TBS is an American cable television channel owned by Time Warner that shows sports and a variety of programming, with a focus on comedy. TBS (which stands for Turner Broadcasting System) was originally known as WTCG, a UHF terrestrial television station that broadcast from Atlanta, Georgia, during the late 1970s. WTCG reportedly stood for "Watch This Channel Grow" (although the "TCG" officially stood for Turner Communications Group, the forerunner to Turner Broadcasting System).

1 Anyone else here old enough to remember the black marble background for the logo and when it was one of the very few non-local cable channels that could be picked up when ordering cable for those of us in the Southeast? Yep, I'm old enough to remember how this station was considered by many to be a flop ready to happen to Ted Turner but, whatever else one can say about him, one has to give him credit for being able to use this to launch an empire that no one else could have predicted! -- Submitted By: (Pelirojo) on November 28, 2011, 8:14 am - (1 votes) - Login to Vote
2 Don't get me wrong, i love 'Christmas Story', but is it THAT good that they have to show it all day on Christmas every year? -- Submitted By: () on November 26, 2011, 10:03 am - (1 votes) - Login to Vote
3 This channel is one of the few which has gotten better. They actually show sitcoms. It's like a little window into the past. The movies they show are usually pretty good as well! -- Submitted By: (MCS) on March 20, 2010, 9:49 pm - (-1 votes) - Login to Vote
