Again, I'm seeing this rampant and irrational anti-protest vibe going on, and I just don't understand why? People protest56ing against corruption and amorality by government and big business is a BAD thing now??? Huh??? What??? It's a whole lot better than Time naming some lame celeb their person of the year. -- Submitted By: (DolFan316) on January 12, 2012, 6:10 pm - (0 votes)

It seems that many do not know what the Person of the Year is really about. And regarding the Protestor for 2011, there are years that the Person of the Year was a generic person such as a the U.S. Solider (in the 1950s). Some years, it was a thing such as the personal computer. -- Submitted By: () on January 10, 2012, 8:11 pm - (0 votes)

What a lot of people don't seem to realize is that TIME's Person of the Year isn't supposed to be an honor or award. It's simply acknowledging whomever had the biggest impact on the news that year. Period, for good OR for bad. On that argument, Hitler, Stalin and Khomeini WERE the perfect choices for their respective eras. No fish-boning here! -- Submitted By: (Mythigator) on March 22, 2010, 8:16 am - (3 votes)

You have a good point, MCS, who can predict when a person goes bad? However, some Men of the Year were chosen after they went bad. Osama Bin Laden was nominated...post 9/11. Luckily, they wised up, and chose not to give him that honor. -- Submitted By: (Robert) on March 21, 2010, 9:56 am - (-1 votes)

OK people, the Man of the Year choices were made when they thought these were good people. Hindsight is 20-20. -- Submitted By: (MCS) on March 20, 2010, 9:48 pm - (-1 votes)
