Websites - Geocities

Yahoo! GeoCities was a web hosting service founded by David Bohnett and John Rezner in late 1994 as Beverly Hills Internet (BHI). Ten years after Yahoo! bought GeoCities, the company announced that it would shut down the service on October 26, 2009 and GeoCities websites actually became unavailable on October 27, 2009. There were at least 38 million user-built pages on Geocities before it was shut down.

1 GeoCities on one had allowed the average joe to put up a web site. The bad news is Geocities was an endless source of bad personal webpages. -- Submitted By: (scatcatpdx) on June 18, 2014, 5:03 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
