TV Shows - Crossing Jordan

Crossing Jordan is an American television crime/drama series that aired on NBC from September 24, 2001 to May 16, 2007. It stars Jill Hennessy as the crime-solving medical examiner, Jordan Cavanaugh. The show uses an ensemble cast approach featuring a group of Jordan's co-workers, members of the Boston Medical Examiner's Office and police detectives assigned to the various cases. It was created by Tim Kring. The title refers to both the name of the main character and the biblical metaphor of the ancient Hebrews crossing the Jordan River, commonly used in spiritual songs to represent death and passage to the afterlife.

1 It started out with an interesting concept- of a police investigator who was still coping with the as-yet-unsolved murder of her own mother in her childhood. I think this was doomed by the double-whammy of the show itself being abruptly rescheduled all over the map more times than even the most ardent fans wanted to follow it AND the fact that the title character become barely a supporting character in her own show. What's the actress done since then anyway? -- Submitted By: (Pelirojo) on October 6, 2011, 11:01 am - (1 votes) - Login to Vote

3 This show wasn't about ghosts or spirits...that's "Ghost Whisperer". This show was actually very entertaining. Jordan Cavanaugh's bi-polar behavior was a bit extreme at times and her blatant disregard for authority was unrealistic, but it was a TV show so it was entertaining. The dude from "The White Shadow" that played her dad, was annoying with his fake Boston accent: ("Johdon! Johdon")but thoroughly enjoyed the other supporting characters, as they were intriguing and multi-dimensional. -- Submitted By: (Stephanie) on October 21, 2010, 2:22 pm - (1 votes) - Login to Vote
