Howdy y'all! Yet again, it appears that good old Christmas can't wait until after Halloween to start showing up in stores and on TV. What's the over/under for how many years it'll be until the Christmas season starts up immediately after the previous Christmas is over? -- Submitted By: (ScottyB) on December 12, 2013, 10:34 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
@kingbk yea i can't take that much christmas music either.. besides i have my own collection of christmas favorites..rather listen to those -- Submitted By: (stryker73) on December 20, 2012, 9:14 am - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
The thing that annoys me about Christmas music is how many remakes there are of the same songs. I like it for about a week, then I'm burned out. I think the whole thing with radio stations flipping to an all Christmas music format for a month thing is a little too much, at least for me. I'm good with a week of it. -- Submitted By: (kingbk) on December 7, 2012, 6:24 pm - (2 votes) - Login to Vote
I like Christmas songs as much as the next guy, but why does every second Christmas song I hear have to be Sleigh Ride? I'm so sick of that song. -- Submitted By: (JayD) on December 6, 2012, 12:07 am - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
I'm probably even more extreme, in that I wish the Christmas season wouldn't start until after the first week of December. Having it for the entire month and more is ridiculous -- Submitted By: (John63btf) on November 25, 2012, 10:39 am - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
The Christmas season should officially begin on the day after Thanksgiving. Not in October, not in September...the day right after Thanksgiving. To be fair, it's not the Christians' fault this holiday's been hijacked by commercialists. They're getting fed up of all the commercialism as well, including myself. For the record, I get sick of the constant bombardment/overexposure as well. And it's really annoying to hear a Christmas song (like Carol of the Bells, Jingle Bells, Deck the Halls, etc.) with lyrics changed to peddle a product or service. This year, we have that infernal "Garmin dot com" commercial sung to the tune of Carol of the Bells. Make it stop! -- Submitted By: (Robert) on November 24, 2012, 12:36 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
Walgreen's in my city stripped down the Halloween stuff November 1st and put the Christmas stuff up THAT day without even a second to consider Thanksgiving! I like the day itself and, as a Christian, I like take the time to reflect on His Birth and Life on that day but how greedy can retailer's be? Oh, and I could only find frankincense there- NO gold or myrrh at Walgreens! -- Submitted By: (Pelirojo) on November 19, 2012, 10:31 am - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
The local mall in my area got Santa out first weekend of November. Let the turkey die first before we even entertain the thought of Santa and Christmas music and such. Hell, if the "Christian" nutballs wonder why there is a "War on Christmas", it's because we get bombarded with Christmas stuff so early, and get sick of it so quick!!! -- Submitted By: (PYLrulz) on November 15, 2012, 12:40 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
Time for me to make my yearly visit to this site again. Aaaaaaand yes indeed, it is mid-November and there are Christmas commercials for RadioShack and (I think) Target starting to run. The Creep lives on! -- Submitted By: (ScottyB) on November 14, 2012, 5:11 am - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
Just IGNORE the Commercialization and the "Politically Correct" Crowd and you can once again ENJOY this Holiday. Remember the five "Fs" of Christmas, Food, Friends, Familiy, Festivaties and FUN! As for the stations that play Christmas Music nonstop from Thanksgiving to Christmas, I kind of enjoy it! One other thing. NEVER attempt to "Make this year's Holiday bigger and better than last year's. You are just setting yourself up for a HUGE Fall. Take it from someone who had to learn this himself, THE HARD WAY! -- Submitted By: (Regulus) on February 8, 2012, 8:11 pm - (1 votes) - Login to Vote
Watching human scum attacking each other for Air Jordan's, along with the scenes of Black Friday mobs, shows me most people have no idea what the true meaning of Christmas is anymore, dare you try wishing it to someone and not offending them... -- Submitted By: (kingbk) on December 24, 2011, 12:39 pm - (1 votes) - Login to Vote
If I were a comic strip artist or a photoshop expert, I'd make up a storefront with the sign "DON WIENHAUER: GAY APPAREL" with appropriate items in the storefront window. -- Submitted By: (Travoltron) on December 23, 2011, 8:12 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
So now the PC world, you know the people who don't like Santa,(perhaps the Jolly Green Giant) saying ho ho ho. Now, they would like for gay to be stricken from Deck the Halls. "don we now our gay apparells, fa la la la la la la la la" They would like it to be "bright" now. 1st and foremost the word gay is not specifically for homosexuals. 2nd Happy, merry, cheery and yes bright, are word that describe gay. 3rd changing to bright is actually worse to me then gay. It would be just as hated in the future by the PC world. 4th You're hurting the cause, by trying to do stupid stuff like this. 5th GO AWAY PC WORLD. No where is it written, that you can never have your feelings hurt by a simple word. live and let live, dammit. -- Submitted By: (Jp) on December 23, 2011, 12:30 pm - (3 votes) - Login to Vote

It's interesting; I don't think the "Christmas creep" has been as bad this year as it's been in recent years. Sure, there were a few Wal-Mart commercials popping up after Halloween, but not as frequently as they have been in recent memory. -- Submitted By: (ScottyB) on December 21, 2011, 6:16 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
I agree that it's way overcomercialized and far too soon. However; since no one knows the actual date of His Birth, I guess one could technically celebrate ANY day as Christmas if one wanted. Just sayin. -- Submitted By: (Pelirojo) on November 5, 2011, 12:24 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
Holy crap! I haven't seen, heard or read those two words in a very long time. (Winn-Dixie) Don't have them where I am anymore. To the topic at hand, the over commercialization "bones" it for me. -- Submitted By: (Jp) on November 4, 2011, 9:45 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
Interesting you say that, PYLrulz. I went to Winn-Dixie right after Halloween, and already they were putting up Christmas merchandise. But compare that to this: back in mid-September, I went with a friend of mine to a clothing store...already they were playing Christmas songs! -- Submitted By: (Robert) on November 4, 2011, 1:38 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
Right as Halloween ends, you ALREADY have Wal-Mart and Sears jumping in with Christmas commercials... -- Submitted By: (PYLrulz) on November 3, 2011, 6:12 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
As if overcommercialization isn't bad enough, stations that play non-stop Christmas music from halloween to dec. 26 are TOO MANY -- Submitted By: () on November 3, 2011, 12:21 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
