When this show first started out I was among those that really enjoyed it, but it has not been very funny in years. Oddly enough it's spinoff "The Cleveland Show" is more entertaining(and it's not that great either). -- Submitted By: (JMoose) on November 28, 2012, 6:16 am - (1 votes)

The only thing dumber than Family Guy is Family Guy fans. I've lurked on their message boards before. They all seem to be about 14 years old and don't get any of the pop culture references that the show relies on. -- Submitted By: (Travoltron) on July 7, 2012, 7:33 pm - (2 votes)

"Laura Bush killed a guy!" -- "Seth MacFarlane has NO SHAME or sense of decency" LMAO ^_^ Bitch, you obviously don't understand the show. Also, its cute you got your two fat housewife friends together and stuffed the ballot box for this option. No way in hell did 36 seperate people chose THAT as their option. -- Submitted By: (ryantee82) on July 7, 2012, 2:11 am - (-7 votes)

I can't believe the writers of this show demand to be nominated for the best comedy show emmy. Best comedy show? It's not even the best animated show. Not by a longshot. -- Submitted By: (JayD) on June 19, 2012, 5:39 pm - (4 votes)

Maybe I missed something, but I never understood why Meg was treated so badly by everyone. I found it really off-putting. I also had issues with how some of the (really not funny) gags would drag on for an ice age. -- Submitted By: (Bryan527) on May 23, 2012, 1:13 am - (2 votes)

It's ironic how this show was brought back in 2005 because of the college crowd who watched it for its intelligent humor. But when it returned it selfishly turned its back on them to instead appeal to the a wider audience of mainstream idiots. -- Submitted By: () on May 8, 2012, 11:29 am - (6 votes)

AGreed with the naysayers. No wodner Lacey Chabert left Meg Griffin's voice. [of course stunt casting like having her as the voice was becoming common-"Lion King", anyone?] -- Submitted By: () on January 12, 2012, 9:46 pm - (2 votes)

Never had anything against the show. More like I have something against the people who watch it. I mean seriously, are fans of this show even able to go outside without a helmet? It has no humor. All it consists of are pop culture references (not jokes, they're just references), unfunny political satire (always with liberal undertones), and the cutaway gags! Easily the worst part of the show. Obviously just filler due to the writers' incompetence to write actual funny situations and stories. Fans might think I'm just a prude, but really, I'm not. Family Guy isn't offensive at all, it's actually pretty gutless. Its core demographic consists of 14-21 year old white males. How are racist jokes and/or sexual innuendos supposed to offend 14-21 year old white males? They're not. They're made to give these mongoloids who watch the show a smug sense of superiority, while offending prudes, minorities, or perhaps devout Christians. This show sucks, boned many years ago. Was tolerable until it got canceled, then it just went straight downhill from there. A wannabe South Park, but an unfunny one at that. -- Submitted By: () on January 11, 2012, 9:22 pm - (5 votes)

Family Guy started out as an irreverent, but sweet, send up to television and pop culture as well as a half-way decent sitcom. Seth MacFarlane was taking the work he did with Cartoon Network and made it more adult oriented. Much to many people's dismay, it was canceled after three seasons.
Then, Fox made the mistake of bring it back. After about two or three years, MacFarlane seemed to have lost his comedic sensibilities. Jokes ran on way too long and the show became too aware of itself. The characters have gone to their logical conclusions (Peter went from dim witted dad to full on retard, Meg went from generic teenager girl to whipping girl, etc.) and the writers have used the show to push their political agenda. The latter can be excused from time to time, but not when it becomes a weekly occurrence.
Family Guy, to me, has been a big disappointment. It had a lot of potential, but it threw it away to pander to the lowest common denominator. I'm equally disappointed with Seth MacFarlane. I know he can do better than this. -- Submitted By: (dcvianc) on April 29, 2011, 6:47 pm - (5 votes)

When the show came back from the only cancellation long enough for anyone to notice, it produced the third season. Otherwise known as the funniest season of the show. Everything after that was hit and miss at best. -- Submitted By: (TheCeej) on April 20, 2011, 2:57 pm - (5 votes)

In a related topic, does anyone find it ironic that while FOX's news division is so extremely conservative, some of the progamming on the FOX network are quite liberal, like The Simpsons, Family Guy, Glee, and couple others. I'm wondering if Rupert Murdoch has even realized that yet. -- Submitted By: (tvfan) on March 20, 2011, 3:22 pm - (0 votes)

A bit off-topic for Family Guy, but I've actually heard a decent amount of people leaving comments on the internet saying that the quake is "Karma for Pearl Harbor" and that we "Shouldn't help them because they bombed Pearl Harbor."
Makes it sound like these people were from the 1940s, frozen during WWII, and recently unfrozen. -- Submitted By: (cartooner) on March 15, 2011, 11:31 am - (2 votes)

I just looked at Alec Sulkin's Twitter to see if it were true and saw the following text about the Japan thing:
"Yesterday death toll = 200. Today = 10 thousand. I am sorry for my insensitive tweet. It's gone."
I'll give him credit that he came to his senses and realized that his post was insensitive and disrespectful, but at the same time, comparing one disaster's death toll to another one's shouldn't be said publicly (especially if it's meant to make people feel better). -- Submitted By: (cartooner) on March 13, 2011, 6:49 pm - (2 votes)

The Conway Twitty cutscene, it went on for too long. At least the giant chicken fights is entertaining but this crap is not even funny. It be a tiny bit funnier if it was cut short to 5 seconds. -- Submitted By: (SSM) on March 10, 2011, 9:06 pm - (5 votes)
