Movie Series - My Girl

My Girl was a 1991 comedy drama film. It starred Anna Chlumsky as Vada Sultenfuss, a hypochondriac tomboy. Her widowed father is Harry Sultenfuss (played by Dan Aykroyd), who ignores her as he is unable to understand his daughter. His profession as a funeral director has resulted in Vada's obsession with death and disease. Because she has befriended Thomas J. Sennett (played by Macaulay Culkin), who is an unpopular boy, she is tormented and teased. My Girl 2 was released in theatres in 1994. As of 2009, the third installment, Still My Girl, is in production.

1 I agree - they made this look like comedy and the WTF?? -- Submitted By: (lrbloom) on June 27, 2011, 4:27 am - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
2 What really sucked was the fact that this movie came out right after all the Home Alone hooplah. SO the distributors, in their most infinite wisdom, put together a trailer for this movie that made it look like a comedy (at least the trailers I saw for it did). Then you watch it- it's not all that funny and (spoiler alert) the kid dies in the movie. WTF?! -- Submitted By: (Friedrich_Feuerstein) on January 31, 2011, 10:48 am - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
3 I'd forgotten all about this! Let's say when Macauley Culkin got stung by bees at the end and died, it didn't exactly break my heart. I was like, "Wait, that's IT? THAT'S how he dies?" The only time I saw this was when it first came out on VHS. The funniest part was, "Don't come back for five to seven days!" LOL -- Submitted By: (DolFan316) on January 30, 2011, 6:06 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
4 It was the opposite with my high school friends and I. We rented the VHS when it came out just to see Macaulay Culkin die. Morbid in retrospect, but you had to understand how over-exposed that kid was in the early '90s and we were sick of him. -- Submitted By: (Travoltron) on January 30, 2011, 12:25 am - (1 votes) - Login to Vote
5 I think with me it was alwasy the way it started as kind of this feel good movie or something and then it has kind of a tragic ending. The kids were good in it but id just diodn't like the ending. -- Submitted By: (lrbloom) on January 29, 2011, 11:10 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
6 I have to admit, I'm still on the fence about this film. It has its moments. Altogether, it just fails to hold my attention. I think the sequel suck, though. -- Submitted By: (atomsk) on January 29, 2011, 5:57 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
