Websites - Bert is Evil

Bert is Evil was a website that made fun of the Sesame Street character. To prove Bert's "evilness", the site featured pictures of him next to infamous figures, including Adolf Hitler and Osama Bin Laden. In 1998, because the site was becoming too difficult to maintain, Dino Ignacio (the site's creator) allowed other sites to mirror Bert is Evil. The first mirror was maintained by Dennis Pozniak. Ironically, participants of Pro-Osama Bin Laden protest rallies in Bangladesh were seen carrying posters that featured images of both Bert and Osama Bin Laden. The media attention became too much for Pozniak to handle, and as a result he shut down his site.
