I recall an election in the 80s. I voted for the rabbit and he won again. It's hard to remember, but I think he did get to eat a spoonful of Trix before getting the box taken away. I've heard that they do this election gimmick once a decade, thus people remembering different dates. -- Submitted By: (Travoltron) on August 12, 2013, 6:43 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
Never Liked this cereal or Froot Loops. The old commercials were kind of funny though. -- Submitted By: (Jp) on July 4, 2012, 12:00 am - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
@Mr. Zimpy I remember a similar commerical when the rabbit disguise himself as a human man buying the cereal from the supermarket and as soon as he got home, he took off the disguise and got all happy and no kids around neither then tried to pour the milk but the milk is empty, and he got a shocked or sad look in his face. I think it was a "got milk" commerical through. That poor rabbit never catches a break. :( -- Submitted By: (SSM) on August 3, 2011, 1:43 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
Fruity Pebbles is better anyways, at least when Barney steals the cereal from Fred, he gets to eat it and Fred eats as well. Fred don't bitch to Barney and said, "Sorry Barney, Fruity Pebbles is for me." -- Submitted By: (SSM) on January 3, 2011, 6:03 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
Boned when the rabbit went into a convieniance store, honestly bought a box, and the children stole it from him. -- Submitted By: (Mr.Zimpy) on January 2, 2011, 7:26 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
IIRC, it was indeed. Unfortunately, the kid swiping his cereal in spite of the kids voting yes sounds familiar, so I could be wrong about him finally getting a chance to taste his cereal. -- Submitted By: (Robert) on February 5, 2010, 5:47 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
Ok, thats what I thought, I am almost certain it was 90's then, and I remember seeing that they had a vote on whether the rabbit got the Trix or not. But I was also just old enough to not give a damn about it either, just enough to remember it. -- Submitted By: (PYLrulz) on February 5, 2010, 3:56 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
So the Rabbit FINALLY got the cereal. I was in college by that time and was no longer interested in the farce. So tell me- when the rabbit tried the cereal, was it everything he dreamed it would be? -- Submitted By: (Friedrich_Feuerstein) on February 5, 2010, 9:16 am - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
I wasn't around for that vote, but my God. You guys went through all that nonsense for the right to cast votes, and they ignore them. That's so messed up. It clearly was just a scam to get you to buy their cereal. That kid taking the Rabbit's cereal was their way of saying, "PSYCHE! We weren't REALLY going to honor your vote, we just wanted you to buy our cereal! Suckers!" I think I remember either in the late 80s or early 90s that there was another vote, and this time they wisely honored the kids voting yes, and gave him the cereal. -- Submitted By: (Robert) on February 5, 2010, 8:25 am - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
Friedrich, I remember that 'Election' because it happened during the US Bicentennial . I admit that I pestered my mother into buying a box JUST so I could cast a vote and wasn't happy because not only did she insist I EAT the cereal [sorry, shanequia, I'm glad you liked it but I personally NEVER liked this stuff] but also, even though I voted to let the Rabbit EAT this stuff (and my vote was part of the MAJORITY who also voted), that rotten cartoon kid took the cereal AWAY from the Rabbit IN SPITE of the majority vote. BOO! Yep, I lost out and got ripped off TWICE- having to eat it and then having my vote being overturned by a rotten cartoon kid! -- Submitted By: (Pelirojo) on February 5, 2010, 7:11 am - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
If I recall correctly, they did the same thing about 20 years later. JUST GIVE THE RABBIT THE DAMN CEREAL!!! -- Submitted By: (PYLrulz) on February 5, 2010, 4:34 am - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
I remember back in the late 70's when they did that promotion for weeks where they were letting kids vote on whether or not to let the Rabbit have Trix. My brother and I voted. As I recall, I took the compassionate stance and voted to let the rabbit have some Trix. Then, the big day came where they began to run the commercial where they tabulated the votes. THE RABBIT WON!! we were ecstatic! We won! Our party won! It was the beginning of a new era- But then, just as the Rabbit picked up the bowl to take his first bite, some jackass kid walked up from nowhere, yanked the bowl away from him and gave him the old "Silly rabbit! Trix are for kids!" line. I wanted to throw the sofa into the TV set. Talk about no payoff! Nice going Trix cereal! You could have taught my little brother and me a lesson about the importance of getting out and voting. Instead, you crushed our spirit and jaded us. -- Submitted By: (Friedrich_Feuerstein) on February 4, 2010, 5:13 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
The number 1 reason for Trix's boning the fish was the "Silly Rabbit" line? Reminds me of the Family Guy episode where some Asian kids say the line, and the rabbit beats them all up using karate. Good times... -- Submitted By: (ScottyB) on October 8, 2009, 12:30 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
No laughing now but I still buy Trix sometime. this one my favorite when I was a little girl. If mama would not buy it when we was in the grocery store I sit down in the ile and she slap me clear to frozen foods. One time I lie on the floor and hold on to the back of the cart and she push it and I end up mopping the floor with my dress from dragging. -- Submitted By: (shanequia) on September 6, 2009, 7:29 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
I was going to give as a reason "they changed the spherical shapes to hard-as-a-rock, jagged fruit-shaped pieces", but I just remembered that they changed it back a while ago. Good for them! -- Submitted By: (Hanglyman) on July 1, 2009, 3:35 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
