Websites - FactCheck.org
FactCheck.org is a non-partisan, nonprofit website that describes itself as a "'consumer advocate' for voters that aims to reduce the level of deception and confusion in U.S. politics." Most of its content consists of rebuttals to what it considers inaccurate, misleading, or false claims by politicians. FactCheck has also targeted misleading claims from various partisan groups. There are accusations that it is not nonpartisan, and one accusation comes from the National Rifle Association. When FactCheck issued a report titled "NRA Targets Obama" which discussed television spots and mailers circulated by the National Rifle Association, NRA member David Kopel published an online article entitled "FactCheck flubs Obama gun fact check". The NRA also accused FactCheck of being linked to the Brady Campaign. FactCheck defended the article, as well as maintaining that they are also against gun-control advocates "when they stray from the facts".
