Anybody watch the craziness that was this past Monday Night Raw?!? The fans were OFF THE HOOK, chanting just about every concievable thing, and maybe making a star out of Fandango, some guy with a dancing gimmick who the crowd just put over like crazy. -- Submitted By: (PYLrulz) on April 9, 2013, 9:38 pm - (0 votes)

WWF/WWE had its best years from 1997-2001. It lost its touch in 2002, but was still good till it turned PG which was in 2008. Now its, meh... -- Submitted By: (Rape_Factory) on May 8, 2012, 7:35 pm - (0 votes)

Was watching a bunch of old Tuesday Night Titan (Vince's wrstling version of the Tonight Show) clips...god, was that stuff gold. Anyway, WWF (Yes I still call it that, the hell with the E) boned when they started focusing on backstage clips to drive the angles along...plus I hate that stupid raised ramp that the wrestlers come down, it ruins the surprise of run ins. -- Submitted By: (John63btf) on April 26, 2012, 7:11 am - (0 votes)

Just bringing the "old" WWE topic back to the top, the duplicate was erased. Does anyone watch this garbage anymore? -- Submitted By: (Chubby Rain) on April 26, 2012, 6:14 am - (0 votes)

I think wrestling, just like some other programs (like Lost) is one of those where you have to watch a few weeks to know what is going on (It was like that for me at least when I got back into watching it with my girlfriend, who loves it). Yeah, the storylines have been subpar, but still, if you compare it to TNA, it still blows it away. But I still would like to see Vince try a little harder in putting out a good product. It looks like for the past several months they have cut it with the kiddy crap, so I am happy about that, but I still would like to see more happen. -- Submitted By: (PYLrulz) on October 13, 2011, 4:42 am - (0 votes)

I don't remember exactly when I quit watching but it was about the time Eddie Guerrero passed. I tried to watched a couple of weeks ago and it's just crap. Everything about it is crap. I barely recognize anyone anymore. Whatever happened to individuality? Everyone seems to be a carbon copy of the each other. Whether it's looks, ring attire, move sets, etc. It all seems to be the same. I guess my vote would have to be that it's just not fun anymore. It may even be worse than the early to mid 90's where everyone was some sort of character. -- Submitted By: (Jp) on October 10, 2011, 8:48 pm - (0 votes)

Meh. I stopped watching this trash in '05, and only hung on that long because I'd been a pro wrestling fan since '82. Once I stopped I stopped for good. No amount of faux-shoot promos are going to bring me back, I'm an MMA guy now. It wasn't the "fakeness" of it that drove me away, it was the ludicrously juvenile storylines. If I want to see pro wrestling the way it used to be and the way I liked it I can just pull up old clips on Youtube. -- Submitted By: (DolFan316) on July 14, 2011, 7:13 pm - (0 votes)

Also to add, since I really started watching the WWE again a couple years ago (thanks to my girlfriend, who sadly is a Cena fan), the WWE has seemed to pick things up a little bit. When I started watching a couple years back, they were totally thinking of only kids, instead of trying to make it enjoyable for everyone. It seems like at, at least with the past several months, that the WWE is pushing the envelope a little. Still needs to improve on the storyline writing and such (though it is still FAR superior to what TNA puts out), but it is a start. -- Submitted By: (PYLrulz) on July 13, 2011, 11:45 pm - (0 votes)

I figured there was some elements of a shoot, but for Vince (or anybody else for that matter) to tell CM Punk to just roll with it, and say whatever is on CM Punk's mind... that was just pure genius on their part. Look how much some people were actually talking about the WWE after CM Punk launched that nuke, probably the first time the WWE was talked about in a long time that did not involve yet another wrestler croaking. -- Submitted By: (PYLrulz) on July 13, 2011, 11:41 pm - (0 votes)

No that was a shoot, but what CM Punk said about what is going to happen to the company after Vince is gone is 100% true. Stephanie and Paul Levesque (Triple H) are just going to continue this trainwreck until UFC becomes bigger than them (they already outsell them in PPV events.) -- Submitted By: (tvfan) on July 4, 2011, 12:24 am - (0 votes)

Anybody catch CM Punk's rant at the end of Raw this past week?!? If that was a work (as many people in the know say it was), Vince McMahon, the writers, and CM Punk had some major balls to pull that off, as that was probably one of the best promos in the past 10 years in wrestling. -- Submitted By: (PYLrulz) on July 2, 2011, 6:22 pm - (0 votes)

True, he got to be on TV a ton, but it had to take WCW whipping the WWF's rear weekly, and some ECW appearences on Raw for Vince to realize that the Attitude Era was the way to go. If the WCW and ECW never existed, do you really think that we would of had the Attitude Era? -- Submitted By: (PYLrulz) on April 6, 2011, 9:34 pm - (0 votes)

PYRulz, are you KIDDING me???
If anything it's the toning down part Vince didn't want. He sure was on TV a lot during the Attitude Era for someone who "didn't want" it to happen. Sometimes it seemed like Vince or one of his family was on camera almost an entire episode!!! -- Submitted By: (DolFan316) on April 6, 2011, 7:50 pm - (0 votes)

PLYrulz, that is very true. The WWF did complete against WCW and later on ECW for the ratings. Vince had the amp the action up just to keep up with them especially with ECW. Personally I didn't mind the WWE being PG that much though, as long it is enjoyable for everyone. -- Submitted By: () on April 6, 2011, 6:49 pm - (0 votes)

Vince never really wanted the attitude era, and the blood, sex, and violence associated with it, it was just he had no choice unless he wanted the WWF to become extinct in the Monday Night Wars. I don't mind the WWE being PG, I just think at times, they do make things a little too kiddy, and not think of the adults. -- Submitted By: (PYLrulz) on April 6, 2011, 7:48 am - (1 votes)

When they started to have a PG rating. All the wrestling and the storylines became too tame. I remember they used to have stuff like "Bra and Panties" Match, Billy Gunn is actually allowed to called Mr. Ass, and of course The Godfather and the ho train. I agree that the "Attitude Era" is the best one with DX, Steven Austin, The Rock and the Mchanon-Helmsey arc. I think the Invasion arc is where they reach their peak. The Invasion arc itself didn't BTF for me personailly but the aftermath is. After the Invasion arc, I think they just ran out of ideas being they brought WCW/ECW and there was no other wresting show to complete anymore other than the fact that there was few moments there like NWO, Triple H vs Shawn Michael but that's all. -- Submitted By: (SSM) on April 5, 2011, 8:11 pm - (0 votes)

A lot of the crap in WWE nowadays can be traced back to when they bought out WCW. No competition = stale product. TNA doesn't count as competition. WCW at it's worst was still better than TNA at it's best. But yeah, around the same time as the merger, Rock and Austin slowly phased out. Foley too. Then the horrible InVasion angle. Yeah, that was it. -- Submitted By: (Googalslosh) on April 5, 2011, 12:41 am - (2 votes)

Mr. Zimpy, I wouldn't necessarly say no longer fun to watch. The WWE had its moments from 2001 onwards, it just seems as time has gone on, those moments have become fewer and farther between. -- Submitted By: (PYLrulz) on April 2, 2011, 5:19 pm - (1 votes)

What killed wrestling was the end of the attitude era. Then it was all over, it was no longer fun to watch. -- Submitted By: (Mr.Zimpy) on January 2, 2011, 7:38 pm - (2 votes)
