In response to Mythigator: You're absolutely right and the boats having problems. I looked up some descriptions for Whale War episodes: "A boat's out of gas and won't run", "Another boat has a dead engine", "The first boat has more problems", "The second boat is possessed by a demon". I thought of your Achmed the Dead Terrorist comment when I read the show descriptions! -- Submitted By: (Robert) on July 3, 2012, 3:01 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote

I can't wait until the countries that these whale boats are from allow the whalers to install bid 6" guns on deck and 50 cals and whatnot and they blow these libtards to smitherines!!! Now that would be entertainment!!! -- Submitted By: (stukaman) on May 1, 2011, 12:41 am - (3 votes) - Login to Vote
Totally agree with you all. Terrorizing people, destroying their property, and putting their lives in grave danger because you don't believe what they're doing should be legal. Isn't this the same mentality used by extreme anti-abortionists who resort to violence against people who work at planned parenthood clinics? Second, why give a group of extremists their own show? What next, a reality show called "Fetus Wars" which follows a violent anti-abortion group who uses violence and murder to attain their goals? A reality show that follows a group of Klansmen or Skinheads as they terrorize their innocent victims? Animal Planet feebly attempts to deflect accusations of promoting eco-terrorism with the disclaimer: "The following program contains commentary and opinions that do not necessarily reflect the opinions of Animal Planet." Baloney. They wouldn't have dared to air it unless they agreed at least a little bit with their message in some way. If you think I'm mistaken in that last sentence, let me ask you this: Has animal planet aired anything promoting circuses, bullfights, dogfights, etc.? No. Why not? Because they do not agree with those things. I am against animal cruelty, but what these people are doing to the whalers is worse. -- Submitted By: (Robert) on February 7, 2010, 5:30 pm - (2 votes) - Login to Vote
South Park summed this show up best. -- Submitted By: (PYLrulz) on December 20, 2009, 2:40 pm - (1 votes) - Login to Vote
I watched this show with a friend one night. While I don't condone whaling, what the crew of the Irwin were doing was worse. What they do constitutes for piracy and terrorism. They board other ships, they throw things at the other ships and even fire upon them with rocks and even acid. They are very poor terrorists and are even ineffectual as pirates. On pirate ships there is usually some form of democracy yet on Irwin it is a strict dictatorship where the captain frequently abuses the crew and in some cases abandons them to either a raging ocean or to be captured for boarding ships. On a real pirate ship the captain would be #1 voted out of power and #2 abandoned on a deserted island. By the end of the show's marathon my friend and I were rooting for the Japanese whalers. How sad is that? I bet if Irwin crew went against Sauron or Vader I'd root for Sauron and Vader. -- Submitted By: (Acobjum) on December 19, 2009, 10:11 am - (4 votes) - Login to Vote
I've seen some bits and pieces of the episodes, and it seems like there's always something wrong with their ship: engines running crappy, navigational system on the blink, or some other glitch which keeps them from running interference on the big bad evil Japanese whalers. At BEST, these guys are thoroughly ineffective eco-terrorists - in a "Which Jeff Dunham Puppet Are You" quiz, these guys would all match on Achmed the Dead Terrorist. Day 1 BTF, but that doesn't go far enough. "Humped the whale shark" would be more like it - if you'll pardon the Scottish Site reference. -- Submitted By: (Mythigator) on August 20, 2009, 5:32 pm - (2 votes) - Login to Vote
