1 Swelled head syndrome of course! This was, after all, an 80s group! What else could have ruined them? Only difference this time is it wasn't the lead singer who had it. Well, he did, but no worse than the others. Between Brian Setzer thinking he was better off on his own, and the ludicrously pretentious "Phantom, Rocker & Slick" endeavor with their overplayed single (how could it not be? it was, after all, an 80s hit song!) "Men Without Shame", the Stray Cats became yet another early-80s endeavor that started out with so much promise only to give their fans the shaft in the end. Yes, I know they've reunited more times that I've had hot dinners. They still boned because few cared anymore by then. -- Submitted By: (ParkerTillman) on July 25, 2012, 1:50 pm - (1 votes) - Login to Vote
2 These guys are not one-hit wonders. They had 3-4 pretty popular hits during the 80s. Also, they had a unique sound, a rockabilly meets punk meets new wave sound that in the diverse music landscape of the 80s didn't sound like anything else. When I go to bars I usually hear one of their songs on the jukebox. That's pretty good staying power in my opinion. Sure, they aren't the best band from the 80s, but their songs are fun. Better than most of the crap that passes for music today. -- Submitted By: (kingbk) on July 17, 2012, 12:05 am - (2 votes) - Login to Vote
3 I don't think they were one hit wonders. A guy I work with plays a cd of theirs from time to time. They have some pretty catchy tunes. I'm not their biggest fan or anything but the one cd that I've heard I like. -- Submitted By: (Jp) on July 16, 2012, 6:37 pm - (2 votes) - Login to Vote

5 The Stray Cats rock simply because they led the Rockabilly Revival in the early 80's. "Stray Cat Strut" and "Rock This Town" are right up there with Gene Vincent's "Race With The Devil" and Ricky Nelson's "Waitin' in School." -- Submitted By: (Stephanie) on November 6, 2009, 2:24 pm - (3 votes) - Login to Vote
