating. -- Submitted By: (MCS) on August 1, 2011, 12:10 am - (0 votes)

Easy there ChubbyRain, Soggy was just stating his opinion like we all do. I personally like the discourse with him. I did try to warn him that attempting to tell others on an opinion based site what they should think was a bad idea but alas, it was too late I see :-( I want Soggy to stay. He interests me. -- Submitted By: (DolFan316) on April 26, 2011, 5:42 pm - (0 votes)

Let me throw my hat in the ring for the defense of Bone the Fish! I love Bone the Fish because every one is entitled to their opinion and that's what makes it great. I like the fact we can go on here, talk about movies, TV shows, music, celebrities, etc., state what we honestly think, and have spirited debate with others on the board. In short, that's what this website is, an opinion board. If we all just agreed and it was nothing but the village of the happy people, I, speaking for myself, would be bored stiff. And not everyone just rags on everything. There are plenty of topics with positive feedback as well. I like I can go here with and state how crazy Donald Trump, Woody Allen, and Angelina Jolie are and hear what other people have to say. I like that I can discuss with others on this board if Back the Future boned with Part III or not. I like that some of us disagree on when Van Halen boned: when Sammy joined, when Gary joined, or never. That's what makes this board fun. Sure, for a while the board leaned left and lately it has leaned right, but political biases will always factor into opinions as well. In the end, we're just a bunch of people from all over sharing our opinions with each other. What's wrong with that? -- Submitted By: (kingbk) on April 26, 2011, 1:28 pm - (1 votes)

I think BTF >> JTS then and now. If you think the politics is bad here, you might not have visited JTS enough. People got really vicious if they felt you were of "the wrong party". For example, on the Family Guy page, some people criticized it for bashing religion, among other reasons. Seth's fans accused them of being pro-Bush/religious fanatics/Republicans, so they tore into them without mercy. Here, the disagreements are far more civil. -- Submitted By: (Robert) on April 26, 2011, 11:17 am - (2 votes)

Soggy- are you retarded? You are being subjected to opinions you don't like and dont like the site. Please- leave and go create your own website. People like you make me laugh, take a shower and wash the sand out of your pussy and stop whining like a boned fish. -- Submitted By: (Chubby Rain) on April 26, 2011, 4:31 am - (3 votes)

First, why would anyone submit a topic here just to say it was perfectly fine? This is a site BASED on criticism, not on insisting something is great whether it is or not.
Second, it's never a good idea on a site whose focus is on the expression of opinions to order people not to express certain opinions. That never ends well. -- Submitted By: (DolFan316) on April 25, 2011, 10:38 pm - (3 votes)
