Music Groups - Johnny Cash

Born J.R. Cash to a destitute farming family in Arkansas in 1932, the singer would trascend many musical boundaries due to the raw honesty of his songs. Even Johnny's 2nd marriage to June Carter whom he'd adored from an early age wouldn't put to rest his being haunted by many demons-including those of his own making. However; it was his ability to relate those struggles and triumphs in his music that made him an icon far beyond the country music genre and he would continue to surprise and win over new generations of fans from the mid 1950's literally right up to his death in 2003. It would be difficult to consider how Johnny could have ever boned but that's what this website's here for!

2 Amen to all you said here, Robert! -- Submitted By: (Pelirojo) on November 5, 2011, 12:35 pm - (2 votes) - Login to Vote
3 He and Waylon Jennings were the true definition of country music: Rebels who did their own thing and didn't care what others thought. What has become of the country music industry since their passing is disgusting. Outside of some exceptions like Garth Brooks, now country music is a Middle America joke of ballads to God, trucks, beer and dogs. I can't stand country, but I'll always listen to Johnny Cash. Never boned. -- Submitted By: (kingbk) on October 25, 2011, 11:55 am - (3 votes) - Login to Vote
4 These days, I can't help but think of how relevant that song "How Much Higher the Water, Mama?" is to a good part of my region. Like many other of his songs, he did INDEED live it as a tiny child when his family farm got flooded out! -- Submitted By: (Pelirojo) on May 7, 2011, 3:24 pm - (2 votes) - Login to Vote
5 The fact that three different generations adore the guy - and that artists from all three lined up for a chance to collaborate with him - argues pretty strongly for his boneproof status. -- Submitted By: (Soggy9000) on April 23, 2011, 9:23 pm - (4 votes) - Login to Vote
6 I saw a comment on Youtube that said: (parapharased) "God, you can have the artists of today if you will just give us back Johnny and Waylon." Well said! -- Submitted By: (Stephanie) on November 24, 2010, 12:55 pm - (6 votes) - Login to Vote
7 Johnny Cash sure cranked out some memorable songs - I especially like A Boy Named Sue, Ring of Fire, and I Walk The Line. Never boned. -- Submitted By: (BigAl) on September 15, 2010, 12:29 am - (4 votes) - Login to Vote
8 Great country artist. I don't care much for country music, but Johnny Cash is one I will listen to more times than not if I do. -- Submitted By: (PYLrulz) on May 25, 2010, 6:42 am - (4 votes) - Login to Vote
