President of the United States Comments (You must Login to Comment)

Being the president would take some getting used to. It'll take a chain of good presidents to even attempt to try and fix the shitstains left from previous presidents before him. When being president, there's a lot of things to worry about and I think presidents in our generation aren't taking that seriously. They should answer to the people, not the people answering to them. During George W Bush's two terms. He had made it where it was illegal to question his motives or question him at all. As well as his administration. That's not how it should be. We, as people, who are literally keeping this country floating whether everyone in governments want to believe it or not. We reserve the right to disagree with the president, and we do. This is all self-serving bullshit now trying to please their corresponding parties so they have a better living as well as the president and everyone else not them is thrown under the bus. Every president has lost sight on what's right for the people. Everyone I know of and see so far is hating on Obama a lot. When I see him as just another statistic on the long list of presidents who failed to get the job done. Do you think the other guy would seriously have done better? Do you really think so? I wouldn't think so. I'll start caring about the president, whoever he or if ever, she would be. If they'd just stop dreaming and realize that they're there for the people and not to go around trying to check off their personal lists. So, yes, they will end up being hated the moment they take office if they don't do anything drastically good. -- Submitted By: (Infyrin) on October 5, 2013, 11:10 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
Cain needs to get the Godfather from his old pizza commercials to do his TV spots. "Herman Cain... DO IT!!!" http://youtu.be/8yV3_IymkJg -- Submitted By: (Travoltron) on October 21, 2011, 9:19 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
I wonder...if the next election is Herman Cain vs Barack Obama, who'd be the douche, and who'd be the turd? -- Submitted By: (Robert) on October 21, 2011, 1:16 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
"millions of peaches, peaches for me. Millions of peaches, peaches for free" hahaha. I think, just to not be called a racist, Obama would fit under douche. -- Submitted By: (Jp) on October 20, 2011, 3:54 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
The four-year term works, it's like a trial run. If you like their work, hire them again for another four years. They sucked? Vote for someone else. A third-party candidate could work, but they might be hated by both parties because they're "not on the same team". As well as costing THEIR candidates votes. Beware of those more concerned with pleasing their party than working to make America a better place. This goes for ANY party. Speaking of douche and turd, which one's the giant douche, and which one's the turd sandwich? -- Submitted By: (Robert) on October 20, 2011, 1:11 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
@Travalton. Every four years? You could show that episode every four hours and it still would be right on. -- Submitted By: (johnnydough) on October 15, 2011, 4:09 pm - (1 votes) - Login to Vote
I think we Americans also get the leaders we deserve. We should be demanding better candidates. We should be thinking out of the box; beyond black/white, liberal/conservative, Democrat/Republican. Have the guts to support 3rd party candidates. But most people don't want to do this. That South Park episode where they had to choose between the Giant Douche and the Turd Sandwich was right on the money; they could rerun that episode every four years and it would still be relevant. -- Submitted By: (Travoltron) on October 15, 2011, 2:21 am - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
Never mind the question of being hated; I'd rather consider the more interesting question of when it was that the office itself BTF. And my answer would be the rise of the Imperial Presidency. (Some say that era began with FDR, but I think it started at least a generation earlier.) I wish America could return to a state - if only a state of mind - where the person who happens to be living in the White House never dares lose sight of the fact that he is a public servant first and a commander in chief second. (That's not an attack on any particular president; it's a criticism of the mindset of ALL of them since 1900 or so.) -- Submitted By: (Soggy9000) on April 8, 2011, 4:02 am - (2 votes) - Login to Vote
You have enemies? Good. That means you stood up for something, sometime in your life-Winston Churchill -- Submitted By: (BrewMaster) on September 23, 2010, 11:51 am - (1 votes) - Login to Vote
Well, now that the Obama and Bush reasons are gone, I think that the first reason is a good reason why this boned. You aren't generally hated when you're just a normal person, but when you become president, that's when the hate rolls in. -- Submitted By: (MacFan95) on March 14, 2010, 5:19 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
The top two reasons are good reasons why this boned. NanaOsakifan, I wholeheartedly agree with you! -- Submitted By: (MacFan95) on February 22, 2010, 9:39 am - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
