If this show wasn't getting high audience ratings every week, it probably wouldn't be on for long.. i blame the couch potatoes who have nothing to do but watch this drivel religiously -- Submitted By: () on November 2, 2011, 10:49 am - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
I guess you could rename this the Chaz Bono show. If you're gay, lesbian, bi, transgender, etc., OK. No one should discriminate against someone just because of that. But to thrust someone into the spotlight just because they're LGBT (even though they can't dance!), that's where some people draw the line. I mean, if they thrust a virgin or a celibate into the limelight, people would scream that puritan values are being rammed down their throats. -- Submitted By: (Robert) on October 20, 2011, 1:14 pm - (2 votes) - Login to Vote
It's nothing but a stupid ass popularity contest! Each "celebrity" has his/her following and depending on how many of said "celebrity's" fans vote, determines whether they stay in the dance competition. It's been made so clear this last season. Just because a couple has high scores from the judges, doesn't mean they get to stay. It all boils down to how many votes they get. This explains why Chynna Phillips is gone and Chaz Bono is still there. Chaz does little more than lift the arms up from time to time and walk around. Guess he/she is rockin' the transgender/lesbian vote. -- Submitted By: (Stephanie) on October 16, 2011, 9:41 am - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
If someone wants to parade around as a he/she, hey, more power to ya. Might not agree with it, but its your lifestyle. But the way they are pushing it... good god -_- -- Submitted By: (PYLrulz) on October 13, 2011, 4:39 am - (3 votes) - Login to Vote
So the wife is watching this again. I don't anymore because it makes me want to barf, but this season the show has gone to new lows again. A typical list of C listers and freak show clowns (outside of Hope Solo and this other guy, forgot his name, JR something), with the topper being Chaz Bono. Chaz, as in Chassity Bono, Sonny and Cher's daughter now son. I don't care that he (she?) got a sex change, what bugs me more is how ABC is setting this up as something to celebrate and show off. More flaunting of the progressive values of the liberal media. -- Submitted By: (kingbk) on October 12, 2011, 9:32 pm - (4 votes) - Login to Vote
I don't why but I could never get into this show, it rubs me the wrong way for some reason. -- Submitted By: (SSM) on July 1, 2011, 4:57 pm - (2 votes) - Login to Vote
True that, Robert - the previous Dancing With the Stars had Buzz Aldrin and Kate Gosselin, IIRC. Aldrin's 15 minutes mostly expired with the 1969 moon landing, and he used the few remaining seconds in socking the moon landing denier. Kate Gosselin, on the other hand...should not ever be called famous. She's a selfish harridan and a terrible mother, period. -- Submitted By: (BigAl) on November 20, 2010, 8:59 am - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
Dancing with the Stars stretches the definition of "star". They may as well have Octomom on the next season. Dancing had already boned by the time Bristol came on. -- Submitted By: (Robert) on November 19, 2010, 9:47 am - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
Kingbk, I actually broke up with my live in GF because she insisted on watching this show, among others. Stacy Keibler was the ONLY good thing to come out of this garbage, period. -- Submitted By: (DolFan316) on November 18, 2010, 5:34 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
The viewer voting, it can just be gamed so easy. See Sanjaya with American Idol years back as an example. Its a nice idea to get viewers into the show, but with the way that it can be gamed, it should not be allowed (viewer voting) -- Submitted By: (PYLrulz) on November 18, 2010, 2:32 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
This show sucks. It's cheesy and corny with its fake built-up drama and relatively lax definition of "star." Star is defined as retired sports stars, Olympic champs (about the highest caliber of star on the show and the only ones I can semi tolerate, besides Stacy Keibler), washed-up C-listers and anyone from Disney's lineup of teenage shows. Tom Bergeron always looks like he'd rather be anywhere else, Brooke Burke is wooden and doesn't know how to read a room, the judges try to one up each other with their stuffy arrogant feedback, the pros are smug and a bit overly annoying, the routines are pretty much the same season after season. I watch this piece of trash because of my wife, but I think this season is the last straw. Bristol Palin still being on the show is pathetic. She should have been off weeks ago. Instead, Rick Fox, Brandy and the girl from The Hills, much better dancers, are given the boot. The judges and host then get mad even though they give viewers the power to vote. If you don't like the results, don't let the viewers vote! Probably too late though, as other stars that shouldn't have won have in the past (Don Osmond? Really???) The monster is beyond control. Soon, look for more "stars" like Kate Gosslin and Bristol Palin to pollute this mess. And to top it off, the highest rated show in America. God help us. -- Submitted By: (kingbk) on November 18, 2010, 11:54 am - (4 votes) - Login to Vote
The show was bad from the beginning. I think having Marie Osmond was their first mistake. She has spent more time trying to be a star again than she ever did as a star. The show is worse now that they got Bristol Palin. At least Osmond was a star once upon a time. Bristol is just the daughter of a former vice presidential candidate who is famous for getting knocked up. -- Submitted By: (MCS) on November 7, 2010, 12:06 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
What stars? If Bristol Palin, and some other reality TV cretins are the best they can do, "Dancing with the pseudo-celebrities" is more like it. -- Submitted By: (Eugene) on October 18, 2010, 1:41 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
Eventually their definition of what makes a person a celebrity is going to reach a point where it is someone who is well known in their neighborhood. Should be called Dancing With the Has-Beens and Never Was. It is just mildy better than nails grating on a chalkboard. -- Submitted By: (meQal) on October 28, 2009, 5:27 am - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
This pathetic, puerile piece of poop is still on the air??? How??? Why??? Oh, and Stacy Keibler not winning=biggest injustice ever. -- Submitted By: (DolFan316) on July 8, 2009, 12:14 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
Where are the celebrities? Different wannabes and has beens and never will bes. How many ways are there to tell Mario that he is not an actor, never will be a celeb, just take that job with the cement contractor boy! -- Submitted By: (Bobsuruncle) on June 9, 2009, 1:33 am - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
