1 It doesn't sound like we're disagreeing. But it really did destroy the G1 continuity. G1, Beast Wars, and Beast Machines all existed in the same cartoon continuity. But Beast Machines screwed things up so badly that they had to just reboot everything starting with Armada, and they've basically been doing constant reboots every 3 or 4 years. -- Submitted By: (Travoltron) on May 14, 2015, 7:30 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
2 I think you're awfully wrong on this being the show that killed the classic transformers. I think this show was derailing what momentum the transformers shows had going. G1 ended up hurting itself around Season 3 and was cut off by Season 4 before it had any chance to redeem itself. Beast Machines was a very poor followup to what was an awesome show in Beast Wars before it. The fact that a lot of potential was wasted to have a great sequel was wasted. Key characters were altered in very horrendous ways. Rattrap looked like a damn stoner, Arachnia looked like a tramp, Optimus Primal looked like he was high on something all the time and Megatron being this totalitarian asshole instead of a menacing leader. -- Submitted By: () on April 28, 2015, 9:54 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
3 Just terrible. This is the show that killed the classic Transformers timeline that had begun in the 1980s. Hideous character designs and saddled with a clueless limousine liberal hippie showrunner that forced his dumb politics onto this show. Ecological "green" themes on a show set on the mechanical world of Cybertron, refusal to give the heroes guns due to his anti-gun stance, and of course making the character Rattrap wheelchair-bound to promote diversity were a few of his bone-headed moves. The characters had to meditate and say, "I am transformed" in order to transform. I am not joking. I gave up after only a few episodes. I'm told the finale has Cybertron transformed into a lush, green planet like Earth, thus ruining any future stories in that continuity and the need for all the reboots. -- Submitted By: (Travoltron) on March 17, 2014, 10:13 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
